Meanwhile many p...With network developing and virtualization rising, more and more indoor environment (POIs) such as care, library, office, even bus and subway can provide plenty of bandwidth and computing resources. Meanwhile many people daily spending much time in them are still suffering from the mobile device with limited resources. This situation implies a novel local cloud computing paradigm in which mobile device can leverage nearby resources to facilitate task execution. In this paper, we implement a mobile local computing system based on indoor virtual cloud. This system mainly contains three key components: 1)As to application, we create a parser to generate the "method call and cost tree" and analyze it to identify resource- intensive methods. 2) As to mobile device, we design a self-learning execution controller to make offtoading decision at runtime. 3) As to cloud, we construct a social scheduling based application-isolation virtual cloud model. The evaluation results demonstrate that our system is effective and efficient by evaluating CPU- intensive calculation application, Memory- intensive image translation application and I/ O-intensive image downloading application.展开更多

Cloud computing with flexibility, stability and scalability enables access to unlimited resources for mobile devices, so more studies have focused on cloud computingbased mobile services. Due to the stability of wireless networks, changes of Quality of Service (QoS) level and user' real-time preferences, it is becoming challenging to determine how to adaptively choose the "appropriate" service in mobile cloud computing environments. In this paper, we present an adaptive service selection method. This method first extracts user preferences from a service's evaluation and calculates the similarity of the service with the weighted Euclidean distance. Then, they are combined with user context data and the most suitable service is recommended to the user. In addition, we apply the fuzzy cognitive imps-based model to the adaptive policy, which improves the efficiency and performance of the algorithm. Finally, the experiment and simulation demonstrate that our approach is effective.展开更多

However,the cumulative pollution varies in different geographic locations and natural conditions in the enclosed bay. In this study,hydrodynamic conditions,sediment characteristics,and aquaculture methods were recognized as the underlying causes of spatial heterogeneity in the distribution of nitrogen and phosphorous pollutants,the two major controlling factors of habitat degradation in the bay area. In order to achieve the goal of balancing nutrient inputs and outputs in Sansha Bay,we developed a feasible and practical zone restoration strategy for reasonable adjustment and arrangement of aquaculture species and production scale in accordance with varying hydrodynamic conditions and sediment characteristics in six sub-bay areas(sub-systems). Seeking water and earning their livelihoods is the natural selection of human beings.Like other rivers on the earth,the Yangtze River is the birthplace of human civilization and survival.As an ecosystem,the Yangtze Ri...Seeking water and earning their livelihoods is the natural selection of human beings.Like other rivers on the earth,the Yangtze River is the birthplace of human civilization and survival.As an ecosystem,the Yangtze River Basin is evolving under the influences of natural factors and human activities.Because of soil erosion,pollution and human activities,the imbalance of secondary environment is exacerbated and the ecological environment has become more vulnerable,so it is urgent to mitigate and prevent the ecological crisis.The practice has proved that implementation of engineering measures is an effective way to improve the ecological environment.The Three Gorges Project (TGP) has a flood control storage capacity of 22.15 billion m 3,effectively storing the flood water upstream of Yichang,and protects 15 million people and 1.5 million hm 2 farmland.Furthermore,the project can prevent or slow down the sedimentation and shrinkage of the lakes in the middle Yangtze River such as Dongting Lake;with an average annual power generation of about 90 billion kW· h,it can significantly reduce the emissions of harmful gas like CO 2.In general,the construction of TGP is conducive to the ecological and environmental protection in the Yangtze River Basin and China,even the world.展开更多

The discussion was based on three research questions focusing on: the drivers and the constraints of disruption innovation strategies; the adequate social business design framework to promote innovation; and an evaluation over the practices/experiences related to disruption, innovation, and creativity in journalistic businesses. A conceptual framework the Latour/Law Actor-Network Theory (ANT) has been taken as. Six possible dimensions of action to make this framework valuable some successful practices have also been identified, and in this paper the authors view over these concepts. In order to do so, knowing what kind of problems the users could have is vital to enhance a bad interaction design. Unfortunately, a good software quality evaluation takes more time than the companies can invest. The contribution revealed in this work is a new approach to quality testing methodology focused on mobile interactions and their context in use where external capturing tools, such as cameras, are suppressed and the evaluation environments are the same as the user will use the application. Although this concern ha...The adopted 2-D SSD (stopping sight distance) adequacy investigation in current design practice may lead to design deficiencies due to inaccurate calculation of the available sight distance. Although this concern has been identified by many research studies in the past, none of them suggested a comprehensive methodology to simulate from a 3-D perspective concurrently both the cross-section design and the vehicle dynamics in space during emergency braking conditions. The proposed methodology can accurately perform SSD adequacy investigation in any 3-D road environment where the ground, road and roadside elements are inserted by identifying areas of interrupted vision lines between driver and obstacle being less than the required distance necessary to bring the vehicle to a stop condition. The present approach provides flexibility among every road design and/or vehicle dynamic parameter inserted, as well as direct overview regarding design elements that restrict the driver's vision and create SSD inadequacies. As a result, precious guidance is provided to the designer for further alignment improvement but mostly an accurate aid to implement geometric design control criteria with respect to both existing as well as new road sections is delivered. The design procedure consists of numerical modelling of the system using DELTA EC tool, Desig...The aim of this paper is to present the design and experimental validation process for a thermoacoustic looped-tube engine. The design procedure consists of numerical modelling of the system using DELTA EC tool, Design Environment for Low-amplitude ThermoAcousfic Energy Conversion, in particular the effects of mean pressure and regenerator configuration on the pressure amplitude and acoustic power generated. This is followed by the construction of a practical engine system equipped with a ceramic regenerator - a substrate used in auto- motive catalytic converters with fine square channels. The preliminary testing results are obtained and compared with the simulations in detail.The measurement results agree very well on the qualitative level and are reasonably close in the quantitative sense.展开更多
