PES-W is derived from an extension of governance analyses of 163 watershed-based PES (payments for ecosystem services) programs, and from the integrative decision mechanism of IPES (integrated payments for ecosystem services) to generalize the PES approach. PES-W reflects three interrelated perspectives fundamental to the global science of integrated water governance: (1) the ecological and economic perspective to integrate human incentives for integrated water resources governance; (2) the sociological and ecological perspective to form partnerships for meta-monitoring and recta-funding for integrated watershed governance; and (3) the scientific and sociological perspective to develop organizing botmdaries based on technology, lifestyle, entrepreneurship and organizing infrastructure for integrated aquatic ecosystem governance. This study is intended to communicate with the international scientific communities for establishing an advanced, academic, and practical multidisciplinary field of the global science of integrated water governance as a critical condition for sustainable development in human societies.展开更多

Ignoring sustainability during the cost estimating process associated with evaluation phase develops many problems of conventional decision methodology used in construction industry in the most of developing countries. This research focuses on sustainability which is the key factor in all decision making in design and construction processes. Therefore, Iraqi construction industry should respond to sustainability as a leading indicator of its infrastructure rebuilding. The construction management and sustainability could help to manage the rebuilding of the destroyed public infrastructure during the disaster wars periods passed thru thirty years ago and also to modernize of private buildings and plants. Field study has been carried out by adopting personal interviews and questionnaires conducted with experts, experienced consultants and designers working in many design organizations. The data collected has been analyzed and the results obtained show a clear weakness in the field of sustainability understanding, practicing and implementation. Moreover, the design work in Iraq is suffering from a lack of scientific techniques and a lack in experience in the domain of sustainability field. This will take an integrated approach to study the impact of sustainability on construction management which encompasses both public and private sector perspectives for building and engineering construction, and the roles played by all the participants in the construction team (owners, contractors, design professionals, and other supporting professionals).展开更多

Zakat management conducted by an organization with a set of norms promotes the development of local community organizations' function for the rural economic development activities. A case study was conducted in the Village of Patila, South Sulawesi Province. The community in this village successfully managed the selfsupporting development of social and agriculture infrastructures. Data collected were the activities of local organization of the board members of the mosque and educational development foundations, farmer group, and collective stall group. The results showed that a community truth on the mosque and educational development foundations was formed by the social infrastructure development of mosque and schools through the effectiveness of the zakat payment by rules (norms). Both development foundations could function well through the network with villagers who migrate to other island as a potential zakat payer. Strengthening the social development organization supported the development of collective stall and pump farming system. The process of social and economic development in the Village of Patila as well as social capital formation encouraged people to carry out selfsupport development activities.展开更多

Investing in urban regeneration, local governments have tried to convert cities' demographic changes (strengthening of the most educated and professionally qualified groups) in effective cultural demands that consolidate the three axes of development competitiveness-innovation-creativity. What the empirical study to the programming and communication proposals of those equipment shows is that it is not enough to provide cities with facilities; to escape to a utilitarian conception of culture, there is a whole work to be done so that such equipment be experienced and felt as new public sphere. Equipment in which proposals go through a fluid bind, constructed through space and discourse with local community, devoted a diversified and innovative bet full filling development axis. This paper presents in a systematic way what contributes to this binding on the analyzed equipment.展开更多

Some companies have decided to no longer outsource such services, managing more closely and assertively with a focus on cost reduction and delivery quality. At this point, there are many difficulties in the implementation of a structured maintenance, which results in generating effort, costs and delay in servicing internal customers. Currently, there are very few specialized courses in facility management in Brazil. The search for skills has become increasingly important taking into account increasingly competitive markets. The main objective of this article is to show the importance and the challenges of a good facility management, the impact on the Core business of the company and the risks of an implementation without well-defined processes.展开更多
