Glycerol is one of the most important biomass-based platform molecules,massively produced as a by-product in the biodiesel industry.Its high purification cost from the crude glycerol raw material limits its application and demands new strategies for valorization.Compared to the conventional thermocatalytic strategies,the electrocatalytic strategies can not only enable the selective conversion at mild conditions but also pair up the cathodic reactions for the co-production with higher efficiencies.In this review,we summarize the recent advances of catalyst designs and mechanistic understandings for the electrocatalytic glycerol oxidation(GOR),and aim to provide an overview of the GOR process and the intrinsic structural-activity correlation for inspiring future work in this field.The review is dissected into three sections.We will first introduce the recent efforts of designing more efficient and selective catalysts for GOR,especially toward the production of value-added products.Then,we will summarize the current understandings about the reaction network based on the ex-situ and in-situ spectroscopic studies as well as the theoretical works.Lastly,we will select some representative examples of creating real electrochemical devices for the valorization of glycerol.By summarizing these previous efforts,we will provide our vision of future directions in the field of GOR toward real applications. 展开更多

The objective of this research is to examine the antecedents and consequences of cost management systems (CMS) design effectiveness of manufacturing businesses in Thailand. The effect of CMS design effectiveness on cost information quality is investigated. Moreover, the effect of cost information quality on business success is investigated. Furthermore, executive management support and cost accountant competency are assumed to become the antecedents of CMS design effectiveness. Electronics manufacturing businesses in Thailand are samples of the research. A mail survey procedure via the questionnaire was used for data collection from accounting controllers. The results indicate that CMS design effectiveness has a positive significant effect on cost information quality. Moreover, cost information quality also has a positive significant effect on business success. Additionally, both executive management support and cost accountant competency have a positive significant effect on CMS design effectiveness. 展开更多

Experimental Study on Friction Characteristics of Caragana korshinskii Kom

Caragana korshinskii Kom, which is a kind of excellent shrubs, has strong resistance to windstorms, and it is also a kind of forage that is of high nutritional value as well as a forming fuel conversion resource that is of high caloric. Caragana korshinskii Kom is of high lignifications after growing for a few years and the toughness of it is considerably high. Currently in China, equipments of harvesting and processing for ripe crops can hardly finish the mechanized production for Caragana korshinskii Kom. Friction characteristics of woody material for Caragana korshinskii Kom under different conditions should be given when the relevant operation machinery is designed, which can provide physical parameters for transportation of Caragana korshinskii Kom as well as the designing of relevant machinery. The paper bases on the research of friction characteristics between Caragana korshinskii Kom whose diameter of 7, 10, and 13 mm under sampling directions of 0°, 45°,and 90° and machinery materials that are commonly used such as steel plate, rubber sheet and so on, and meanwhile the test considers factors such as different conditions of Caragana korshinskii Kom, different materials of machines, different angles and so on. The data strongly suggests that the average static, dynamic friction coefficient between Caragana korshinskii Kom and steel plate is 0.399 711 and0.353 022, respectively; The average static and dynamic friction coefficient between Caragana korshinskii Kom and rubber sheet is 0.965 178 and 0.883 667, respectively. The maximum of static and dynamic friction coefficients is when the angle between the direction of sampling and the direction of movement is vertical. As the angle increased, the dynamic and static friction coefficient decreased. The friction coefficient between Caragana korshinskii Kom and steel plate were increased with the increase of the diameter of Caragana korshinskii Kom, but the diameter have no effect on the dynamic friction coefficient between Caragana korshinskii Kom and rubber plate. The conclusion of this paper can provide references for research on machines that are relevant to transportation and particle forming of Caragana korshinskii Kom. 展开更多

Biothiols are important species in physiological processes such as regulating protein structures, redox homeostasis and cell signalling. Alternation in the biothiol levels is associated with various pathological processes, therefore non-invasive fluorescent probes with high specificity to biothiols are highly desirable research utilities. Meanwhile, fluorescent probes with aggregationinduced emission properties(AIEgens) possess unique photophysical properties that allow modulation of the sensing process through controlling the aggregation-disaggregation or the intramolecular rotational motions of the fluorophores. Herein we review the recent progress in the development of biothiol-specific AIEgens. In particular, the molecular design principles to target different types of biothiols and the corresponding sensing mechanisms are discussed, along with the potential of the future design and development of multi-functional bioprobes. 展开更多

Air cannon is a kind of de-clogging device which produces impulse force by instantly releasing the compressed air deposited in a pressure vessel. Air cannons are widely used in the transport pipes of warehouses, docks, furnaces and coal mines. In this paper, the theoretical analysis with isentropic flow hypothesis is firstly conducted on a simplified mode/ to deduce the theo- retical maximum of impulse force. And numerical study is carried out to predict the steady and unsteady impulse forces via simulating the whole exhausting process of the air cannon. The results demonstrate that the impulse force can be improved via increasing the piston sleeve inlet length and increasing the nozzle diameter. Laval nozzle can also increase the impulse force of the air without increasing the air mass flow. The optimization of the air cannon is then conducted on the basis of the theoretical and numerical analyses. Experimental measurements indicate that the computations well simulate the working process of the air cannon and the impulse force of the optimized design is 50% higher than the original model. For the cases with working pressure of 0.8 MPa, the optimized design is 60% higher than the original one. 展开更多
