To make the resulting motion realistic, the physically-based optimization method is adopted. However, the optimization process is difficult to converge to the optimal value because of high complexity of the physical human model. In order to address this problem, an appropriate simplified model automatically determined by a motion analysis technique is utilized, and then motion retargeting with this simplified model as an intermediate agent is implemented. The entire motion retargeting algorithm involves three steps of nonlinearly constrained optimization: forward retargeting, motion scaling and inverse retargeting. Analyzing the Relation Between Earthquakes and Active Faults Based on the Parameter Optimization Model 被引量:1

The gestation and occurrence of strong earthquakes are closely related to fault activity, which is not only revealed by abundant experimentation and seismism but also proved by modern seismology. On the Chinese mainland, the relation between earthquake activity and active faults is one of the bases for partitioning potential seismic sources, analyzing the seismotectoulcs and estimating location of strong earthquakes.Due to the nonuniformity of earth media, instability of observation systems and disturbance of the environment, etc, the variety of observational data is complicated, that is, there is no absolutely "normal" or "abnormal", and seismic anomalies can be divided into many mutually exdusive" abnormal states". In different conditions of combined time-spacestrength, determining seismic anomalies by different monomial forecast methods and its efficiency could be different due to the uncertainty of a precursor itself or complexity of the relationship between a precursor and earthquake gestation. It is very difficult to discover and dispose of this difference in actual application in a "two-state" model. But in a "multi-state" model, the difference can be easily reflected and the optimal combination of forecasting parameters for a forecast method can also be determined easily. Based on the "multi-state" precursory model and the optimization method for parameters of earthquake forecast model under the condition of optimal forecast efficiency, the relationship of the spatial location of earthquake with M ≥ 6.0 and active faults in three seismic belts are analyzed. The results demonstrate that in the Hetao Seismic Belt, seismicity is mostly concentrated in the range of 20 km along the fault, the optimization model can forecast the location of potential earthquakes of M ≥ 6.0 near the faults with a relatively high accuracy and the reliability is 0.5 ; while in the Qilian Mt. Seismic Belt, the reliability only reaches 0.14 when we use the model to estimate earthquakes within 30 km range along the faults. The "multi-state" precursory model, the efficiency-evaluating model and the parameter selection of individual earthquake forecast model based on optimal efficiency are of certain revelatory and practicable meanings for developing knowledge about precursors, investigating the laws of earthquake preparation and searching for optimal forecasting methods. 展开更多

In the design of chemical processes,such as catalytic cracking of bitumen and heavy oil,the knowledge of phase behavior at the critical endpoint is essential.Based on the PR equation of state,the algorithm developed by Heidemann and Khalil for calculating critical properties was used to compute critical points.An algorithm for determining the equilibrium phase of the critical point using the tangent plane criterion was developed,and was used to calculate the critical endpoints of different mixtures,including non-polar,polar and associating systems.The critical endpoint,representing the type of the phase behavior,was employed to fit the interaction parameter of mixtures in critical state at high pressure.Lines of critical endpoints for ternary mixtures were also determined with the algorithm. 展开更多

The electrode parameters of the converter are optimized by conformal mapping. A uniform optimization object function for front wheel orientation parameters of a vehicle is reported, which includes the tolerances of practical values and set values of front wheel orientation parameters under full load, and the changing value of each parameter with front wheel fluctuation to build a front suspension model for optimization analysis based on the multi-body dynamic (MD) theory. The original suspension is optimized with this model, and the variation law of each parameter with front wheel fluctuation is obtained. The results of a case study demonstrate that the front wheel orientation parameters of the optimized vehicle are reasonable under typical conditions and the variation of each parameter is in an ideal range with the wheel fluctuating within 40 mm. In addition, the driving performance is improved greatly in the road test and practical use. 展开更多

The aim of this study is to determine the effect of the main chemical components ofbiomass: cellulose, hemicel- lulose and lignin, on chemical kinetics ofbiomass pyrolysis. The experiments were designed based on a simplex- lattice mixture design. The pyrolysis was observed by using a thermogravimetric analyzer. The curves obtained from the employed analytical method fit the experimental data (R2 〉 0.9). This indicated that this method has the potential to determine the kinetic parameters such as the activation energy (E~), frequency factor (A) and re- action order (n) for each point of the experimental design. The results obtained from the simplex-lattice mixture design indicated that cellulose had a significant effect on Ea and A, and the interaction between cellulose and lignin had an important effect on the reaction order, n. The proposed models were then proved to be useful for predicting pyrolysis behavior in real biomass and so could be used as a simple approximation for predicting the overall trend of chemical reaction kinetics. 展开更多

The Influence of the Concepts of Biophilia and Biomimicry in Contemporary Architecture

The contemporary demand for reducing carbon emission is changing the way architects design buildings, thus influencing a wide range of new solutions. In this paper, the author presents a method that intends to contribute for the discussion of recent strategies that lower the buildings' consumption of energy. The study establishes three priority parameters to analyze the faqades based on the materials, the practices and the thermal behavior. Each parameter is measured separately scaled from artificial to natural building materials, local to distant practices and insulation to inertia. The design of facades has been evolving to follow complex regulations that aim to increase the required sustainable performance of buildings. Scientific data is measurable individually by each parameter, though the cross influence between parameters raise the level of complexity. Shading systems, solar passive energy influence the measurement but the growing use of renewable energies affects the measurements of energy consumption. Each design responds differently to climatic conditions, and requires complex analyses considering the specificity of the natural environment and cultural context. The discussion makes use of scientific data that influences architectural design, the research requires a broader perception thus including cultural aspects. Recent high tech insulating systems have an effect on design solutions that characterize biophilia (human love of nature). The wisdom of traditional local solutions tested over generations holds cultural aspects of biomimicry (nature as model). The aim is to discuss whether the framework based on biophilia and biomimicry is useful for the research. 展开更多

The present paper describes an optimization methodology for aerodynamic design of turbomachinery combined with a rapid 3D blade and grid generator (RAPID3DGRID), a N.S. solver, a blade parameterization method (BPM), a gradient-based parameterization-analyzing method (GPAM), a response surface method (RSM) with zooming algorithm and a simple gradient method. By the use of blade parameterization method a transonic com- pressor rotor can be expressed by a set of polynomials, and then it enables us to transform coordinate-expressed blade data to parameter-expressed and then to reduce the number of parameters. With changing any one of the parameters and by applying grid generator and N.S. solver, we can obtain several groups of samples. Here only ten parameters were considered to search an optimized compressor rotor. As a result of optimization, the adiabatic efficiency was increased by 1.73%. 展开更多
