Taking the effective allocation of resources as the starting point, a suitability evaluation system of rural settlements, based on accessibility of production and living, was proposed in this study to provide scientific basis for the optimization of production and living space. The accessibility of production and living was measured by an im- proved two-step floating catchment area method, which considered proximity and availability based on the inclination of rural residents. The suitability evaluation system consisted of traditional suitability evaluation and newly proposed limiting factor identification based on the loss score proportion of suitability. Tingzu Town of Hubei Province, China, was chosen as the case study area. Based on the re- suits of the suitability evaluation system, corresponding suggestions on rural land consolidation, industry division, as well as the layout of health care and education facilities were proposed to optimize the production and living space of rural settlements in Tingzu Town. It is found that the suitability evaluation based on accessibility of production and living is more scientific and accurate than the traditional ones which significantly overestimate production and living convenience. Moreover, the limiting factor identification can help us put forward suggestions according to local conditions and bring about the highly targeted optimization of production and living space of rural settlements.展开更多

METHODS:The SF-36 and CLDQ were administered to 160 healthy volunteers,20 subjects with chronic hepatitis B and 106 patients with cirrhosis (33 cases exhibited MHE). HRQOL scores were compared among the different study groups. The SF-36 includes eight health concepts:physical functioning,role-physical,body pain,general health,vitality,social functioning,role-emotion,and mental health. Six domains of CLDQ were assessed:abdominal symptoms,fatigue,systemic symptoms,activity,emotional function and worry. RESULTS:Compared with healthy controls (96.9 ± 4.5,86.6 ± 18.4,90.1 ± 12.5,89.0 ± 5.7,87.5 ± 4.3,95.8 ± 7.1,88.5 ± 15.9,88.7 ± 5.2 in SF-36 and 6.7 ± 0.5,6.1 ± 0.6,6.3 ± 0.6,6.5 ± 0.5,6.3 ± 0.5,6.8 ± 0.4 in CLDQ),patients with chronic hepatitis B (86.3 ± 11.0,68.8 ± 21.3,78.9 ± 14.4,60.8 ± 10.5,70.8 ± 8.6,76.1 ± 12.6,50.0 ± 22.9,72.2 ± 10.6 and 5.5 ± 1.0,4.5 ± 1.0,5.2 ± 1.1,5.3 ± 0.9,4.8 ± 0.9,4.9 ± 1.0) and cirrhosis (52.8 ± 17.4,32.8 ± 27.9,61.6 ± 18.9,30.2 ± 18.3,47.9 ± 20.1,54.0 ± 19.2,28.9 ± 26.1,51.1 ± 17.8 and 4.7 ± 1.2,3.9 ± 1.2,4.7 ± 1.2,4.7 ± 1.3,4.7 ± 1.0,4.4 ± 1.1) had lower HRQOL on all scales of the SF-36 and CLDQ (P < 0.01 for all). Increasing severity of liver cirrhosis (based on the Child-Pugh score/presence or absence of MHE) was associated with a decrease in most components of SF-36 and CLDQ,especially SF-36.CONCLUSION:The Chinese version of SF-36 along with CLDQ is a valid and reliable method for testing MHE in patients with liver cirrhosis. Cirrhosis and MHE are associated with decreased HRQOL.展开更多

The EtOAc extract was found to be the best antioxidant (IC50 = 0.4408 mg/mL) and tyrosinase inhibitor (IC50 = 1.6340 mg/mL) comparing to vitamin C (1C50 = 0.0011 mg/mL) and kojic acid (IC50 = 0.0244 mg/mL), respectively, and the highest ferulic acid content (4.450 ±0.0077 ppm). This fraction was further column chromatographed and antioxidant activity was archived (IC50 = 0.075 mg/mL) as well as tyrosinase inhibitory effect (IC50 = 0.042 mg/mL) in addition to ferulic acid (45.310 ± 0.0115 ppm). Ferulic acid in paper mulberry was compared. Reflux with H2O gave the highest ferulic acid content (37.848 ± 1.2470 ppm) followed by a mixture of MeOH and H2O (2.002 ± 0.0370 ppm) and MeOH (1.185 ± 0.0320 ppm), respectively. The reflux H2O was partitioned with EtOAc that extracted most of ferulic acid (256.678 ± 0.3760 ppm) and left less in the aqueous layer (9.408 ± 0.2820 ppm).展开更多

The film was sintered and characterised by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and chemisorption of oxygen. A culture bacterial consortium composed by gram negative rod-shaped microbes was prepared in a liquid agar in a flask. It was transported by air through a reactor equipped with a UV lamp with 3 and 5 sieves of a stainless steel wire coated with ZnO film. It was exposed in continuous in five experiments to photocatalytic advanced oxidation. The experiments showed a total efficiency for colony forming unit reduction of a maximum of 99.66% for a residence time of 20 seconds with 5 stainless steel wire where exposed in continuous to UV. Also they were evaluated at 7.5 seconds, observing that the contribution of residence time and amount of catalytic for the CFU reduction was quite similar. Variance analysis showed that the efficiency was significant with the no parametric Kruskal-Wallis test with P 〈 0.05. This technology could be used to clean indoor air of closed environments such as hospitals, crowded buildings or public transportation systems where airborne bacteria has been documented.展开更多

This study was focused on the bioassayguided phytochemical investigation, and bioactivity evaluation on a lichens species, Parmotrema cooperi. This first bioassaydirected chemical study on P. cooperi has led to the isolation of ethyl heamatomate (1), atraric acid (2), ethyl orsellinate (3), orsellinic acid (4), lecanoric acid (5), gyrophoric acid (6), and licanorin (7). The structures of 1-7 were mainly elucidated from spectroscopic methods including 1D, and 2D NMR spectroscopy, and mass spectrometry. These compounds were evaluated for their antiglycation, urease, a-chymotrypsin, and β-glucoronidase inhibitory activities. Few of the phenolic compounds showed significant, while most of them showed good inhibition of protein glycation, and urease activities.展开更多
