This paper, with the interpretation and redefinition of the concepts as consciousness, identity, and self in Murdoch's philosophy, analyzes the fragmented self of three female figures in The Flight from the Enchanter (1956) respectively from the perspectives of self-consciousness, identity, and self and reveals that the fragmentation of female selfhood is mainly due to the overwhelming male dominance in the gender relationship.展开更多

Fichte's notion of the pure I (ieh) serves as...Fichte's various articulations of the Wissenschaftslehre ("theory of scientific knowledge") are self-conscious attempts to systematize Kant's critical philosophy. Fichte's notion of the pure I (ieh) serves as the theoretical starting-point for his exposition of transcendental idealism, and in many ways this concept is analogous to Kant's notion of the transcendental unity of apperception explained in the Critique of Pure Reason. This paper argues that although Fichte and Kant agree on (1) the active nature of the pure I, (2) the distinction between pure and empirical apperception, and (3) skepticism concerning the possibility of theoretical knowledge of any positive (i.e., noumenal) content of the pure I, their respective notions of pure apperception differ in that Kant affirms the conceptual priority of the pure I to its objects while Fichte denies the same. Fichte's departure from Kant on this point foreshadows many later recognition theories of consciousness, e.g., those of Hegel and Marx.展开更多

Feminist translation theory puts forward its viewpoints on the role of...Bringing the aspect of "gender" into translation studies, feminism gave fresh impetus to the "Cultural Turn" for translation studies in 1990s. Feminist translation theory puts forward its viewpoints on the role of gender and approves of translators' gender role in the interpretation of the original text. It seems that gender is of no more importance than other factors, such as nationality, class, and ideology of translators. Translation and women have been long associated with each other for they both occupy peripheral positions. The conventional view holding sway is that a translation is considered a secondary work dependent on, and subservient to, the original text, just as women are assigned dependent functions under patriarchal power. Unsatisfied with the notion that translator, translation and women are all relegated to the inferior class, feminist translators do their utmost to cast away the conventional sexism ideas in translation studies and social ideology. The core of feminist translation theory is: "identify and critique the tangle of concepts which relegates both women and translation to the bottom of the social and literary ladder" (Simon 1996:1). In order to realize the dream to overthrow patriarchal domination and make themselves visible, feminist translators seek to emphasize their identity and ideological stance in the translation project. Feminist translators are no longer invisible. They have the right to revise, manipulate and occupy the source text. Feminist translation is nothing but the translators' creative treason from the perspective of feminism. The thesis first systematically summarizes the present feminist translation theories, followed by a detailed analysis of some gender-related translation issues, especially the relationship between language and gender. After the analysis of some cases from the feminist translators, different translation approaches adopted are explored to show the peculiar characteristics of feminist translation.展开更多
The south Gangdese region is the site of subduction of the Neo-Tethys and subsequent continental col- lision. Compared with widespread Cretaceous and Cenozoic magmatism, Early-Middle Jurassic magmatic rocks and relate...The south Gangdese region is the site of subduction of the Neo-Tethys and subsequent continental col- lision. Compared with widespread Cretaceous and Cenozoic magmatism, Early-Middle Jurassic magmatic rocks and related deposits are rarely reported, Our work identified a 〉200 km long felsic rock belt asso- ciated with Cu mineralization in the south Gangdese region. We report here zircon U-Pb ages, zircon Ce4+/Ce3+ values, and mineral assemblages of two Cu mineralized intrusions within the belt. A horn- blende granite and a diorite porphyry were emplaced at 177.3Ma and 166.3Ma, respectively. Geological occurrence and magmatic hematite-magnetite-chalcopyrite intergrowths suggest that Cu mineralization formed coeval with Jurassic intrusions. Mineralized intrusions have high zircon Ce4+/ Ce3+ and EuN/EuN ratios, and hematite-magnetite intergrowths, suggesting their parent magmas were highly oxidized, Hornblende is common and primary fluid inclusions are found in titanite and apatite, indicating their parent magmas were water-saturated and exsotved volatile phases at early stage of rnag- matic evolution. Those magma characters contribute to the formation of porphyry Cu deposits. Given that majority subduction-related porphyry Cu systems have been eroded following uplift and denudation, the well-preserved Early-Middle Jurassic cu mineralized igneous rocks in south Gangdese are favorable prospecting targets for subduction-related porphyry Cu deposits.展开更多
