The discovery of gas hydrates provides a wide sphere and a new way of thinking for finding clean and effective energy resources to replace increasingly exhausted traditional energy resources. Moreover, in our country there are a wide realm and bright prospect in the exploration of gas hydrate. This paper has summarized the progress on the study of gas hydrate. And based on the former research about gas hydrates, the integrative identification signs of gas hydrates were summarized in the aspects of seismic data, geophysical well logging, sedimentary and rock, geochemistry, topography and morphology. In the end, the author hopes it may provide some useful clues to the exploration of gas hydrate.展开更多

However, the facility was operating with a water cut of 35%. This comprehensive technical study was conducted to evaluate possibility of increasing oil processing capacity of this facility in line with current lower water cut and other operational flexibilities available in the facility without utilizing its design margin. Topic: This paper shares an innovative approach to increase name plate capacity of oil and gas processing facility utilizing available operational flexibility and operational margins with minor modification. It shares a case study where facility capacity is increased by around 19% without utilizing design margins of equipment or pipeline. Method: The study includes theoretical verification and analysis of all major equipment and piping to identify available capacity and limitation, in order to utilize available additional margin and to propose debottleneck options to overcome limitations. Achievement: The study confirmed that, facility name plate capacity can be revised from X MBOPD (with 50% w.c (water cut)) to X + 32 MBOPD (with: 45% w.c) minor modification in separator and utilizing margin available in feed specification ofdesalter trains.展开更多

Knowing where these avian migration "hot-spots" occur in time and space is vital to improve flight safety and inform the spatial planning process (e.g. environmental assessments for offshore windfarms). We developed a simple spatial model to identify avian migration hot- spots in coastal areas based on prevailing migration orientation and coastline features known, from visual and radar observations, to concentrate migrating landbirds around land masses. Regional scale model validation was achieved by combining nocturnal passerine movement data gathered from two tier radar coverage (long-range dual-polarization Doppler weather radar and short- range marine surveillance radar) and standardised bird ringing. Applied on a national scale, the model correctly identified the ten most important Danish coastal hot-spots for spring migrants and predicted the relative numbers of birds that concentrated at each site. These bird numbers corresponded well with historical observational data. Here, we provide a potential framework for the es- tablishment of the first three-dimensional avian airspace sanctuaries, which could contribute to more effective conservation of long-distance migratory birds [Current Zoology 60 (5): 680-691, 2014].展开更多
