Real and complex Schur forms have been receiving increasing attention from the fluid mechanics community recently,especially related to vortices and turbulence.Several decompositions of the velocity gradient tensor,such as the triple decomposition of motion(TDM)and normal-nilpotent decomposition(NND),have been proposed to analyze the local motions of fluid elements.However,due to the existence of different types and non-uniqueness of Schur forms,as well as various possible definitions of NNDs,confusion has spread widely and is harming the research.This work aims to clean up this confusion.To this end,the complex and real Schur forms are derived constructively from the very basics,with special consideration for their non-uniqueness.Conditions of uniqueness are proposed.After a general discussion of normality and nilpotency,a complex NND and several real NNDs as well as normal-nonnormal decompositions are constructed,with a brief comparison of complex and real decompositions.Based on that,several confusing points are clarified,such as the distinction between NND and TDM,and the intrinsic gap between complex and real NNDs.Besides,the author proposes to extend the real block Schur form and its corresponding NNDs for the complex eigenvalue case to the real eigenvalue case.But their justification is left to further investigations. 展开更多

唯识学与现象学的六个概念之间,即"识"与"意识""二空"与"悬置""二分"与"显现""自证分"与"意向性结构""现量"与"本质直观""... 唯识学与现象学的六个概念之间,即"识"与"意识""二空"与"悬置""二分"与"显现""自证分"与"意向性结构""现量"与"本质直观""真如"与"事物本身"等,其意涵有一定交接,但似是而非。第一,"识"具有判断、明辨的认识功能,还可以转成"八识",前五识是感觉功能,第六识是意识,第七识是自我意识,第八识阿赖耶识是宇宙万有的总摄,具有永恒性。阿赖耶识此义近似于西方哲学的logos和中国哲学的"道""无",无法翻译。可见"识"与现象学的"意识"差异之巨大。第二,唯识学主张"万法唯识""我、法二空"。"二空"说是形上学。现象学"悬置"说是方法论,即假设万物皆"空"。可见"悬置"和"二空"具有方法论与形上学的本质不同。第三,唯识学认为世界万物都是"识""变"而来,呈现为"见分"和"相分"。这不仅是一种意识活动,还包括情感、心理等因素,因此不仅是认识意义上的,还有本体论、存在论的意义。现象学的"显现"说,意在描述对象事物在意识的呈现过程中具有意义意向性特点。可见"二分"与"显现"之差异。第四,唯识学的自证分就是八识自体。自证分是体,"二分"是用,体用一如。这与魏晋玄学体用一如思想基本相同,于意义生成没有直接关系。现象学所谓"意向性结构"是意识的本质特征,表明意识活动都是指向性的。因此,唯识学自证分与现象学意向性结构两个概念基本不能对应。第五,唯识学"现量"是指认知活动中认知主体亲身在场、当下感知,与六识、三性、百法交接,绝不是纯粹意识,不具有普遍性。而从佛教角度说,"现量"在所得智下所观照的也不是物理现实世界。现象学"本质直观"是指认知主体经过"悬置"之后的纯粹意识,对于对象事物所进行的观照活动。在这个过程中要绝对排除对象的物理性存在,只关注事物普遍性的"本质",绝非个性化的认知结果。可见"现量"与"本质直观"之间很难找到相同点。第六,唯识学最高目标是证得"真如",方法是修行。现象学根本目标是解决认识中"意义"确定性问题,回到"事物本身",属于哲学认识论。以上六个概念展示的根本理论差异,凸显出唯识学与现象学之间不可逾越的理论鸿沟,还揭示出以日常经验为基础的公元7世纪佛教认知体系描述,与在现代科学背景下的20世纪认知体系描述的本质不同。 展开更多

The boundary identification and quantitative thickness prediction of channel sand bodies are always difficult in seismic exploration.We present a new method for boundary identification and quantitative thickness prediction of channel sand bodies based on seismic peak attributes in the frequency domain.Using seismic forward modeling of a typical thin channel sand body,a new seismic attribute-the ratio of peak frequency to amplitude was constructed.Theoretical study demonstrated that seismic peak frequency is sensitive to the thickness of the channel sand bodies,while the amplitude attribute is sensitive to the strata lithology.The ratio of the two attributes can highlight the boundaries of the channel sand body.Moreover,the thickness of the thin channel sand bodies can be determined using the relationship between seismic peak frequency and thin layer thickness.Practical applications have demonstrated that the seismic peak frequency attribute can depict the horizontal distribution characteristics of channels very well.The ratio of peak frequency to amplitude attribute can improve the identification ability of channel sand body boundaries.Quantitative prediction and boundary identification of channel sand bodies with seismic peak attributes in the frequency domain are feasible. 展开更多

In principal component analysis (PCA) algorithms for face recognition, to reduce the influence of the eigenvectors which relate to the changes of the illumination on abstract features, a modified PCA (MPCA) algorithm is proposed. The method is based on the idea of reducing the influence of the eigenvectors associated with the large eigenvalues by normalizing the feature vector element by its corresponding standard deviation. The Yale face database and Yale face database B are used to verify the method. The simulation results show that, for front face and even under the condition of limited variation in the facial poses, the proposed method results in better performance than the conventional PCA and linear discriminant analysis (LDA) approaches, and the computational cost remains the same as that of the PCA, and much less than that of the LDA. 展开更多

Aim Using animals as object of experiment to acquire various patterns of low cerebral blood pressure and reduced blood capacity in cerebral tissues of astronauts due to the load of acceleration. Methods The isotope tracking technique was applied to mark the blood and record the dynamic curves of cerebral blood flow changes under various accelerations, and the relevant mathematical model was set up using the method of system recognition. Also the method of factor analyzing was used to select two out of the data collected by eight sensors as two factors. Results One of the two factors reflects the various patterns in the astronaut's upper body, the other for the lower body. Parameters of rise time, delay time and steady value reflect the results under different acceleration. Conclusion Whether for the upper body or the lower body, blood flow changes can be considered as a second order system model. This method provides a new technique and method of doing research on astronaut's endurance of acceleration and selecting astronauts. 展开更多

This method is especially designed for mandarin speaker dependent small size word set recognition. It has less complexity, less resource consumption but higher ARR (accurate recognition rate) compared with traditional HMM or NN approach. A large scale test on the task of 11 mandarin digits recognition shows that the WER(word error rate) can reach 3 86%. This method is suitable for being embedded in PDA (personal digital assistant), mobile phone and so on to perform voice controlling like digits dialing, name dialing, calculating, voice commanding, etc. 展开更多

Both binary class discrimination and the multi class discrimination are discussed. It proves that the emotional features construct a nonlinear problem in the input space, and SVMs based on nonlinear mapping can solve it more effectively than other linear methods. Multi class classification based on SVMs with a soft decision function is constructed to classify the four emotion situations. Compared with principal component analysis (PCA) method and modified PCA method, SVMs perform the best result in multi class discrimination by using nonlinear kernel mapping. 展开更多

In order to solve the fatigue damage identification problem of helicopter moving components, a new approach for acoustic emission (AE) source type identification based on the harmonic wavelet packet (HWPT) feature extraction and the hierarchy support vector machine (H-SVM) classifier is proposed. After a four-level decomposition of the HWPT, the energy feature of AE signals in different frequency bands is extracted, which overcomes the shortcomings of the traditional wavelet packet including energy leakage, and inflexible frequency band selection and different frequency resolutions on different levels. The H-SVM classifier is trained with a subset of the experimental data for known AE source types and tested using the remaining set of data. The results of pressure-off experiments on the specimens of carbon fiber materials indicate that the proposed approach can effectively implement the AE source type identification, and has a better performance in terms of computational efficiency and identification accuracy than the wavelet packet (WPT) feature extraction. 展开更多

Matrix principal component analysis (MatPCA), as an effective feature extraction method, can deal with the matrix pattern and the vector pattern. However, like PCA, MatPCA does not use the class information of samples. As a result, the extracted features cannot provide enough useful information for distinguishing pat- tern from one another, and further resulting in degradation of classification performance. To fullly use class in- formation of samples, a novel method, called the fuzzy within-class MatPCA (F-WMatPCA)is proposed. F-WMatPCA utilizes the fuzzy K-nearest neighbor method(FKNN) to fuzzify the class membership degrees of a training sample and then performs fuzzy MatPCA within these patterns having the same class label. Due to more class information is used in feature extraction, F-WMatPCA can intuitively improve the classification perfor- mance. Experimental results in face databases and some benchmark datasets show that F-WMatPCA is effective and competitive than MatPCA. The experimental analysis on face image databases indicates that F-WMatPCA im- proves the recognition accuracy and is more stable and robust in performing classification than the existing method of fuzzy-based F-Fisherfaces. 展开更多

Early-stage Internet traffic identification based on packet payload size

In order to classify the Intemet traffic of different Internet applications more quickly, two open Internet traffic traces, Auckland I1 and UNIBS traffic traces, are employed as study objects. Eight earliest packets with non-zero flow payload sizes are selected and their payload sizes are used as the early-stage flow features. Such features can be easily and rapidly extracted at the early flow stage, which makes them outstanding. The behavior patterns of different Intemet applications are analyzed by visualizing the early-stage packet size values. Analysis results show that most Internet applications can reflect their own early packet size behavior patterns. Early packet sizes are assumed to carry enough information for effective traffic identification. Three classical machine learning classifiers, classifier, naive Bayesian trees, i. e., the naive Bayesian and the radial basis function neural networks, are used to validate the effectiveness of the proposed assumption. The experimental results show that the early stage packet sizes can be used as features for traffic identification. 展开更多

[Objective] The aim was to study the feature extraction of stored-grain insects based on ant colony optimization and support vector machine algorithm, and to explore the feasibility of the feature extraction of stored-grain insects. [Method] Through the analysis of feature extraction in the image recognition of the stored-grain insects, the recognition accuracy of the cross-validation training model in support vector machine (SVM) algorithm was taken as an important factor of the evaluation principle of feature extraction of stored-grain insects. The ant colony optimization (ACO) algorithm was applied to the automatic feature extraction of stored-grain insects. [Result] The algorithm extracted the optimal feature subspace of seven features from the 17 morphological features, including area and perimeter. The ninety image samples of the stored-grain insects were automatically recognized by the optimized SVM classifier, and the recognition accuracy was over 95%. [Conclusion] The experiment shows that the application of ant colony optimization to the feature extraction of grain insects is practical and feasible. 展开更多

The methods of visual recognition,positioning and orienting with simple 3 D geometric workpieces are presented in this paper.The principle and operating process of multiple orientation run length coding based on general orientation run length coding and visual recognition method are described elaborately.The method of positioning and orientating based on the moment of inertia of the workpiece binary image is stated also.It has been applied in a research on flexible automatic coordinate measuring system formed by integrating computer aided design,computer vision and computer aided inspection planning,with a coordinate measuring machine.The results show that integrating computer vision with measurement system is a feasible and effective approach to improve their flexibility and automation. 展开更多

In order to derive the linac photon spectrum accurately both the prior constrained model and the genetic algorithm GA are employed using the measured percentage depth dose PDD data and the Monte Carlo simulated monoenergetic PDDs where two steps are involved.First the spectrum is modeled as a prior analytical function with two parameters αand Ep optimized with the GA.Secondly the linac photon spectrum is modeled as a discretization constrained model optimized with the GA. The solved analytical function in the first step is used to generate initial solutions for the GA’s first run in this step.The method is applied to the Varian iX linear accelerator to derive the energy spectra of its 6 and 15 MV photon beams.The experimental results show that both the reconstructed spectrums and the derived PDDs with the proposed method are in good agreement with those calculated using the Monte Carlo simulation. 展开更多

Some dimensionality reduction (DR) approaches based on support vector machine (SVM) are proposed. But the acquirement of the projection matrix in these approaches only considers the between-class margin based on SVM while ignoring the within-class information in data. This paper presents a new DR approach, call- ed the dimensionality reduction based on SVM and LDA (DRSL). DRSL considers the between-class margins from SVM and LDA, and the within-class compactness from LDA to obtain the projection matrix. As a result, DRSL can realize the combination of the between-class and within-class information and fit the between-class and within-class structures in data. Hence, the obtained projection matrix increases the generalization ability of subsequent classification techniques. Experiments applied to classification techniques show the effectiveness of the proposed method. 展开更多

The present work studies the chemical constituents from marine-derived streptomyces 3320^# and their antitumor activities. The present work studies the chemical constituents from marine-derived streptomyces 3320^# and their antitumor activities. The n-BuOH extract of the ferment broth of 3320^# was chromatographed on silica gel, Sephadex LH-20, ODS columns and HPLC to separate the compounds with antitoumor activities. Their structures were identified using IR, UV, NMR, MS spectroscopic techniques and compared with published data. The antitumor activities of the isolates were assayed using SRB method and flow cytometry assay, accompanied with the morphological observation of the cells under light micro- scope against mammalian tsFT210 cells. Ten compounds, cyclo-(Ala-Leu) 1, cyclo-(Ala-Ile) 2, cyclo-(Ala-Val) 3, cyclo- (Phe-Pro) 4, cyclo-(Phe-Gly)5, cyclo-(Leu-Pro)6, 1-methyl-1, 2, 3, 4-tetrahydro-β-carboline-3-carboxylic acid 7, N-(4- hydroxyphenethyl) acetamide 8, 4-methyoxy-l-(2-hydroxy) ethylbenzene 9 and uridine 10, were isolated from the ferment broth of streptomyces 3320^# . Among them, compounds 6, 7, 8 and 10 showed potent cytotoxicity against the tsFT210 cell with the IC50 values of 3.6, 7.2, 5.2 and 1.6 mmol L-1, respectively. Compounds 8, 10 also exhibited apoptosis inducing activity under 2.0 mmol L-1. Compounds 6, 7, 8 and 10 are the principle bioactive constituents responsible for the antitumor activities of marine streptomyces 3320^#. Compound 7 was isolated from this species for the first time. 展开更多
