Images were analyzed jointly by two experienced radiologists blinded to the opposite examination results, including the existence or not of APS, shunt locations, types and degrees of APS, with or without thrombosis. RESULTS: There were 56 APS associated with HCC, including 48 central, seven peripheral and one mixed, or 42 severe, seven moderate, seven mild APS. Fortyone severe, seven moderate and central APS were all revealed with MDCT and DSA. Seven mild and peripheral APS were all displayed with MDCT; only five of them displayed DSA, two faint shunt APS associated with massive HCC were missed. One mixed APS was demonstrated as severe combined with mild shunt with both MDCT and DSA.CONCLUSION: MDCT could diagnose not only DSA revealed APS, but also missed mild and peripheral APS with DSA due to faint shunt associated with massive HCC, is a simple, effective and noninvasive new technique for diagnosis of HCC-associated APS.展开更多

There is a tremendous difference in elasticity between normal and pathological tissues. Noninvasive evaluation of the elasticity of human tissues would be valuable for clinical practice. Magnetic resonance elastography(MRE)is a recently developed noninvasive imaging technique that can directly visualize and quantitatively measure tissue elasticity. This article reviewed the MRE technique and its current status.展开更多

Due to the recent developments in diagnostic techniques and instrumentation, the early detection of gastric carcinoma (GC) has increased. Yet synchronous multiple primary gastric carcinomas, de- fined as 2 or more primary gastric carcinomas occurring in 1 patient simultaneously, are not frequently seen. The etiology of synchronous tumors is still unclear, and their coexistence can be problematic for surgeons, oncologists and pathologists in regards to diagnosis, treat- ment, and follow-up. Research has focused mainly on such issues as the frequency of occurrence of primary multiple carcinomas, identi- fication of high-risk groups, early diagnosis, treatment methods, and prognostic factors. The purpose of this article is to present a rare case of synchronous tumors and to review the literature addressing the surgical treatment for patients with multiple cancers.展开更多

Pancreatic cystic neoplasms are being identified in increasing numbers, probably because of the frequent use of radiology and advances in endoscopic techniques. However, they are composed of a variety of neoplasms with a wide range of malignant potential, and it is often difficult to differentiate pancreatic tuberculosis mimicking cystic neoplasms from benign or malignant pancreatic cystic neoplasms. Non-surgical diagnosis of pancreatic tuberculosis is inconclusive and continues to be a challenge in many cases. If so, then laparotomy should be employed to establish the diagnosis. Therefore, pancreatic tuberculosis should be kept in mind during the differential diagnosis of solitary cystic masses in the pancreas. We report a patient who had solitary pancreatic tuberculosis masquerading as pancreatic serous cystadenoma.展开更多
