A new bra...The main disadvantage of conventional ureteral stents commonly used to provide urinary drainage after urological practice is that the patients have to undergo a secondary surgical procedure to remove stents. A new braided thin-walled biodegradable ureteral stent composed of PGA （ polyglycolic acid） and PLGA （ eopolymer of polylactic and polygiycolic acid） mnltifilaments was evaluated in v/tro in this study. In vitro degradation was performed in artificial urine with pH of 5.8 and the temperature of 37~C. The mass loss, mechanical properties, and morphology were observed at different degradaing time intervals of 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 weeks. The stent had a thinner wail than those of other degradable stents and provided better mechanical properties. The braided thin-walled biodegradable ureteral stents began to degrade after 2 weeks. At the week of 5, the stents were fully degraded. The degradative process of stents is smooth and well controlled.展开更多

Early detection and accurate preoperative staging of gastric cancer is essential for planning optimal therapy such as endoscopic mucosal resection or gastric resection and offers the best prognosis. With advanced technology in diagnostic instruments and the mass screening, early gastric cancer has been detected easier. One-point cancer of gastric is a special type of early gastric cancer. Diagnosis of one-point cancer of gastric is important for both the immediate treatment and the prognosis. There is still no consensus on the operation extent and postoperative treatment for patients with one-point cancer of gastric. Learned from previous reports, we know that existed in the superficial layer of the gastric mucosa and the superficial ulcer is one of the important characteristics of one point cancer of gastric. Herein, we report a case of one point cancer of gastric with the appearance of a deep infiltrating ulcer. To the best of our knowledge, no such type of one point cancer of gastric has been reported.展开更多
OBJECTIVE: To assess the impact of classic massage on the changes in the values of blood pressure in women with previously diagnosed hypertension.METHODS: The study involved a group of ten women aged 60-68, who had pr...OBJECTIVE: To assess the impact of classic massage on the changes in the values of blood pressure in women with previously diagnosed hypertension.METHODS: The study involved a group of ten women aged 60-68, who had previously been diagnosed with hypertension. Ten sessions of classic massage of the lower limbs were performed on the subjects. The massage sessions were conducted every day over ten consecutive days. Throughout the treatment, the subjects' blood pressure was measured using a manometer with a stethoscope TRO-CARDIO KIT 2 MONO. Their blood pressure was taken 1 min before the massage, as well as 1 min and5 min after each session. The study took place between March and June 2013 in Szpital Specjalistyczny im. J?drzeja ?niadeckiego(J?drzej ?niadecki Specialist Hospital) in Nowy S?cz, at the Department of Internal Diseases.RESULTS: For ten consecutive days, the blood pressure values in the examined women were decreasing, with the exception of the diastolic blood pressure measured 5 min after the massage.CONCLUSION: The drops in blood pressure by several percent, noted in the majority of the female subjects over the time of the study. Classic massage might provide a safe supportive measure in pharmacologic treatment of hypertension.展开更多
