The city of London, as a physical space, a world in the Alfred Tennyson's Cleopatra's Nee history to Tennyson's Victorian Lo globe, is changing dle, the flow of tid ndon. The Needle through both inner time and outer time. Firstly, in Lord e symbolises the passing time, through the long Egyptian has been through different seas and places. The sense of history, a fusion of inner time and outer time, is claimed by the Needle's subjective self, seeing London as a "monster town". Secondly, Ahren Wamer's Greek titled poem is trying to locate the one in London, which cannot be localized, in the trend of globalization, as the gazer observed on the bus. Struggling between the self and the other, inner and outer existences, happiness and being unhappy, W. B. Yeats' from Vacillation comes to show the reader that through reflection and memory, the sense of one's own self can be reinforced and affirmed, while creating one's own personal history. Last but not the least, I read a part from T. S. Eliot's Four Quartets As the dialectic of light and shadow plays a sense of Beauty, the soul is aware of all fancy things, but only without any meanings. In the same way, when examples of folk literature composed by composers and performed by poets and a^lks are examined, it is observed that there are parallels between literary features and form, structure and rhythmic features. Taiwan, this article will investigate how they de-contextualize Greek Epic Iliad with an eclectic collage of the tropes of Greek epic, the techniques of environmental theater and Taiwan Residents local opera, and the aesthetics of Taiwan Residents indigenous rituals and Pili Puppetry. It will discuss how the performers transform Greek epic into a Taiwan Residents allegory in search of Taiwan Residents cultural roots and identities. Furthermore, in the cultural encounter between the East and the West, multiple folds of significance will be explored through their hybridized performance genres and rituals as well as symbolic interaction in various performance venues with different historical and cultural legacies.展开更多
Tsangyang Gyatso's poems were widely circulated and still enjoy popularity. He was an influential living Buddha (Renpoche) in Tibetan Buddhism and a talented and legendary historical figure. Nowadays, more and more...Tsangyang Gyatso's poems were widely circulated and still enjoy popularity. He was an influential living Buddha (Renpoche) in Tibetan Buddhism and a talented and legendary historical figure. Nowadays, more and more scholars, poets and translators have devoted to the study of his works. Here we will focus on discussing the English translation of his poems and their value. We analyze texts of the Tsangyang Gyatso's Poems (Chinese-English) and seek to further study the translation principles such as "retaining truth, seeking goodness and preserving beauty". By doing this, we strive to improve the quality of translation, give consideration to the construction of the four elements such as poetic meaning, emotion, tone and intention, to enable the reader to achieve the senses and the acquisition of images, to provide more perfect translation in the "Tsangyang Gyatso Vogue", to promote the dissemination and sharing of Tibetan culture and to inject new vitality.展开更多
