A new scheme named personalized image retrieval technique based on visual perception is proposed in this letter, whose motive is to narrow the semantic gap by directly perceiving user's visual information. It uses visual attention model to segment image regions and eye-tracking technique to record fixations. Visual perception is obtained by analyzing the fixations in regions to measure gaze interests. Integrating visual perception into attention model is to detect the Regions Of Interest (ROIs), whose features are extracted and analyzed, then feedback interests to optimize the results and construct user profiles. 展开更多

Aiming at the problem that current geographical information systems(GIS)usually does not maintain semantic and user-defined constraints out of three consistency-constrains(third refers to topology constraint),this research focuses on building an efficient spatial data management system using two constraint violation detection methods.An algorithm for constraint violation detection has been derived to maintain the error-free up-to-date spatial database.Results indicate that the developed constraint violation detection(CVD)system is more efficient compared with conventional systems. 展开更多

The integration of remote sensing (RS) with geographical information system (GIS) is a hotspot in geographical information science.A good database structure is important to the integration of RS with GIS,which should be beneficial to the complete integration of RS with GIS,able to deal with the disagreement between the resolution of remote sensing images and the precision of GIS data,and also helpful to the knowledge discovery and exploitation.In this paper,the database structure storing the spatial data based on semantic network is presented.This database structure has several advantages.Firstly,the spatial data is stored as raster data with space index,so the image processing can be done directly on the GIS data that is stored hierarchically according to the distinguishing precision.Secondly,the simple objects are aggregated into complex ones.Thirdly,because we use the indexing tree to depict the relationship of aggregation and the indexing pictures expressed by 2_D strings to describe the topology structure of the objects,the concepts of surrounding and region are expressed clearly and the semantic content of the landscape can be illustrated well.All the factors that affect the recognition of the objects are depicted in the factor space,which provides a uniform mathematical frame for the fusion of the semantic and non_semantic information.Lastly,the object node,knowledge node and the indexing node are integrated into one node.This feature enhances the ability of system in knowledge expressing,intelligent inference and association.The application shows that this database structure can benefit the interpretation of remote sensing image with the information of GIS. 展开更多

The paper considers the problem of semantic processing of web documents by designing an approach, which combines extracted semantic document model and domain- related knowledge base. The knowledge base is populated with learnt classification rules categorizing documents into topics. Classification provides for the reduction of the dimensio0ality of the document feature space. The semantic model of retrieved web documents is semantically labeled by querying domain ontology and processed with content-based classification method. The model obtained is mapped to the existing knowledge base by implementing inference algorithm. It enables models of the same semantic type to be recognized and integrated into the knowledge base. The approach provides for the domain knowledge integration and assists the extraction and modeling web documents semantics. Implementation results of the proposed approach are presented. 展开更多

Currently, the OGC GML (Geography Markup Language) specification has been the de facto standard for GIS data sharing and exchanging and spatial interoperation. Adopting nested association expression approach of XML data, GML data documents can store both spatial information and semantic relationship information of geographical elements. To improve the efficiency of path query on GML two type information, the paper describes a holistic index method for GML data, which we call EKR^+ (optimized R+-tree base on Extend Region Code and K-means extent partition of GML feature elements). The experiment results show that the efficiency of semantic-spatial query can be improved greatly by utilizing EKR^+. 展开更多
