Peripheral linguistic landscapes such as protest banners, vehicle advertisements, graffiti, and street art have also gained attention. However, postcards, which are seen as peripheral linguistic landscapes, are largely underexplored in China, especially from a multimodal and semiotic perspective. To fill this gap, this study applies the concept of intermodal complementarity to analyze the distribution and presentation of multimodalities in postcards from librairie avant-garde in Nanjing. It aims to explore the linguistic meanings conveyed by the peripheral linguistic landscape of postcards. This research aims to enrich the study of peripheral linguistic landscapes.展开更多
