任务型教学法在课外英语教学中的应用探讨

课外英语学习小组是正常英语教学的补充。针对学生就业岗位、真实生活等方面设计课外英语学习任务,在课外英语教学中采用任务型教学法进行教学、小组合作学习方式进行学习,将会收到良好的学习效果。

小学英语课外阅读教学模式研究

小学英语课外阅读教学作为小学英语学习的延伸,对于小学英语教学也是十分重要的。由于我国受到应试教育影响,在以往的小学英语教学模式中,老师们通常只重视学生们单词、语法的学习,却忽视了对于学生们课外阅读能力的培养,由此导致小学生们的阅读和写作能力比较差,英语综合能力不高。因此应该加强小学英语课外阅读能力,老师们也要学习关于小学英语课外阅读教学的模式。随着学生们课外阅读能力的增强,不但可以提高学生们的词汇阅读量,还可以培养学生们良好的英语学习习惯,增加其学习英语的兴趣,提高小学生们的英语综合能力。

高校图书馆外文阅览室与英语协作教学辅导

根据"协作教学"的理念,创造性地提出"高校图书馆外文阅览室与外语系英语协作教学辅导"的方法,协助高校英语教师搞好课外辅导,以提高入校新生英语水平,解决学生课内外英语学习理论与实践方面的问题,让学生通过课堂学习和图书馆外文阅览室工作人员结合自身知识和馆内资源分组进行针对性课外辅导。

Question-Generation Reading Strategy of Iranian EFL Learners

This paper tries to explore the effect of question-generation reading strategy on the reading comprehension of Iranian intermediate EFL （English as a Foreign Language） learners. Since the researchers did not have any control over randomization of students and it was considered as one of the features of experimental method, this study is not a true experimental method. This method is called Intact Group Study. In this research there were experimental and control groups. The age range of the learners in both groups was between 19 to 22; the age range difference was so limited that we could neglect the difference concem. The number of students in both groups was closely the same. One of these groups received question-generation reading strategy instruction and the other group---control group--did not receive this instruction. Participants in both groups studied a task-based course book called New Interchange 3 by Richards （2005）. They studied the last eight units of this book during a whole term. The instruction was the same for both groups except for the reading parts. Participants in experimental group were taught how to generate questions as being linked to the main ideas of the text they were reading. They were also given feedback on the correctness of the questions they generated. Then they answered the follow-up questions However, participants in control group received a traditional method of reading for comprehension; they read the text on their own and answered the follow-up questions. Of course both groups enjoyed a warm-up before reading each text. The statistical independent group T-test of the reading comprehension posttest showed that participants in the experimental group performed better than the students in the control group

Facilitating Accessibility for EFL Learners to Articulation Through Praat

Acoustic terms are useful academic tools to help EFL （English as a Foreign Language） learners to perceive pronunciation visually. Pratt is worldewide famous free acoustic professional software applied to the articulation with the help of the graph of ampplitude plotted and spectrogram. The paper will apply the professional acoustic tool Praat to pronunciation pedagogy to facilitate discrimination and articulation and suggests that the program can be adapted for the teaching of pronunciation to Chinese EFL learners.

Are Terms ＂African（s）＂ or ＂Black（s）＂ Appropriate Substitutes for ＂Bantu（s）＂ in the South African Context？

The name, ＂Bantu＂, is a classificatory term which refers to a sub-group of the Niger-Congo languages, i.e., the Benue-Congo group of languages, which are spoken extensively in the equatorial and southern part of Africa, as well as the family of peoples speaking these languages. As a result of its association with racism during the Apartheid regime in South Africa, the term was heavily politicized and lost its original meaning to acquire racist connotations. In South Africa, the names ＂African（s）＂ or ＂Black（s）＂ are used as substitutes for the stigmatized name ＂Bantu（s）＂ with reference to the Bantu speaking peoples and their languages. This research investigates the use of the words, ＂Africans＂ and ＂Blacks＂ to assess their suitability as replacements for the word ＂Bantu＂. An intensive outline of the classification of the languages of Africa is given to authenticate the basic meaning of these classificatory terms, especially the term ＂Bantu＂

What Motivate Them to Speak More A Study on Students＇ Perspective

This study is about factors that may facilitate students＇ willingness to speak more in English class. Previous research has shown certain factors would increase class participation from educators＇ view, while in this paper, a survey was designed to find out what students themselves think would motivate them to speak more in class. The survey was given to a group of grade 9 students in a middle school in China. Among the elements that were selected in the survey, the result shows students tend to favor a friendly relationship with the teacher, a warm learning atmosphere, a lively teaching style, and variety interesting learning activities as well as supplemental materials in terms of more verbal participation. The finding reinforces the previous studies on these factors＇ positive roles in promoting students＇ motivation to speak more. This paper is expected to serve as a resource for professionals who work in the relevant area and draw more attention from educators, in particular those in the China context, on this topic

Using Drama Activities in Language Teaching in EFL

Drama is a powerful tool in language teaching. It develops students＇ ability to think and improves their communication skills. It raises their self-esteem when they develop confidence through active participation. Dramatisation also promotes students＇ creativity and encourages group cooperation. The paper offers some tips on how to integrate drama activities in the language classroom to make the lesson more meaningful. This paper concludes that students who role-play the characters in a play can better interpret the affective component of the text and gain a better understanding of the key scenes as they enact them through the dramatic form.

Communicative Approach in College English Teaching

The basic insight of Communicative Language Teaching is that language can be thought of as a tool for communication, and language teaching should be student-centered to cultivate their communicative competence. This paper explains the main methods in Communicative Language Teaching in college integrated English teaching, and elaborates that the teaching methods and classroom activities of the curriculum should be designed to develop students＇ communicative capability.

Factors Contributing to the Effectiveness of a University-Industry Partnership

The university-industry engagement serves as a cooperation that gives benefit to both parties. The universities and the industries are dependent on each other as the university＇s role is to produce human capitals to work at the industries, and the industries on the other hand need human capitals to run their business. However, this kind of dependency could raise issues that cause difficulties for both parties if the relationship is not checked and balanced from time to time. The universities should be aware of the industries＇ changing needs as time changes. Hence the programmes that they offer to their students should take into consideration the industries＇ needs. This research was to identify the current practices of the university-industry engagement, to appraise the factors contributing to the effectiveness of the university-industry engagement involving UMP （Universiti Malaysia Pahang） and the identified industries, to map the prospects and challenges that UMP faces in the university-industry engagement and to propose the best approaches that the university could engage to provide high class human capitals to work at the industries. This research employed a survey in the form of interviews and expert group discussions. The results show that there is still a mismatch in the university-industry engagement. The representatives from the industries felt that they should be actively involved in the university＇s activities, especially in teaching, learning and industrial training for students. They had given a few suggestions to be forwarded to the university

The Enlightenment of Metaphors in Titles on English Writing Teaching

Based on non-English majors＇ textbooks, this paper discusses the functions of metaphors in titles of texts and places a major emphasis on enlightenment of metaphors in titles on English writing teaching. And through analyzing metaphors in titles, it is suggested that in daily writing teaching, teachers should bear the cultivation of students＇ metaphorical thinking from analyzing titles in mind; teachers also design some writing tasks with metaphors in titles and select textbooks with metaphor-rich texts

Research Summary （2004-2014） on College English Teaching from the Perspective of Dynamic Foreign Language Curriculum Theory

From the perspective of dynamic foreign language curriculum theory, this paper combs, summarizes and reviews the number, contents and topics of the College English Teaching research in China from 2004 to 2014. On the basis of the research above, this paper puts forward the proposal that college curriculum planning, implementation and evaluation should be put into China＇s social, political, economic and cultural backgrounds, and the dynamic ecological system of College English Teaching should be established by using information technology so as to cultivate high-end foreign language talents.

Dreaming a Possible Dream： Getting Thai Students to Speak in English in a Public Speaking Class

The paper is an analysis of how much success Thai teachers of English have had throughout four decades of teaching English as a Foreign Language （TEFL） and the future direction to take. Thai teachers are aware that their students are not confident of their speaking abilities. That is why they try to avoid making mistakes in pronunciation and connected speech making as mistakes are taken as signs of inability. It is a common sight in an English class that Thai students prefer to remain in their comfort zone of using the Thai language. Speaking is a productive skill; teaching someone to speak cannot be successfully done through listening to the ＂how to＂ lecture. The author proposes that to dream a possible dream, the teachers need to change their course design to adopt the goals of English for communication and enhancement of soft skills such as networking skill, teamwork skill, self-management skill, creativity, and work attitude. An example of a course design used is discussed with the underlining learning theories for the course, the course organization, and the fruits of this endeavor. This course is adopting the ＂Teach Less and Learn More＂ approach, a route to take for real learning.

The Application of 3D Modeling Technology in Indoor Decoration Design

Nowadays, a large amount of thinking and inspiration which can＇t be expressed by words and drawings has been realized because of the rapid development of computer graphics. 3D is one of the technology drawn much attention in the field of interior design, in the meantime, 3D technology is also the development direction of Chinese interior design in new age. Those design concepts which can only be expressed with words will be accomplished by computer through 3D modeling technology. The interior design applying 3D technology meets psychological need of people＇s indoor life quality, environment atmosphere, and style.This paper made a design of the medium and small house model has been realized through the application platform of the Auto CAD, 3 D Max, Vray, and Premiere Pro.

Semantic Complex Event Detection System of Express Delivery Business with Data Support From Multidimensional Space

The express delivery induslry of China is relatively backward in the automation degree of critical business processes. The basic reason is that the business-related supporting data, which is scattered in the multidimensional space, is difficult to utilize and process. This paper proposes an automatic data acquisition fi-amework to resolve such difficulty, which synthetically utilize intelligent inemet of things （IoT）, semantic web and complext event processing （CEP） technology. We also implement a SCEP prototype system with the capability of real-time detecting complex business events on the goods sorting line, which adopts a detection method consisting of four stages. The simulation results show that the system has good performance and feasible enough to deal with the complex business which need data support fTom multidimensional space.

An Influencing Factor - Water-Filter Ratio on Heat Resistance of Condensate Polishing Filter Material in Water

In air-cooled condenser, high temperature condensing water m summer which approaching and exceed 60＊ C, which may result in filter materials degradation and release impurities. This paper discusses an influencing factor, water-filter ratio （soaking solution and filter quality ratio）, on leachable dissolution rate and filter material degradation rate m high temperature water. The UV absorption at 254nm （A254） and the exchange capacity ware measured after heat test as composite indicators. In addition, the Wends of A254 variation with heating time were measured in different water-filter ratio. The stability is probably due to the effect of water-filter ratio. This has been further borne out that, water-filter ratio increases, leachable concentration decreases exponentially and tends to a fLxed value.

The impact of Electroacupuncture on chronic stress which induced depression rats＇ hippocampal structure and function of AST under light microscope

[Objective]The antidepressant mechanism of EA in repairing damaged areas of astrocytes. [Methods]66 adult female SD rats were randomly divided into four groups. The normal control group only for normal feeding, the other three groups adopt long-term chronic unpredictable mild stimulation singly housed jointly, establishing model of depression. Blank group, atter modeling successfully with no treatment; electro-acupuncture group, in the successful modeling begins the day after electro-acupuncture treatment four passes points, selecting a continuous wave electro-acupuncture device, alternating left and right points, continuous 21 days. Drug group, on the day after the successful modeling garage given riluzole treatment, continuous treatment for 3 weeks.Rats were sacrificed by dislocation, taking hippocampal tissue under light microscope. [Results]Tile modeling light microscope rat hippocampus astrocytes significant change in the number and morphology, and the normal control group, the difference was statistically significant （P 〈0.05）; 3 weeks after treatment, the drug rats number of hippocampal astrocytes increased significantly, normal hippocampus pyramidal cells and astrocytes karyopyknosis partial recovery, compared with the control group, the difference was statistically significant; CAI region of rats EA, DG district star shaped glial cell number increased, compared with the control group, the difference was statistically significant, compared with the drug showed no significant difference （P〉 0.05）; electToacupuncture group number CA3 region astrocytes no significant increase, with the drug group, the difference was statistically significant （P = 0.032）, in the control group and the normal control group, the difference was not statistically significant （P〉 0.05）. [Conclusion]EA can fix the depression caused by chronic stress hippocampal astrocytes injury, and similar efficacy with riluzole, which may be an important way for the antidepressant of EA.

Research on Compound business model of Private bookstores Based on investigation and analysis of Readers＇ Consumption Experience in Shanghai

In recent years, there is more and more information that the private stores have went bankrupt. Compound business model of cultural product is the way out of private bookstores. Based on the previous study on consumer motivation theory, the paper uses the statistical method of factor analysis to establish reader＇s demand motivation model of compound business model. And from the perspective of supply, the paper extracts four important dimension features of compound private bookstores. The comparison between the demand and the supply indicates that compound private bookstores have disadvantages, and the paper proposes constructive suggestions for the future development of the business model.

New Technology of Installing the Attached Self-Climbing Tower Steel Gantry Cranes

The Liujiaxia Bridge is 536 m span steel truss stiffening Girder Bridge, tower with double-column steel concrete slructure, which is the world＇s largest diameter, the largest steel plate thickness of concrete pylon. Sarasota manufactured using standard pipe segment, group fight scene segment piecewise hoisting tower segment perfusion within the micro-expansion concrete construction technology, tower maximum height of 61.5 meters. This paper describes a piecewise Sarasota steel installation, piecewise perfusion within the micro-expansion concrete tower new construction method - attached to a self-climbing tower bridge ganlry crane mounted pylon construction technology of large steel components. Of the ＂entity attached to the pylon installation of equipment by section climb＂ design, composition and construction applications are described in detail.
