Studies in the coastal area of Bohai Bay,China,from July 2006 to October 2007,suggest that the method of meiofaunal biomass estimation affected the meiofaunal analysis.Conventional estimation methods that use a unique...Studies in the coastal area of Bohai Bay,China,from July 2006 to October 2007,suggest that the method of meiofaunal biomass estimation affected the meiofaunal analysis.Conventional estimation methods that use a unique mean individual weight value for nematodes to calculate total biomass may cause deviation of the results.A modified estimation method,named the Subsection Count Method (SCM),was also used to calculate meiofaunal biomass.This entails only a slight increase in workload but generates results of greater accuracy.Results gained using each of these two methods were compared in the present study.The results show that the conventional method generally estimates a meiofaunal biomass.The difference between the two estimation methods was highly significant (P<0.01) for the spring and winter cruises.Furthermore,the estimation method for meiofaunal biomass affected the analysis of horizontal distribution and correlation with environmental factors.These findings highlight the importance of estimation methods for meiofaunal biomass and will hopefully stimulate further investigation and discussion of the topic.展开更多

The results show that BSC usage can improve hospital performance remarkably. With the structural equation model analysis, we further find that, this function is realized in an indirect way through the perception of organizational fairness and organizational commitment. The BSC has direct effect to improve the perception of organizational fairness and organizational commitment, which further influence the performance. The results not only complement empirical evidences for BSC usage, but also provide guidance to regulators and hospitals to implement BSC in compensation contract.展开更多
A hundred and twenty-one households in Yujiang county, Jiangxi province were investigated by adopting questionnaire method, and the evaluation system of index was established according to the integrative, hierarchical...A hundred and twenty-one households in Yujiang county, Jiangxi province were investigated by adopting questionnaire method, and the evaluation system of index was established according to the integrative, hierarchical, scientific, practical, comparative and dynamic principles. The investigation data were firstly standardized and then processed with SPSS software. The index weight was confirmed by principal component analysis. Finally, the evaluation scale of ecoagriculture was calculated. The results showed that the evaluation value ranged from 0.141 to 0.689 for 121 households. Agricultural status of 113 households got the primary phase of ecoagriculture which accounting for 93.38%; 7 households into the second phase, representing 5.79% and only 1 household into the third phase according to the evaluation value. However, the ecoagriculture was divided into 5 stages, according to the evaluation value. Therefore, the ecoagriculture has huge potential to develop in red soil area, China.展开更多

However, M-banking still faces resistance that may hamper cus...Banks have moved towards technology-based customer services such as mobile banking （m-banking）; as an alternative to traditional inter-personal services. However, M-banking still faces resistance that may hamper customers＇ adoption in Egypt. Following a mixed method approach, this study involves two main phases. First, a quantitative Consumer survey is conducted in the form of 350 structured questionnaires to identify the main barriers towards m-banking. Then, decision makers in 5 different public and private banks are interviewed in order to find similarities and difference, and identify service providers＇ roles regarding these barricrs. Questionnaire data was statistically analysed using independent T-Test, Chi-squares, frequencies and cross tabulations, while interview data was interpretively analysed. Results enabled the researchers to identify the risk, usage, and tradition as the most m-banking barriers that discourage m-banking adoption in Egypt as seen by the two main players.展开更多

This paper discusses one of the modern methods of time series analysis--a method of deterministic chaos theory. It involves the transition from study of the characteristics of the signal to the investigation of metric （and probabilistic） properties of the reconstructed attractor of the signal. It is shown that one of the most precise characteristics of the functional state of biological systems is the dynamical trend of correlation dimension and entropy of the reconstructed attractor. On the basis of this it is suggested that a complex programming apparatus be created for calculating these characteristics on line. A similar programming product is being created now with the support of RFBR. The first results of the working program, its adjustment, and further development, are also considered in the article.展开更多
