Switch states of MC are obtained when the output voltage error function is minimized, thus the optimum combination of switch states is derived for the closed-loop control of MC. Meanwhile, advantages of the least calculation workload, the simple process, and the convenient for implementation are brought while switch states are described as space vectors in the α-β coordination system. Simulation and experimental results demonstrate the validity of the time-discrete modulation technique and the feasibility of the control approach.展开更多

[Methods] The 12-day-old J. curcas seedlings were held in a climate chamber at 25/20 ℃(day/night),16 hours illumination, and 75% of relative humidity for air-drought treatment, and the changes of water potential, osmotic potential and the content of soluble sugar, proline, betaine were measured. [Results] Water potential and osmotic potential in leaves of J. curcas seedlings dropped significantly, pressure potential lost during air-drought stress, and the contents of osmoregulants soluble sugar, proline and betaine rose significantly to different extent in the leaves and stems. [Conclusion] Osmoregulants in the leaves and stems respond differently to air-drought stress, and in general leaves are much more responsive to the drought than stems of J. curcas seedlings.展开更多

Data were compared with 15 non-diabetic critically ill patients (48 ± 5 years) and 10 healthy volunteers (28 ±3 years). RESULTS: Baseline proximal gastric volumes were similar between the three groups. In diabetic patients, proximal gastric relaxation during I kcal/min nutrient infusion was similar to non-diabetic patients and healthy controls. In contrast, relaxation during 2 kcal/ min infusion was initially reduced in diabetic patients (P 〈 0.05) but increased to a level similar to healthy humans, unlike non-diabetic patients where relaxation was impaired throughout the infusion. Duodenal nutrient stimulation reduced the fundic wave frequency in a dose-dependent fashion in both the critically ill diabetic patients and healthy subjects, but not in critically ill patients without diabetes. Fundic wave frequency in diabetic patients and healthy subjects was greater than in non-diabetic patients.CONCLUSION: In patients with diabetes mellitus, proximal gastric motility is less disturbed than nondiabetic patients during critical illness, suggesting that these patients may not be at greater risk of delayed gastric emptying.展开更多

The one-particle unknown state is transmitted from the sender to the recipient under the control of the supervisor. After the sender makes Bell-state measurement and the supervisor performs von Neumann measurement, the recipient carries out unitary transformation on his own particle depending on classical information from the sender and the supervisor. The teleportation cannot be completed successfully by the recipient if the supervisor does not agree to cooperate. The roles of the recipient and the supervisor may be exchanged in this scheme. The scheme is flexible and feasible because the sequence of manipulation of the sender and the supervisor may be exchanged and only simple unitary transformation is included.展开更多

[Method] The effects of seven foliar fertilizer and growth regulators on the major economic traits of Jinhua Large and White Peach were studied. [Result] After timely spraying of S-ABA and Fushizhuang in young fruit stage, the major economic traits of Large and White Peach including fruit weight and soluble solids content were significantly higher than that of the control, and significantly better than other treatments. The excavator is being developed to dig trenches autonomously. One stumbling block is the achievement of adequate, accurate, quick and smooth movement under automatic control. Here, both classical and modern approaches are considered, including proportional-integral-derivative (PID) control tuned by conventional Zigler-Nichols rules, linear proportional-integral-plus (PIP) control, and a novel nonlinear PIP controller based on a state-dependent parameter (SDP) model structure,in which the parameters are functionally dependent on other variables in the system. Implementation results for the excavator joint arms control demonstrate that SDP-PIP controller provides the improved performance with fast, smooth and accurate response in comparison with both PID and linearized PIP control.展开更多

METHODS: Hsp70-peptide complexes were purified from human HCC cells with column chromatography using ADP-agarose and DEAE-Sepharose. DCs were derived from peripheral blood mononuclear cells of healthy donors in the presence of human GM-CSF and IL-4. The anti-tumor effect of DCs pulsed with hsp70-peptide complexes on human T-cell was assayed by CTL and enzyme-linked immunospot (ELISPOT) tests. RESULTS: Hsp70-peptide complexes derived from human HCC cells activated phenotypic and functional maturation of DCs. The matured DCs stimulated a high level of autologous T-cell proliferation and type Ⅰ cytokine secretion, and induced HCC-specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs), which specifically killed HCC cells by a MHC class Ⅰ restricted mechanism. CONCLUSION: Hsp70-peptide complexes derived from human HCC cells can serve as a potent tumor antigen source for pulsing DCs, the pulsed DCs are very effective in activating specific T-cell responses against HCC cells. 2005 The WJG Press and Elsevier Inc. From the third generation, there have been 16 patients. The age of onset was about 3 to 5 decades. The initial symptoms were autonomic nerve symptoms, such as impotence, dyspepsia and diarrhoea, associated with the sensory loss of lower extremities. As the disease progressed, the upper extremities and motor ability were also involved. The duration of disease course was about 8-10 years, most patients died of infection and cachexia. Sural biopsy in 3 patients had showed positive Congo red staining. From the clinical view, this FAP family is similar to FAP I found in Japan. The true classification, however, should be confirmed by further genetic analysis.展开更多

METHODS: Using MY09/MY11 consensus primers, we compared the prevalence of a HPV L1 gene in tumor tissues from 38 ESCC cases and biopsied tissues from 38 endoscopically normal Iranian individuals. We also compared the presence of HPV16 and HPVA18 in the same samples using type-specific E6/E7 primers. RESULTS: Fourteen (36.8%) of the 38 ESCC samples but only 5 (13.2%) of the 38 control samples were positive for the HPV L1 gene (P= 0.02). Five (13.2%) of the ESCC samples but none of the control samples were positive for the HPV16 E6/E7 gene (P= 0.05). Three (7.9%) of the ESCC samples and 5 (13.2%) of the control samples were positive for the HPV18 E6/E7 gene (P= 0.71). CONCLUSION: Our data are consistent with HPV DNA studies conducted in other high-risk areas for ESCC. HPV should be considered as a potential factor contributing to the high incidence of ESCC in Iran and other high-incidence areas of the world.展开更多

When the dimension of TR circuits is high (e.g. n≥3) the motions of the corresponding ODEs may, very probably, show self-sustained oscillations and chaos. On the other hand, chaoticity may be harmful for the normal biological functions of TR processes. In this letter we numerically study the dynamics of 3-gene TR ODEs in great detail, and investigate many 4-, 5-, and lO-gene TR systems by randomly choosing figures and parameters in the conventionally accepted ranges. And we find that oscillations are very seldom and no chaotic motion is observed, even if the dimension of systems is sufficiently high (n≥3). It is argued that the observation of nonchaoticity of these ODEs agrees with normal functions of actual TR processes.展开更多
