Unlike the existing resonance region radar systems (RRRS ) that transmit the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM)multi-carrier waveform,the dense multi-carrier (DMC)radar waveform which has a narrower frequency interval than the traditional OFDM waveform is proposed.Therefore,in the same frequency bandwidth,the DMC waveform contains more sub-carriers and provides more frequency diversity.Additionally,to further improve detection performance,a novel optimal weight accumulation target detection (OWATD)method is proposed,where the echo electromagnetic waves at different frequencies are accumulated with the optimal weight coefficients.Then,with the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR)of echo waveform approaching infinity,the asymptotic detection performance is analyzed, and the condition that the OWATD method with the DMC outperforms the matched filter with the OFDM is presented.Simulation results show that the DMC outperforms the OFDM in the target detection performance,and the OWATD method can further improve the detection performance of the traditional methods with both the OFDM and DMC radar waveform. 展开更多

Solid-state wave gyroscope is one kind of high-performance vibrating gyroscopes. The present work develops a new type of solid-state wave gyroscope—a ring vibrating gyroscope driven by piezo-electrodes located on the sidewall of the structure. It has advantages of large vibrating amplitude, high energy conversion efficiency and compact structure. The working principle of the piezoelectric ring vibrating gyroscope is based on the inertia effect of the standing wave in the axisymmetric resonator caused by Coriolis force. The finite element method(FEM) analysis has been implemented to characterize the ring type resonator. The prototypal gyroscope was manufactured and has been trimmed by mechanical way. The harmonic response of the ring vibrating gyroscope has been tested. The resonating frequency of the ring type resonator is 3715.6 Hz and the frequency split of the two working modes before trimming was about 5 Hz and was reduced to sub-0.01 Hz after trimming procedure. The Q-factor of the ring type resonator was 2504. Then, the turntable experiment was implemented. The measured scale factor k is 9.24 m V/[(°)·s] and the full scale range of the gyroscope is larger than ±300(°)/s. 展开更多

The coupling efficiency of the TE021 mode and the suppression for the TE811 mode in the main cylindrical cavity are deliberately considered by adjusting the position and size of coupling holes as well as the radius of the drift tubes. The numerical results show that the TE21 mode can successfully be excited, and rational coupling efficiency and high mode purity for the TE021 mode in the cylindrical cavity can be reached for the engineering application of gyroklystron amplifier study. 展开更多

We will show that by compensating the total loss in the RR the switching power can be decreased greatly and by loss, compensating the bistability effect in RR can be cancelled and the switching performance can be improved. To characterize the fused-silica spherical resonator,an evanescent fiber taper coupling technique is employed. The coupling system consists of a fiber taper with a diameter of about 2.8 microns and a fused-silica spherical resonator with a diameter of about 143 microns. By injecting the laser power into the fiber taper,a number of narrow absorption peaks with equal peak spacing of 3.7 nm are observed in a wide spectral range. After replacing the resonator by the other one with the shape being slightly modified,whispering-gallery mode splitting in the spherical resonator is observed. The wavelength spacing between adja-cent peaks is 0.32 nm,much smaller than that of the previous one. 展开更多

Diurnal variation of tropical cyclone (TC rainfall in the western North Pacific (WNP) is investi gated using the high-resolution Climate Prediction Ce~ ter's morphing technique (CMORPH) products obtaine from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administra tion (NOAA). From January 2008 to October 2010, 7 TCs and 389 TC rainfall days were reported by the Joir Typhoon Warning Center's (JTWC) best-track record. Th TC rain rate was partitioned using the Objective Synopti Analysis Technique (OSAT) and interpolated into Local Standard Time (LST). Harmonic analysis was applied t analyze the diurnal variation of the precipitation. Obviou diurnal cycles were seen in approximately 70% of the TC rainfall days. The harmonic amplitude and phase of the mean TC rainfall rate vary with TC intensity, life stage, season, and spatial distribution. On the basis of intensity, tropical de- pressions (TDs) exhibit the highest precipitation variation amplitude (PVA), at approximately 30%, while super ty- phoons (STs) contain the lowest PVA, at less than 22%. On the basis of lifetime stage, the PVA in the decaying stage (more than 37%) is stronger than that in the devel oping (less than 20%) and sustaining (28%) stages. On the basis of location, the PVA of more than 35% (less than 18%) is the highest (lowest) over the high-latitude oceanic areas (the eastern ocean of the Philippine Islands). In ad dition, a sub-diurnal cycle of TC rainfall occurs over the high-latitude oceans. On the basis of season, the diurnal variation is more pronounced during summer and winter, at approximately 30% and 32%, respectively, and is weaker in spring and autumn, at approximately 22% and 24%, respectively. 展开更多

Yet this relations... The relationship between architecture and faith has always been of great wealth. Faith as a way of life and social memory exercises a decisive influence on the shape of the construction environment. Yet this relationship is rarely analyzed. On a general level, one reason for this deficiency is probably due to the spread of the ideology of modernity. Given that modernity is implicitly secular, it does not prompt to understand faith in its relationship with other phenomena. It is the same for architecture. We believe on the contrary that the construction environment and the cultural aspect must interact and complement each other. When this is not true or only partially true, this results in user dissatisfaction, and refusal to engage and participate in the process of changing that environment. Many authors have tried to show explicitly the influence of Islamic thought on the social organization and the housing as well as the link between housing and identity, but its implications have not always been understood and transmitted concretely. One thing is certain: the ideological -symbolic-metaphoric sphere is the essence of architecture, as are the program requirements: functionality, distributivity, health of the environment and technology of construction. In this contribution we will address the thorny issue of cultural and religious influences on the choice of the morphology of the habitat and its components, and we will try to highlight the interaction between architecture, faith and culture through analysis of a Mediterranean type "House with Patio" as a particular architectural style, which has been enriched through the centuries by different cultures. Although the course of this typology in each of these cultures and at different times has not been the same, this has only strengthened the mission and spirit of the "Patio" until the appropriation of this model by the Arab-Muslim peoples who were able to incorporate the Islamic perception in this space. 展开更多

In view of the above problems, a shunt three-phase active power filter (SAPF) based on discrete sliding mode control to suppress the harmonics was designed and the power factor improved. First, built the mathematical model of SAPF. Then, controlled the switch through analyzing the harmonic current that was controlled signal using discrete sliding mode control. Through simulation using MATLAB, verified the validity of the algorithm. By the simulation waveforms, it can be found that after the load current containing a large number of harmonics passes the active power filter, the waveform of the power current approximately becomes a sine wave and the harmonics is significantly reduced. As a result, it plays a good role in purifying power systems. Moreover, from the waveforms of harmonic current and power current, it can be found that the algorithm has a faster tracking speed. The only obstacle on using these devices is the production of high frequency harmonics that violates different standards such as (FCC, VDE, 461 ). In this paper the sources of various noises in switching power supplies will be introduced. Then, using appropriate model for high frequency transformers, a sample switching power supply will be simulated. In this simulation, the effect of leakage inductance on current and voltage waveforms of the input and output switches, which are the main cause of common mode differential mode noises and radiations, will be discussed and harmonically analyzed. The sensor is designed based on Morphology Dependent Resonances (MDR) which follows Maxwell's electromagnetic equations. In this paper, we have presented a novel technique to integrate chemical science and optical technology by using OCRR. Optical resonances of electromagnetic wave propagations in dielectric micro-ring resonator have been developed based on asymptotic approach. Parametric studies based on developed asymptotic expression have been presented to determine the resonance frequency at particular chemical composition. Finite element simulation is used to predict the performance of the sensor and found encouraging results for odorant sensing. Parametric studies show that present study will help to develop novel OCRR sensors tbr micro/nano technology and biomedical applications. 展开更多

French philosopher Gabriel Tarde is known as a philosopher who describes sociology ontologically with an integrated approach and mostly by means of metaphysical interpretations. Opposing his coeval Durkheim's “social fact”, Tarde claims that this notion constitutes a methodological problem and the term “social” of Durkheim's crowds out “variability of relations”. According to him, determinants in social relations are more general and dynamic notions, such as: “change”, “contrast”, and “adaptation”. In this respect, not quite celebrated in his era, this philosopher is widely known as a metaphysician as well as a sociologist. His metaphysical ideas are clearly visible in various sections of his works, where he described with inspirations from natural phenomenon. Descriptions and analysis on natural phenomena constitute the greater part of his works. He points out similarities between the universe and the world of men in terms of functioning. Presenting these similarities, Tarde seems to reject any division between the men and the nature built up by “positive philosophy” and modern understanding. With his natural descriptions and concepts he inferred from these descriptions, such as“contradiction” and “harmony”, he almost tries to re-establish the bonds between the nature and the social life. Tarde's perception of holistic being and his ideas of “contradiction” and “harmony” in nature, are very close to the most basic axioms of the traditional Chinese thought. As a matter of fact, Tarde denotes these similarities in his novella called “Fragment d'histoire future (Underground Man)”.
