A new hybrid piezoelectric ultrasonic motor, which consists of one rotor and two stators, was proposed in this paper. In order to match the resonance frequencies of longitudinal vibration and torsional vibration excited in the stators, a symmetrical structure was adopted in design of the motor. A so-called mass matching method, namely adding two rings to the outside circumference of the two stators respectively, was used to adjust the resonance frequencies of these two vibrations. A finite element model was developed using ANSYS software for the purpose of analyzing the resonance frequencies of longitudinal vibration and torsional vibration as well as the function of the adjusting rings. The results show that the resonance frequency of torsional vibration varies with the position of the ring, but the resonance frequency of longitudinal vibration changes little. By means of adjusting the mass and the position of the rings, the first order resonance frequency of longitudinal vibration is coincided with that of torsional vibration and the value is 20.75kHz. An experimental prototype motor was fabricated according to the analytical results and its performance is in agreement with the theoretical predictions. The speed of motor reaches the maximum 92r/min at the working frequency 19.0kHz. 展开更多

Dynamic investigations revealed that lower order harmonic resonance phenomenon exists in the three ring gear transmission. That is, when the input speed is close to 1/3, 1/6, 1/9,…, 1/3 n of the primary natural frequency of the transmission, the loads on the bearings and gears are especially high. This paper explained this phenomenon from the viewpoint of parametric resonance in terms of perturbation technique. A conclusion was drawn that the basic reason for this phenomenon is the primary resonance caused by forcing excitation and parametric resonance caused by parametric change. 展开更多

On 24 August 2005, an impulse of solar wind dynamic pressure(Psw) hit the magnetosphere. Using the high resolution geomagnetic field data from 15 ground stations and the data from Geotail and TC-1, we studied the geomagnetic pulsations at auroral latitudes driven by the sharp decrease of Psw at the trailing edge of the impulse. The results show that the sharp decrease of Psw can excite a global pulsation in the frequency range 4.3–11.6 m Hz. The pulsation has a reversal of polarization between two auroral latitude stations, a larger power spectral density(PSD) close to resonant latitude and increasing frequency with decreasing latitude. All these features indicate that the pulsations are associated with field line resonance(FLR). The fundamental resonant frequency(the peak frequency of PSD between 4.3 and 5.8 m Hz) is dependent on magnetic local time and is largest around magnetic local noon. This feature is due to the fact that the size of magnetospheric cavity is dependent on local time and smallest at noon. A second harmonic wave at about 10 m Hz is also observed, which is strongest in the daytime sector, and becomes heavily attenuated in the night sector. The comparison of the PSDs of the pulsations driven by sharp increase and sharp decrease of Psw shows that the frequency of pulsations is negatively proportional to the size of magnetopause. Since the FLR is excited by compressional cavity/waveguide waves, the above results indicate that the resonant frequency in the magnetospheric cavity/waveguide is controlled not only by solar wind parameters but also by magnetic local time of observation point. 展开更多

In this paper,we report the frequency comb response experimentally and analytically in a rhombic micro-resonator with parametrical modulation. When the electrostatically actuated rhombic micro-resonator is modulated axially by a low-frequency periodic excitation,a comb-like vibration response with few equidistant positioned fingers in the frequency domain is observed. The finger spacing of frequency comb response is exactly consistent with modulation frequency and the number and amplitude of the fingers can be tuned by modulation strength.A mixed frequency comb with extra comb fingers is further generated when the resonator is modulated simultaneously by two different low-frequency excitation signals.By adjusting the relation of the two modulation frequencies, unequal spacing frequency combs are achieved for the first time, which leads to a more flexible tunability of the comb spacing for different applications.Theoretical analysis based on the dynamic model well explains the corresponding observations. 展开更多
