The decrease of indoor air temperature after the stopping of floor heating was compared with that of fan-coil heating system. The increase of indoor air temperature after the stopping of floor cooling system was analyzed. The results show that the floor heating system has good thermal storage performance, which can be used to a night-running model to obtain the energy-saving benefits efficient and economic running cost, and still can be used for “shifting peak load to off-peak” macroscopically.展开更多
Achieving simultaneous reduction of NOx,CO and unburned hydrocarbon(UHC) emissions without compromising engine performance at part loads is the current focus of dual fuel engine research.The present work focuses on an...Achieving simultaneous reduction of NOx,CO and unburned hydrocarbon(UHC) emissions without compromising engine performance at part loads is the current focus of dual fuel engine research.The present work focuses on an experimental investigation conducted on a dual fuel(diesel-natural gas) engine to examine the simultaneous effect of inlet air pre-heating and exhaust gas recirculation(EGR) ratio on performance and emission characteristics at part loads.The use of EGR at high levels seems to be unable to improve the engine performance at part loads.However,it is shown that EGR combined with pre-heating of inlet air can slightly increase thermal efficiency,resulting in reduced levels of both unburned hydrocarbon and NOx emissions.CO and UHC emissions are reduced by 24% and 31%,respectively,The NOx emissions decrease by 21% because of the lower combustion temperature due to the much inert gas brought by EGR and decreased oxygen concentration in the cylinder.展开更多

Reasonably determining the adopted regional power grid capacity load ratio quantitative numerical value in planning has a strong guiding significance for constructing reliable and economic power grid and preventing power grid from excessive advance or lagging behind the load development. The static pressure distributions on the endwall and the blade surface were also carried out. The correlation matr...The aim of the present study is to assess the water quality along the Rosetta branch of the Nile River, Egypt. The study area extends from upstream of the EI-Rahawy drain to the end of the branch. The correlation matrix was performed to help identify the nature of correlations between the different parameters. The WQI (water quality index) was calculated seasonally at different points along the Rosetta branch to provide a simple indicator of water quality at these points. The results of WQI calculations showed that the fecal coliform is the main cause of poor water quality along the Rosetta branch. A statistical analysis was also performed using a two-way ANOVA (analysis of variance) to identify the significant sources of water pollution and to determine the impact of the parameters on a mass loading. A significant difference was observed between the impacts of the pollution sources on the water quality. Also, a significant difference was observed between the impacts of each parameter in the mass loading. The results showed that the E1-Rahawy, Tala and Sabal drains are the major sources for water quality degradation along the Rosetta branch and that the effect of the EI-Tahrir and the Zawyet El-Baher drains on the water quality is not significant.展开更多

Knowledge of the course of traction substation...In the case of electric or tram traction vehicles, the energy for propulsion purposes, as well as all other purposes, is processed and delivered via traction substations. Knowledge of the course of traction substation loading, especially at the stage of its design, is an extremely important issue because of the choice of the processing equipment of the main circuit or protection devices. In the range of investigations of railway traction substation B in vicinity of Cracow (Poland), the measurements of current load in hours 4:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. were realized. The measurements for the analysis were chosen from those realized between 6:00 a.m.-8:00 a.m. (the morning rush time). Due to the sampling of 2 h summit with a frequency of 2 kHz, the recorded data set contains 1.44 ~ 107 elements. Therefore, the necessary transformation of data was to lower frequency 1 Hz, 10 Hz and 50 Hz. The results of the analysis presented below indicate the effect of such conduct on the obtained results for the parameters of time series models. In view of the unsatisfactory effects of the polynomial approximation, there is a need to seek a more efficient approximation method for achieving the optimum compatibility with the measured process. Continued research should lead to the formulation of procedures, which will determine an acceptable accuracy of the expected variability of traction substation loads.展开更多

Classification of estuaries according to their sus- ceptibility to eutrophication nutrient load is a useful method to determine priority management objects and to enforce control measures. Using historical monitoring data from 2007 to 2012, from 65 estuaries, including 101 estuarine monitoring sections and 260 coastal monitoring stations, a nutrient-driven phytoplankton dynamic model was developed based on the relationship among phytoplankton biomass, Total Nitrogen (TN) load and physical features of estuaries. The ecological filter effect of es- tuaries was quantified by introducing conversion efficiency parameter values into the model. Markov Chain Monte Carlo algo- rithm of Bayesian inference was then employed to estimate parameters in the mode/. The developed model fitted well to the observed chlorophyll, primary production, grazing, and sinking rates. The analysis suggests that an estuary with Q/V (the ratio of river flow to estuarine volume) greater than 2.0 per year and e (conversion efficiency ratio) less than 1.0 g C/g N can be classified as less susceptible to TN load, Q/V between 0.7 to 2.0 per year and e between 1.0 to 3.0 g C/g N as moderately sus- ceptible, and e greater than 3.0 g C/g N as very susceptible. The estuaries with Q/V less than 0.7 per year vary greatly in their susceptibility. The estuaries with high and moderate susceptibility accounted for 67% of all the analyzed estuaries. They have relatively high eutrophication risks and should be the focus of environmental supervision and pollution prevention.展开更多
