It is shown that different tectonic stress has different coal evolution effects. Compared with tensional stress, compressive stress, which has apparent anisotropic characteristics, has greater stimulative effect against the increase of coal metamorphic degree, the abscission of functional group and side chains of basic structural unit, and the formation of gas primarily composed of methane.展开更多

Methods: Conformation sensitive gel electrophoresis (CSGE) and direct DNA sequencing were applied to detect point mutations that occurred in the five coding exons and splice sites of RHO gene in 98 index patients with RP. Results: Four patients of one ADRP family were found to have a missense mutation at codon 347, Pro347Leu. One late-onset RP patient and her daughter, without clinical expression at present, were discovered to have a novel frameshift mutation at codon 327, Pro327 (1-bp del) . Neither of the two mutations was found in 100 normal controls. Ala299Ser was found in one RP patient. Two control subjects also had Ala299Ser, suggesting its nonpathogenicity and just single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP). Conclusion: Two RP patients had rhodopsin mutations, thus the expected frequency of RHO mutations in RP is about 2.0% (95% confidence interval: 0.3%-4.4%). A highly conserved C-terminal sequence QVS(A) PA was altered due to Pro347Leu and thereby misdirecting rhodopsin to incorrect subcellular location. Loss of all phosphory-lation sites at the C-terminus and a highly conserved sequence QVS(A)PA may occur because of Pro327(1-bp del) . To elucidate the predominant biochemical defects in such mutant, transgenic mice and transfected culture cells carrying Pro327(1-bp del) would be of great value.展开更多

METHODSTumor specimens were obtained from 136 patients with pancreatic cancer who had undergone resection without preoperative therapy between January 2000 and December 2013 at the Department of Surgical Oncology, Osaka City University. The resected specimens were analyzed for associations with clinicopathological data, including DCLK1 expression, epithelial mesenchymal transition (EMT) marker expression, and cancer stem cell (CSC) marker expression. Univariate and multivariate survival analyses were performed and we assessed the association between DCLK1 expression and clinicopathological factors, including the EMT marker and CSC marker. RESULTSIn total, 48.5% (66/136) of the pancreatic cancer samples were positive for DCLK1. Patients with DCLK1-positive tumors had significantly shorter survival times than those with DCLK1-negative tumors (median, 18.7 mo vs 49.5 mo, respectively; P < 0.0001). Positive DCLK1 expression correlated with histological grade (P = 0.0290), preoperative CA19-9 level (P = 0.0060), epithelial cell adhesion molecule (EpCAM) expression (P = 0.0235), and the triple-positive expression of CD44/CD24/EpCAM (P = 0.0139). On univariate survival analysis, five factors were significantly associated with worse overall survival: histological grade of G2 to G4 (P = 0.0091), high preoperative serum SPan-1 level (P = 0.0034), R1/2 (P < 0.0001), positive expression of DCLK1 (P < 0.0001) or CD44 (P = 0.0245). On multivariate survival analysis, R1/2 [odds ratio (OR) = 2.019, 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.380-2.933; P = 0.0004] and positive DCLK1 expression (OR = 1.848, 95%CI: 1.2854-2.661; P = 0.0009) were independent prognostic factors. CONCLUSIONDCLK1 expression was found to be an independent prognostic factor and it may play a crucial prognostic role by promoting acquisition of stemness.展开更多

The statistical comparison (medians, "t" Student test, regressions and correlations) for the precipitation, evaporation, observed temperature, minimum and maximum for the periods 1969-1988 (pre-impact) and 1988-2007 (post-impact) was realized. The "t" Student test for water quality during the period of 1981-2011, as well as, the regression analysis and multiple linear correlation of water quality from 2006 to 2011 were applied in joint way of the Cluster and Principal Component to observe the effects of climate change on water quality and vulnerability of Lake Patzcuaro. The comparative analysis of the meteorological data for 1921-1960 and 1973-2007 by the KOppen classification showed a climate change. The comparative Box Plots diagrams for 1973-1989 and 1989-2007, as well as, the "t" Student test, linear regression and correlation indicated significant changes in time for precipitation, evaporation, observed temperature, minimum and maximum (P ≤ 0.05). The correlation and regression analysis indicated significant positive trends for turbidity, conductivity, total phosphorus, aluminum, oils and grease, in contrast with Secchi disk depth, transparency, Redox potential and dissolved oxygen concentration. The "t" Student test showed significant differences between 1981 and 2011 for transparency, hardness, alkalinity, conductivity, nitrite, and phosphate. Cluster and Principal Components of the physicochemical and biological of 2006-2011 confirmed the vulnerability of the system by human growth and climate change influence.展开更多

These resonators are fabricated from a PPLN film with a 16 μm poling period on insulator using conventional microfabrication techniques. The quality factor of the PPLN microdisk resonators with a 40-μm radius and a 700-nm thickness is 6.7×10~5. Second harmonic generation(SHG) with an efficiency of 2.2×10^(-6) mW(-1) is demonstrated in the fabricated PPLN microdisks. The nonlinear conversion efficiency could be considerably enhanced by optimizing the period and pattern of the poled structure and by improving the cavity quality factors.展开更多
