METHODS: Clinical data and computed tomography (CT) images were retrospectively reviewed in 17 GIST patients who were treated with imatinib mesylate from October 2002 to October 2006. Apart from using size measurement for evaluation of tumor response [Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (RECIST) criteria], patterns of CT changes during treatment were evaluated and correlated with clinical data. RESULTS: There were eight non-responders and nine responders. Five patterns of CT change during treatment were found: focal progression (FP), generalized progression (GP), generalized cystic change (GC), new cystic lesion (NC) and new solid lesion (NS). At the end of study, all non-responders showed GP, whereas responders showed cystic change (GC and NC) and response according to RECIST criteria. Overall survival was significantly better in patients with cystic change or response within the RECIST criteria compared with GP patients (P = 0.0271). CONCLUSION: Various patterns of CT change in patients with GIST who responded to imatinib mesylate were demonstrated, and might determine the prognosis of the disease. A combination of RECIST criteria and pattern of CT change are proposed for response evaluation in GIST.展开更多

In this paper, we propose an approach to datum correction that combines a joint tomography inversion with wavefield continuation to solve the static problem for seismic data on rugged acquisition topography. First, the near surface model is obtained by refracted wave tomography inversion. Second, the wavefield of sources and receivers are continued downward and upward to accomplish datum correction starting from a flat surface and locating the datum above topography. Based on the reciprocal theorem, Huygens' and Fresnel principles, the location of sources and receivers, and regarding the recorded data on the surface as a secondary emission, the sources and receivers are upward-continued to the datum above topography respectively. Thus, the datum correction using joint tomography inversion and wavefield continuation with the condition of a complex near surface is accomplished.展开更多

To study the whole body bone mineral changes in normal subjects.Methods. Bone mineral was measured by dual X-ray absorptiometry(DXA) in 292 normal subjectsaged 10~79 years, including 152 females and 140 males. They were divided into age-groups by decade.Results. In males, the ages with peak value of total bone mineral content (TBMC), total bone min-eral density (TBMD), anteroposterior spine BMD(L2-4 BMD) were in the 30~39,20~39, 20~29 age-groups respectively. In females, they were all in the 30~39 age-group. Peak values of TBMC, TBMD,L2-4 BMD were higher in males than those in females. Loss of bone mineral for females was more pro-nounced than that for males. Loss of L2-4 BMD was more pronounced than TBMD.Conclusion. This study provides the normal bone mineral data of whole body for males and females, and the characteristic of changes.展开更多

The GPR layer disturbing image was summarized by using a rational method in fieldwork and the in-door interpretation of data. The mark radar images of disturbance of slight, middle, and strong were obtained. The result shows that the radar method can not only determine the position of the concrete pipeline underground, but it can detect the laying quality of pipeline as well.展开更多

This subclass can be divided into two further subclasses of flat spectrum radio quasars(FSRQs) and BL Lacertae objects(BL Lacs) according to their emission line features. To compare the spectral properties of FSRQs and BL Lacs, the 1.4 GHz radio, optical R-band, 1 keV X-ray, and 1 GeVy-ray flux densities for 1108 Fermi blazars are calculated to discuss the properties of the six effective spectral indices of radio to optical(α_(RO)), radio to X-ray(α_(RX)), radio to y ray(α_(Ry)), optical to X-ray(α_(OX)), optical to y ray(α_(Oy)), and X-ray to y ray(α_(Xy)).The main results are as follows: For the averaged effective spectral indices, α_(OX_> α_(Oy)> α_(Xy)> α_(Ry)> α_(RX)> α_(RO) for samples of whole blazars and BL Lacs; α_(Xy)≈α_(Ry)≈α_(RX) for FSRQs and low-frequency-peaked BL Lacs(LBLs); and α_(OX)≈α_(Oy)≈α_(Xy) for high-synchrotron-frequency-peaked BL Lacs(HBLs). The distributions of the effective spectral indices involving optical emission(α_(RO), α_(OX), and α_(Oy)) for LBLs are different from those for FSRQs, but if the effective spectral index does not involve optical emission(α_(RX), α_(Ry), and α_(Xy)), the distributions for LBLs and FSRQs almost come from the same parent population. X-ray emissions from blazars include both synchrotron and inverse Compton (IC) components; the IC component for FSRQs and LBLs accounts for a larger proportion than that for HBLs; and the radiation mechanism for LBLs is similar to that for FSRQs, but the radiation mechanism for HBLs is different from that for both FSRQs and LBLs in X-ray bands. The tendency of α_(Ry) decreasing from LBLs to HBLs suggests that the synchrotron self-Compton model explains the main process for highly energetic y rays in BL Lacs.展开更多

We consider a dark S U(2)′× U(1)′ gauge symmetry under which the dark matter is a Dirac fermion doublet composed of two S U(2)′ doublets with non-trivial U(1 )′ charges. At the one-loop level the two dark fermion components can have a mass split as a result of the dark gauge symmetry breaking. Through the exchange of a mediator scalar doublet the two quasi-degenerate dark fermdons can mostly annihilate into the electron-positron pairs at the tree level for explaining the 1.4 TeV positron anomaly, meanwhile, the heavy dark fermion can very slowly decay into the light dark fermion with a photon at the one-loop level for explaining the 3.5 keV X-ray line. Our dark fermions can be also verified in the direct detection experiments.展开更多
