Analysis of Correlation between Yield and Quality Traits of Quality Hybrid Rapeseed 被引量:3

[Objective] This study aimed to investigate the correlation between yield and quality traits of rape. [Method] Taking "Sanbei 98" and "Youyan 599" as ex- periment materials, correlation between yield and quality traits of Brassica napus L. cultivars was explored by orthogonal rotation method. [Result] The results showed that: 1 In both the two varieties-Sanbei98 and Youyan599, erucic acid content had the largest coefficient of variation, but its average content was lower than 2% in both the two varieties (0.90% in Sanbei98 and 1.24% in Youyan599), and the palmitic acid content had the smallest coefficient of variation. 2 In terms of the dif- ferences in quality traits at different yield levels, only the mean of eicosenoic acid content revealed significant difference in Sanbei98, and only the mean of seed-pro- tein content revealed significant difference in Youyan599, and there was no signifi- cant difference in any combined quality traits in both the two varieties. 3 The yield was negatively correlated with the erucic acid content or oil content, and posi- tively correlated with the content of seed-protein, linoleic acid, or linolenic acid, and the coefficient of correlation between the yield and either of the contents of glucosi- nolates, oleic acid, palmitic acid, stearic acid, and eicosenoic acid was smaller. ~, when the yield of a variety increased considerably, there was a certain decreasing trend in erucic acid content, oil content, the total amount of erucic chain fatty acids (El & Er), while there was an increasing trend in seed-protein content, linoleic acid content, linolenic acid content, saturated fatty acids (SFA), the total amount of fat and protein (P & F), unsaturation index (IUFA), unsaturated fatty acids (UFA), the total amount of 18 carbon fatty acids (18-C FA), unsaturated fatty acids [UFA/(Ei & Er) ], and the sum of oleic acid and linoleic acid (OI & Li). 5 When the seed-pro- tein content is increased, the quality of rape oil cake is also improved; when the unsaturated index is increased, the oil stability is decreased. The increase in the total amount of unsaturated fatty acids, oleic acid and linoleic acid helps to increase in the total amount of fatty acids absorbed by human bodies. [Conclusion] This study provides a theoretical foundation for the cultivation of high-yielding and top- quality hybrid rape cultivars. 展开更多

This study was conducted to study the optimum dosage of potassium ful- vate (PF) on greenhouse tomato, the effects of different amounts of PF on yield and quality of greenhouse tomato and soil physical and chemical properties were investigated by a field plot experiment. The results showed that the bottom applica- tion of PF increased tomato yield, plant dry matter weight and root dry matter weight by 14.0%, 14.4 and 50.6%, respectively; Vc and soluble sugar content of tomato increased by 1&5% and 10.0%, respectively; and soil bulk density de- creased by 3.6%, and CEC increased by 5.0%. All the indexes increased with the increase of PF application amount, and reached the maximum value when the PF application rate was 4 500 kg/hm2. In consideration of the cost of fertilizer and all indexes, the optimum dosaqe of PF fertilizer was 4 500 kg/hm2. 展开更多

Relation Analysis of Several Agronomic Traits and Single Plant Lint Yield in Upland Cotton with High Quality 被引量:8

[ Objective] The purpose was to study the correlation between main agronomic traits and single plant lint yield in upland cotton with high quality. [ Method] Twenty-four upland cotton lines with high quality were analyzed for single plant lint yield and 10 agronomic traits in a randomized, complete block at the agriculture experimental station of JXAU, Nanchang, China in 2007. They were divided into three types ( high, medium, low yield) based on single plant lint yield by Ward's method. A total of 11 traits of three types were compared. Correlation a- nalysis and stepwise regression analysis of 10 agronomic traits to single plant lint yield were carried out. [ Result] There existed statistically sig- nificant difference in bolls per plant, ~int percentage, lint index, fruit node numbers, growth period for three yield types. The high yield type ex- hibited the highest bolls per plant, lint percentage and lint index, the lowest fruit node numbers and the shortest growth period. Bolls per plant, boll weight and single plant lint yield were significantly and positively correlated. Fruit node numbers and single plant lint yield were significantly and negatively correlated. Bolls per plant, boll weight, and fruiting position number were the most important factors influencing single plant lint yield of upland cotton lines with high quality. [ Conclusion ] The results will have certain significance for the development of upland cotton variety with high quality. 展开更多

In different ecological environments, the single-boll weight of tested cotton vari- eties had the biggest variation coefficient among yield characters and micronaire value had the biggest variation coefficient among fiber quality characters. Path analy- sis indicated that the direct path coefficients of various characters had the flowing order, lint percentage〉 number of bolls per plant〉 single-boll weight〉 seed index among yield components and uniformity index 〉 fiber specific strength〉 micronaire value〉 elongation rate〉 upper half staple length among fiber quality characters. Principal component analysis indicated that the top three principal components contributed 8.263% of accumulated variance, basically reflecting the vast majority of informations of 10 main characters in tested cotton varieties. 展开更多

Identification of Quality Characteristics of Sun-cured Tobacco Leaves

[Objective] The aim was to explore tobacco varieties which satisfy tobacco formula and is suitable to be grown in ecotopes simultaneously. [Method] Interior and exterior qualities of tobacco were compared and identified based on agronomic and economic characters of tobacco in fields. [Result] Yunshai No.1 was better in both agronomic and economic characters. Specifically, the fragrance was dominated by empyreumatique and aroma; the highly-qualified variety is fragrant and sweet, with little irritation, which gives the tobacco smoke a light, mild flavor. As for Virgini- a934, economic characters were better, but agronomic characters were just ordinary. Similar to Yunshai No.l, dominated by empyreumatique and aroma, the variety was with distinctive resin and herbaceous fragrance. What's more, it tasted good with high quality and usability. Cunsanpi was ordinary in agronomic characters, and poor in economic characters, with coordinated quality and chemical composition. It is fra- grant and the smoke is clean. However, the quality was not so high and it tasted not so good. Tengruan No.2 was good in agronomic characters, but poor in eco- nomic characters, which gives delicate fragrance, but not clean enough. Waiweiba and Mijie Qinggeng neither taste well nor smell sweet, performing ordinary in agro- nomic and economic characters. Hence, the two varieties seem bad in quality and ranks poorly. [Conclusion] In terms of sensory quality, the varieties from high to low were Yunshai No.1, Virginia 934, Cunsanpi, Tengruan No.2, Waiweiba and Mijie Qinggeng. 展开更多

Among them,water supply quantity had 3 levels,that was,the water supply quantity per 10 days from the early tillering stage of sugarcane to the end of elongation was 199.5 m3/hm2 (A1),400.5 m3/hm2 (A2) and 600.0 m3/hm2 (A3),respectively; Phosphorus fertilizer as basic fertilizer had 4 levels:P2O5 0 kg/hm2 (B1),120 kg/hm2 (B2),240 kg/hm2 (B3) and 360 kg/hm2 (B4). [Result] Treatment A3B2 in water-fertilizer coupling was more suitable to improve economic traits of sugarcane. ObjectiveThis study aimed to analyze the correlations of the main agronomic traits, yield and quality of hybrid cotton cultivars. MethodThe growth period, main agronomic traits, yield components, yield and quality of 13 hybrid cotton cultivars were compared, and the correlations of their main agronomic traits, yield components, yield and quality were analyzed. ResultThe growth period of the 13 cultivars was about 123 d, and all of them presented strong growth potential throughout the growth period. The ginned cotton yield shared an extremely significant positive correlation with the first fruiting branch position, plant height, number of fruiting branches, number of bolls per plant, number of bolls per hectare and seed cotton yield; the first fruiting branch position and micronaire value shared a significant positive correlation. Keza No.1 and Chunzamian No.1 had the lowest micronaire value, 4.5. The specific strength of all the cotton cultivars ranged from 27 cN/tex to 30 cN/tex, presenting significant difference. In addition, there was extremely significant difference in the ginned cotton yield among all the cotton cultivars. ConclusionThe study provides theoretical reference for the cultivation of high-yield hybrid cotton. 展开更多

[Objective] The objective of this study was to explore the long-term effect of Fenlong cultivation for one time. [Method] The physical and chemical properties of soil and rice yield and quality were investigated and determined by measuring the soil at the depth of 23 cm in the paddy field with Fenlong cultivation and 16 cm of control (conventional farming) for 7 years. [Result] Compared with the control, the average yield of early rice of the Fenlong cultivation increased by 1 972.5 kg/hm2 of the first year, an increase of 23.87%, and milled rice and protein increased by 15.95% and 14.61%, while the increase rates of organic matter, available nitrogen, available phosphorus and available potassium per hectare were 74.58%, 67.01%, 104.41% and 129.62%, respectively. In the 7th year after Fenlong cultivation, the yield increased by 234 kg/hm2 from the control, an increase of 3.21%, and milled rice and protein increased by 0.5% and 0.14%, while the increase rates of organic matter, available phosphorus and available potassium per hectare were 745.8%, 62.635 and 73.37%, respectively, and the increase rates of total nitrogen, total phosphorus and total potassium were 46.03%, 50.58% and 36.65%, respectively. During the 7 years after Fenlong cultivation, the yield increased by 3.21-23.87%, and its average net income per season increased by 1 843.61 Yuan/hm2 with a gain of 18.03%. [Conclusion] At the 7th year after Fenlong cultivation, the paddy field still had the furrow remain at a depth of 22 cm, which was 46.67% thicker than the traditional one. The yield and quality of paddy rice increased for 7 consecutive vears showed that Fenlon.q cultivation was highly feasible for paddy field. 展开更多

[Objective] The aim was to investigate the effects of DPC chemical controlling technique on agronomic traits, yield and quality of machine-harvested cotton in the Yellow River Valley of China, and clarify the reasonable control period and the application amount of DPC. [Method] The new machine-harvested cotton variety Hengmian HD008 was used as the test material, and 3 different DPC treatments were set. [Result] DPC significantly reduced plant height and branch length, reduced branch angle and leaf area, so the rational control can effectively shape the ideal plant type of machine-harvested cotton. DPC had significant effects on yield and yield components, and the proper amount of DPC could increase the number of bolls during hot days, the number bolls in autumn and the total number of bolls. It increased the boll weight and seed index, but decreased lint percentage decreased, and proper amount of DPC could increase the yield. DPC significantly increased the specific breaking strength of fibers, and proper control could improve the uniformity of fibers, but other indexes had no significant influence. [Conclusion] According to the requirements of machine harvest to the agronomic traits of cotton and the growth characteristics of cotton plant, chemical control could begin after floral bud emergence in cotton about every 10 d, and the spraying amount can be controlled according to the growth amount of the main stem. The daily growth amount of plant height should be controlled at 1.5-1.8 cm, and the plant height should be within 75-90 cm. 展开更多

The objective of this paper is to analyze consumers' perceptions about risk and quality attributes of food consumption; and to evaluate the incidence of these factors when buying organic products in the Argentinean domestic market. Data derives from a food consumption survey on organic and non-organic consumers conducted in Buenos Aires City, Argentina, in April 2005.The Lancaster model (1966) provided the theoretical basis. The results yielded by the estimated logistic model suggest that consumers with higher educational level, who eat healthy food, and consider food control organisms as "inefficient" are more likely to buy organic products. A high percentage of consumers read and trust label information in Argentina. This has interesting policy implications to promote differentiated and high value products, and to reduce information asymmetries. 展开更多

[Method] ‘K326’ was used as control, the experiment for variance analysis of growth characteristics and partial production and quality characters of dif-ferent tobacco varieties was carried out in Fengsan Town, Kaiyang County, Guizhou Province in 2015. [Result] GY8 grew faster in early stages and slower in late stages, the growth periods of GY2 (130 d) and GY5(129 d) were the longest, while those of Yun85 (121 d) and Yun87 (121 d) were the shortest; and GY2, GY5 and GY8 had larger plant heights, maximum leaf widths and maximum leaf areas, and Yun85, Yun87 and K326 showed larger stem girths and maximum leaf lengths. Yun87 exhibited lower natural incidences of diseases, while Yun85 and GY8 showed higher incidences of diseases. GY2, GY5 and GY8 had higher nicotine, total nitro-gen, K and Cl contents, while Yun85, Yun87 and K326 had higher total sugar and reducing sugar contents and higher total sugar/nicotine ratio. Yun85 and Yun87 showed better economic characters, while GY5 and GY8 showed poorer economic characters. [Conclusion] Yun85 and Yun87 have quality characters better than GY2 and GY8, field natural incidences of diseases lower than GY2 and GY8, and better economic characters, and thus could serve as candidates in future flue-cured tobac-co production in Guizhou. 展开更多

The food habits hypothesis (FHH) stands as one of the most striking and often-cited interspecific patterns to emerge from comparative studies of endothermic energetics. The FHH identifies three components of diet that potentially produce variability in mass-independent BMR, i.e. food quality, food availability, and food predictability or environmental productivity. The hypothesis predicts that species with diets of low energy content and/or low digestibility should evolve low mass-independent BMRs. The effects of food habits on BMR have been widely investigated at the interspecific level, but the variation between individuals and populations has been largely ignored. Our focus is to compare predictions derived from interspecific studies with data collected from within-species studies to explore the mechanisms and functional significance of adaptive responses predicted by the food-habits hypothesis among birds. We conclude that if BMR is correlated with daily energy expenditure, then organisms that can lower BMR will reduce daily energy expenditure and hence, food requirements. Birds that lower BMR in stressful environments may increase survival. Nevertheless, the mechanism (s) by which birds eating a low quality diet reduce BMR and whether lower BMR affects fitness remain to be determined [Current Zoology 56 (6): 759-766, 2010]. 展开更多

The artificial material and loading system were self-developed to study the influence of bedding cohesion and bolt number on the anchoring behavior of bedded rock mass. The results show that, both peak strength and elasticity modulus increase gradually with the increase of bedding cohesion and bolt number. The axial stress–strain curve of bedded rock mass under the reinforcement of bolts presents the features of strain-softening and secondary strengthening. Finally, anchoring behavior of bedded rock mass with different bolt numbers was simulated by using FLAC3 D numerical program and the results were compared with the experimental results. The effect of using different cereal brans (wheat, rice, oat and their combination) at different levels (0, 5, 10%) in different indigenous products (Balushahi, Mathi, Kulcha and Paratha) on color, texture and sensory quality was studied. The addition of cereal bran decreased the "L" values and increased the "a" value of all the developed indigenous products. Supplementation of different cereal bran had significant effect on texture of the developed indigenous products. Overall hardness of the products decreased with addition of cereal brans. Among various cereal bran levels used, 10% supplementation showed maximum hardness in all types of products. Cereal bran supplementation significantly improved the protein and fibre content of all indigenous products. On the basis of physical analysis and sensory attributes, it was concluded that cereal brans can be substituted upto 5% (rice bran and bran in combination) and 10% levels (wheat bran and oat bran) in whole wheat flour and maida for developing indigenous products without adversely affecting quality attributes. 展开更多

The main purpose of this study was to detect an association of cytoplasmic signal transducers and activators of transcription-1 (STAT1) with milk production traits in 472 Holstein and 283 Jersey cattle breeds of Turkey. This gene, located on chromosome 2, was chosen due to its role on development of mammary gland. A polymorphism of selected 314 bp allele fragment was detected by the restriction fragment length polymorphism analysis of polymerase chain reaction-amplified fragments (PCR-RFLP) method and also confirmed by DNA sequencing. The association tests were conducted between STAT1 genotypes and some economically important dairy traits. The genotypes for C/T as a single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) were identified at interval 60 cM to 63 cM. The effects of STAT1 gene on milk production traits were not significant in Holstein cows, although animals with CT genotypes showed fairly close to significant value for the corrected 305 d milk yield. However, Jersey cows with/7" genotype were 2.07 kg higher for test-day milk yield (P 〈 0.05), 0.13 kg for fat yield (P 〈 0.01) and 0.07 kg for protein yield (P 〈 0.05) compared with animals having CC and CT genotypes. Definitely, the further research should be conducted to search this gene intensively with larger samples to identify polymorphism and any association between the economically important traits and genotypic class in Holstein cows. Finally, based on the findings, it was concluded that STATI gene might be used as a potential candidate gene to improve milk yield and milk fat and protein contents in dairy cows breeding programs. 展开更多

Safety and Quality Attributes of Sucuk-Like Product Made with Mechanically Deboned Broiler/Beef

In this study, sucuk-like products (SLP) has a great consumption in Turkey, which are produced with broiler or mixture of beef and broiler meat and after stuffing into artificial casings heat treatment is applied after rapid fermentation. Quality (color, pH, texture) and safety (2-thiobarbituric acid reactive substance (TBARS) value and biogenic amine) attributes of SLP made with broiler, mechanically deboned meat (MDM) of broiler chicken, mix of broiler chicken and beef, or mix of MDM of broiler chicken and MDM of beef were investigated, pH values of samples had similar range. Mechanically deboned meat containing samples have higher TBARS values than that of others. Samples made with MDM of broiler chicken have higher histamine, tyramine, putrescine and total biogenic amine concentrations than samples made with broiler chicken. There was no significant difference (P 〉 0.05) between total biogenic amine contents of fermented and non-fermented samples. Also, samples gave similar measured and calculated color values. Hardness, gumminess and chewiness values of samples made with MDM of broiler chicken were significantly higher (P 〈 0.05) than samples made with broiler chicken. It was observed that addition of mechanically deboned meat could result in loss of safety and quality attributes of sucuk-like products. 展开更多

The term "biogenic amines" defines decarboxylation products such as histamine, putrescine, serotonin, tyramine, phenylethylamine, tryptamine and also aliphatic polyamines. They can be detected in both raw and processed foods. In the recent years, there is a great interest in biogenic amines as they are associated with quality, safety and freshness of some foods, particularly fermented foods. The presence of biogenic amines in foods can also be used as an indicator of hygienic quality. Biogenic amines also cause health hazards due to their toxic effects especially in sensitive individuals. It is therefore important to control and reduce the biogenic amines. The reduction can be brought about by the use of high pressure, irradiation, packaging, additives, starter cultures and by reduction of decarboxylase activity and temperature. This review summarizes the significance, function, occurrence and formation of biogenic amines in different foods and their reduction by different methods. 展开更多

Disintegration of rock is one of the primary processes of soil formation and geomorphology and is affected considerably by water and heat.This study focused on the disintegration characteristics under laboratory conditions of typical purple mudstone from the Tuodian group of Jurassic red beds(J3t) in Tuodian Town,Shuangbai county,Yunnan Province of southern China.The fresh mudstone was subjected to alternating applications of water,heat and hydrothermal interaction during five treatments:wetting-drying(WD),saturation(ST),refrigeration-heating(RH),a combination of wetting-drying and refrigeration-heating(WDRH),and a combination of saturation and refrigeration-heating(STRH).Each treatment was run in twenty-four cycles.The results showed that there are three types of disintegration:collapsing disintegration,exfoliation disintegration and imperceptible disintegration.The cumulative disintegration rate(percentage of cumulative disintegrated mass to the initiative sample mass passed through a 2 mm sieve) produced a 'S'-shape function when related to treatment cycle time and closely fit a logistic model(R2 > 0.99).The rank order of the cumulative disintegration rate resulting from the five treatments was as the following:WDRH > STRH > ST > WD > RH.Because of alternating periods of moisture and dryness,WD caused the most disintegration,while RH alone resulted in imperceptible disintegration.Additionally,there was a negative correlation between the disintegration rate of each treatment cycle(percentage of disintegrated mass to the treated sample mass) and treatment cycle number.There was a positive correlation between this rate and temperature change under moist conditions,indicating that a change in temperature greatly accelerates the disintegration of parent rock when water was supplied. 展开更多
