Binding Energies of D^- Centers Trapped by a Quantum Dot in a Magnetic Field

A investigation of the properties of the bound states of D^- centers confined in a parabolic quantum dot has been performed for the case with the presence of a perpendicular magnetic field. Calculations are carried out by using the method of numerical diagonalization of Hamiltonian matrix within the effective-mass approximation. The binding energies of the ground and some bound-excited states are obtained as a function of the applied magnetic field strength. Detailed calculations of the binding energies for a number of low-lying states show that for field strength less than B = 2.1 T, the D center confined in a quantum dot possesses two bound states, for 2.1 〈 B 〈 2.4 T, there exist three bound states, etc. Further relevant characteristics of the D- center quantum dots in magnetic fields are provided. 展开更多

In order to improve the anchoring force of anchors for carbon fiber reinforced polymer(CFRP) tendons further, a new wedge-bond-type anchor for CFRP tendons was developed. The increment in anchoring force induced by the clamping segment of anchor was studied. Taking the deformation of all parts in clamping segment in the transverse direction into consideration, the calculation formula for the increment of anchoring force was proposed based on the linear elastic hypotheses. The proposed model is verified by experiments and conclusions are drawn that the anchoring force is influenced mainly by the inclination angle of clamping pieces, the length of clamping part and the thickness of bonding medium. Especially, the thickness of bonding medium should be lowered in design to improve the synergistic effect of anchors. 展开更多

The paper has studied the influence of target material and thickness on energy and angular distributions of the protons generated by using an 800 rim, 60 fs, 0.24 J laser pulse to irradiate solid target foils. The results show that the initial density and thickness of the targets will affect the formation of the acceleration sheath fields in the target normal direction. For the same target thickness, using lower density target materials can obtain a higher proton maximum energy. However, lower density targets tend to be deformed due to the shock waves launched by the laser pulses, making the proton spatial distribution more divergent. 展开更多
