Selecting appropriate resources for running a job efficiently is one of the common objectives in a computational grid. Resource scheduling should consider the specific characteristics of the application, and decide the metrics to be used accordingly. This paper presents a distributed resource scheduling framework mainly consisting of a job scheduler and a local scheduler. In order to meet the requirements of different applications, we adopt HGSA, a Heuristic-based Greedy Scheduling Algorithm, to schedule jobs in the grid, where the heuristic knowledge is the metric weights of the computing resources and the metric workload impact factors. The metric weight is used to control the effect of the metric on the application. For different applications, only metric weights and the metric workload impact factors need to be changed, while the scheduling algorithm remains the same. Experimental results are presented to demonstrate the adaptability of the HGSA. 展开更多

Service composition is considered to be an effective way for resource sharing and node collaboration in Mobile Ad hoc NETworks (MANETs) environment.In order to improve the reliability and shorten the response time of composite services,this paper first analyzes the node environments and network environments that affect the component services' availability,and then proposes an Environment-aware Quantitative Evaluation Model for Service Availability (EQEM-SA).In addition,based on EQEM-SA,a service field concept is proposed as well as the availability attenuation equation,where the availability value is considered as the field strength.Then the service selection approach based on service field model is presented.The effectiveness of the proposed approach is illustrated and compared with related references,and the results of experimental evaluations indicate that our approach significantly reduces the failure rate and shortens the service delay. 展开更多

Knowledge Sharing and Service is one effective way to eliminate knowledge poverty and promote social development.Existing knowledge sharing and service is mainly provided in some organizations or specific social groups.Besides,a knowledge sharing and service system about geography,natural resources and ecology has not been reported.We proposed a public welfare professional knowledge-sharing and service platform for all members of society in geography,natural resources and ecology.The construction of a knowledge-sharing and service platform is based on five aspects of work:analysis of user requirements,setting standards and drafting policies,aggregating knowledge resources,the technical realization and the maintenance of service.Knowledge resources can be aggregated by using a"two-step"strategy.A knowledge-sharing and service system can be implemented by using"four-tier"structures that are comprised of resources,resource access,application and service,based on the Hadoop-distributed cluster architecture.It has been proven that adhering to the idea of co-building and co-sharing,and using the mechanism of"payment is equal to benefit"can effectively promote the gathering of knowledge resources,and arouse the enthusiasm of all members of society to participate in knowledge sharing and service,to achieve the objective of narrowing the knowledge gap between social groups. 展开更多
