Analyzing the influences on market monopoly, output and price decision-making exerted by altruistic preferences, inequity aversion and sequential reciprocity fairness belief equilibrium, game fairness equilibrium which is significant in experimental economics can be obtained and verified by numerical simulation. This work aims to describe the history of biometallurgy in China,introduce the development and application of biometallurgy technologies in exploitation of mineral resources,and identify the main challenges and future...This work aims to describe the history of biometallurgy in China,introduce the development and application of biometallurgy technologies in exploitation of mineral resources,and identify the main challenges and future directions.Although the earliest biometallurgy activities in China were documented in 6th−7th century BC,fundamental research and biometallurgy applications started relatively late in this country.Rapid development,from phenotypic to genotypic characterization of biometallurgy microorganisms,as well as from theoretical to practical applications,has been made in China since the 1950s.The integrated applications of biometallurgy technology in copper,gold,and uranium extraction ensured China’s economic reserves of strategic mineral resources.Developing more efficient microorganisms and strengthening the micro-interface reactions will be an effective way to improve the biometallurgy efficiency.Biometallurgy technologies can also be adapted to recovery of valuable metal from marine minerals and e-wastes and environmental protection including carbon sequestration and heavy metal polluted soil/sediment bioremediation.展开更多
Resources potential assessment is one of the fields in geosciences,which is able to take great advantage of GIS technology as a substitution of traditional working methods.The gold resources potential in the eastern K...Resources potential assessment is one of the fields in geosciences,which is able to take great advantage of GIS technology as a substitution of traditional working methods.The gold resources potential in the eastern Kunlun Mountains,Qinghai Province,China was assessed by combining weights-of-evidence model with GIS spatial analysis technique.All the data sets used in this paper were derived from an established multi-source geological spatial database,which contains geological,geophysical,geochemical and remote sensing data.Three multi-class variables,i.e.,structural intersection,Indosinian k-feldspar granite and regional fault,were used in proximity analysis to examine their spatial association with known gold deposits.A prospectivity map was produced by weights-of-evidence model based on seven binary evidential maps,all of which had passed a conditional independence test.The study area was divided into three target zones of high potential,moderate potential and low potential areas,among which high potential areas and moderate potential areas accounted for 20% of the total area and contained 32 of the 43 gold deposits.The results show that the gold resources potential assessment in the eastern Kunlun Mountains has a higher precision.展开更多

In this study,to prepare a series of activated carbon-supported metals for the catalytic reduction of NO_x to N_2 in excess O_2,activated carbons derived from lignocellulosic and herbaceous biomasses were selected as ...In this study,to prepare a series of activated carbon-supported metals for the catalytic reduction of NO_x to N_2 in excess O_2,activated carbons derived from lignocellulosic and herbaceous biomasses were selected as the reducing agents,and alkali and transition metals were used as the catalytic active phases.The effects of the type of biomass,carbonization temperature and catalyst composition on NO_x reduction efficiency were analyzed in a fixed-bed flow reactor.The results showed that two temperature regimes are present for the NO_x-carbon reaction:at temperatures below 250°C,the NO_x adsorption process on the carbon surface was predominant,whereas true NO_x reduction by carbon occurred at temperatures above 250°C,producing N_2,CO_2 and CO.The influence of the carbonization temperature on carbon reactivity depended on the effect of the carbonization temperature on the carbon surface area and the reduction of the metal species on carbon.All studied metals catalyzed both NO_xand O_2reduction by carbon,and potassium could strongly enhance the C-NO_x reaction without substantial carbon consumption by O_2.Moreover,the potassium supported by sawdust-derived activated carbon exhibited higher selectivity and capacity towards NO_x reduction than did its previously reported coal-derived counterparts.These properties were ascribed to the high dispersion of the active potassium species on the carbon surface,as observed through the comparison of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and powder X-ray diffraction results for the carbons made from biomass and coal-based precursors.展开更多

Here, we investigat...Food distribution and predation pressure are considered to be the main ecological factors that influence the use of forest strata (basically arboreality vs. terrestriality) in non-human primates. Here, we investigate ground use of wild, unprovisioned black-and-white snub-nosed monkeys Rhinopithecus bieti by means of the scan sampling method. The results show that the monkeys spent 15.0% of the day time on the ground; 16.6%, 12.7%, and 15.6% for adult males, adult females and juveniles, respectively. Adult males and juveniles of both sexes showed significantly higher rates of terrestrial time than adult females. Females without clinging infants spent significantly more time on the ground than expected, while females with clinging infants spent significantly less time on the ground than expected. These results suggest that the higher degree of terrestrial behavior for males and juveniles may be due to their higher agility in comparison with females. Our study showed that the monkeys fed more on lichens relative to other food items when in the trees, but more on buds/leaves, flowers, fruits/nuts, resin/bark, and herbs when on the ground. The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of institutional support through appropriate training programs and...Institutional support is an essential antecedent for lecturer's preparedness for e-learning. The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of institutional support through appropriate training programs and budgetary allocation on lecturers' preparedness for e-learning at the University of Nairobi. A cross-sectional survey design was applied to source data from 212 lecturers and 96 administrative staff. Both quantitative and qualitative techniques were applied to process, analyze, and interpret the data. Quantitative analysis yielded descriptive statistics as well as cross tabulations with Chi-square (x^2) statistic. The study found lack of significant relationship between lecturer's preparedness for e-learning and knowledge of the existence of an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) training program. The existing training program was still underdeveloped in terms of funding and strategies. Lecturers' preparedness for e-learning was also not significantly associated with perceived effectiveness of the existing training program; but was significantly related to training in software tools, as well as the source of funding for training. Although a team of ICT experts has been mandated to help academic staff prepare for e-learning, the team's functionality was constrained by under-funding and multiple roles. Lecturer's preparedness for e-learning also significantly associated with perceived adequacy of budgetary allocation for ICT program at the departmental level. Under-funding was a key factor constraining access to computers at the workplace, reliable internet connectivity and timely technical support, all of which significantly associated with lecturers' preparedness for e-learning. Universities in resource-poor settings should consider creating necessary partnerships to create avenues for information and resource sharing, revamp existing training programs with fmancial and human resources, create linkages with funding institutions, as well as improve budgetary allocation to ensure universal access to functional computers at the workplace, reliable internet connectivity and timely technical support.展开更多

Ensuring the access of all citizens to the needed medical care requires the provision of health insurance coverage to a population pool and gradually expanding the pool to the whole nation. The ethical perspective of pooling resources across various groups of people with different levels of income and different health risks associated with age, genetics, and lifestyle, may raise the issue of individual autonomy versus social solidarity. Governmental, social, private, and community-based healthcare coverage have been used in different countries with varying details in the sources of funding, pooling of contributions, and the purchase of the covered healthcare services; these models have had varying levels of success depending on not only the availability of funds, but also on the political commitment of the state and the social solidarity and cultural attitude of the population towards universal healthcare. Therefore, universal healthcare requires not only a certain level of economic development, but also a strong sense of solidarity among the people as well as a political commitment in their government. I argue that the statement regarding the right to health, well-being, and medical care needs to be rethought, and instead universal access to essential healthcare should be regarded as a basic human right.展开更多

The current economical crisis pointed out the gaps and the weak development of the Romanian economical system. If we were to compare the economy of a country to the human body then we would realize that constant and m...The current economical crisis pointed out the gaps and the weak development of the Romanian economical system. If we were to compare the economy of a country to the human body then we would realize that constant and massive loss of "blood" may eventually lead to collapse of the economical system, which require Romania to speed up financial "transfusions". In these conditions, the most accessible and inexpensive source of funding is the non-repayable funding that Romanian economy can acquire by the year of 2013. In this paper we analyze the evolution of non-repayable funds allocated to Romania, in terms of those funds for the approved projects (their implementation has not yet started) but also in terms of those contracted projects or in the process of running (in fact representing "the necessary" amount of money that the Romanian economy needs). The first part of the paper contains an overview of the situation about the requiring and the absorption of non-repayable funding since 2007 (officially since the crisis emerged in the U.S.) to present, also making an analysis of the influence they had on the Romanian economy. We take into account in this analysis that the effects of the crisis in Romania began to be felt in the second half of 2008, economical politics against crisis were not taken into accounted by this date. In this analysis we started from the assumption that one anti-crisis policy, taken into account by public decision members in Romania, is to increase efficiency and absorption of funds by raising the capacity of the Romanian economical environment for the implementation (and not only the winning ) of these funds. The second part of the paper contains an econometrieal development model which highlights the influence of changing the interest rates and exchange rate on the rate of contracting projects during January 2007-March 2010. The Analysis of the results emphasizes the stronger influence of the changing rate on the approved contracting projects compared with the changing influence of the reference interest rate. Following the results of the analysis we highlight the main reasons for which this economical policy of attracting and using outstanding funding represents until now, a failure more than a success. Also we present these several solutions to increase the volume of financial "transfusion" with a direct impact on the Romanian economy, arguing that such measures cannot be implemented without real political will from decision-makers in Romania.展开更多

Governmental, social, private, and community-based healthcare coverage have been used in different countries with varying details in the sources of funding, pooling of contributions, and the purchase of the covered healthcare services; these models have had varying levels of success depending on not only the availability of funds, but also on the political commitment of the state and the social solidarity and cultural attitude of the population towards universal healthcare. Therefore, universal healthcare requires not only a certain level of economic development, but also a strong sense of solidarity among the people as well as a political commitment in their government. I argue that the statement regarding the right to health, well-being, and medical care needs to be rethought, and instead universal access to essential healthcare should be regarded as a basic human right.

The classification system is part of an official procedure determined by the Ukrainian State Commission on Reserves. Following preparation of resource estimates the results that are registered with the State, which maintains an official inventory of all mineral resources.
文摘The current economical crisis pointed out the gaps and the weak development of the Romanian economical system. If we were to compare the economy of a country to the human body then we would realize that constant and massive loss of "blood" may eventually lead to collapse of the economical system, which require Romania to speed up financial "transfusions". In these conditions, the most accessible and inexpensive source of funding is the non-repayable funding that Romanian economy can acquire by the year of 2013. In this paper we analyze the evolution of non-repayable funds allocated to Romania, in terms of those funds for the approved projects (their implementation has not yet started) but also in terms of those contracted projects or in the process of running (in fact representing "the necessary" amount of money that the Romanian economy needs). The first part of the paper contains an overview of the situation about the requiring and the absorption of non-repayable funding since 2007 (officially since the crisis emerged in the U.S.) to present, also making an analysis of the influence they had on the Romanian economy. We take into account in this analysis that the effects of the crisis in Romania began to be felt in the second half of 2008, economical politics against crisis were not taken into accounted by this date. In this analysis we started from the assumption that one anti-crisis policy, taken into account by public decision members in Romania, is to increase efficiency and absorption of funds by raising the capacity of the Romanian economical environment for the implementation (and not only the winning ) of these funds. The second part of the paper contains an econometrieal development model which highlights the influence of changing the interest rates and exchange rate on the rate of contracting projects during January 2007-March 2010. The Analysis of the results emphasizes the stronger influence of the changing rate on the approved contracting projects compared with the changing influence of the reference interest rate. Following the results of the analysis we highlight the main reasons for which this economical policy of attracting and using outstanding funding represents until now, a failure more than a success. Also we present these several solutions to increase the volume of financial "transfusion" with a direct impact on the Romanian economy, arguing that such measures cannot be implemented without real political will from decision-makers in Romania.
