Scanning electron microscopy re veals that exudates are present in the intercellular spaces, in the clefts between the multicel lular papillae and on the receptive surface. Release and movement of exudates can be visual ized when the fresh stigmas are stained with sudan Ⅲ and auramine O. Paraffin and semi thin resin sections of stigmas after glutaraldehyde osmium fixation evidence the lipidic nature of the exudates. Transmission electron microscopy reveals the glandular features of the stigmatic papillae cells, such as abundance of rough and smooth endoplasmic reticulum, polyribosomes, and well developed dictyosomes with secretory vesicles. Pellicle and epicuticular lamellate layers which have been considered as typical features of the dry type stigmas are also present in the species where stigmas appear extremely wet. It is concluded that stigmas in all of the five species are secretory at the receptive stage. Well developed generative and sperm cells were observed in the pollen tubes penetrating through the deep layers of the stigmatic tissue in the reciprocal crosses between P. euphratica and P. simonii, which indicated that there is no significant barrier in the stigma.展开更多

Under critical conditions according to the nonlinear theory, the critical behaviors and the forming mechanism of pillar instability were discussed by external disturbance , such as stresses waves by blasting , axial force eccentricity ratherish and imperfections in pillar. The results show that the micro-disturbances attenuate with time and they are independence each other when pillar is in the stability state. Their effects on the stability of system are inessential. The correlation degree of disturbances increases sharply and various micro-disturbances are relative and nested reciprocally when the system is in critical state and they also cooperate with each other, which induces system to reach a new state.展开更多

METHODS: Twenty-one patients undergoing subtotal colectomy with ileorectal anastomosis were included. There were more than 5 large (〉 1 cm) polyps in the remaining rectum (range: 6-20 cm from the anal edge). All patients, 19 with villous adenomas and 2 with low-grade adenocarcinomas, underwent TEM with submucosal endoscopic excision at least twice between 2005 and 2011. Anorectal manometry and a question- naire about incontinence were carried out at week 1 before operation, and at weeks 2 and 3 and 6 mo after the last operation. Anal resting pressure, maxi- mum squeeze pressure, maximum tolerable volume (MTV) and rectoanal inhibitory reflexes (RAIR) were recorded. The integrity and thickness of the internal anal sphincter (IAS) and external anal sphincter (EAS) were also evaluated by endoanal ultrasonography. We determined the physical and mental health status with SF-36 score to assess the effect of multiple TEM on patient quality of life (QoL). RESULTS: All patients answered the questionnaire. Apart from negative RAIR in 4 patients, all of the anorectal manometric values in the 21 patients were normal before operation. Mean anal resting pressure decreased from 38±5 mmHg to 19±3 mmHg (38±5 mmHg vs 19±3 mmHg, P = 0.000) and MTV from 165± 19mLto60± 11mL(165± 19mLvs60± 11 mL, P = 0.000) at month 3 after surgery. Anal resting pressure and MTV were 37 ± 5 mmHg (38 ± 5 mmHg vs 37 ± 5 mmHg, P = 0.057) and 159 ± 19 mL (165 ± 19 mL vs 159 ± 19 mL, P = 0.071), respectively, at month 6 after TEM. Maximal squeeze pressure de- creased from 171 ± 19 mmHg to 62 ± 12 mmHg (171 ± 19 mmHg vs 62 ± 12 mmHg, P = 0.000) at week 2 after operation, and returned to normal values by postoperative month 3 (171 ± 19 vs 166 ± 18, P = 0.051). RAIR were absent in 4 patients preoperatively and in 12 (χ2 = 4.947, P = 0.026) patients at month 3 after surgery. PAIR was absent only in 5 patients at postoperative month 6 (χ2 = 0.141, P = 0.707). Endo- sonography demonstrated that IAS disruption occurred in 8 patients, and 6 patients had temporary inconti- nence to flatus that was normalized by postoperative month 3. IAS thickness decreased from 1.9 ± 0.6 mm preoperatively to 1.3 ± 0.4 mm (1.9 ± 0.6 mm vs 1.3 ± 0.4 mm, P = 0.000) at postoperative month 3 and increased to 1.8 ± 0.5 mm (1.9 ± 0.6 mm vs 1.8 ± 0.5 mm, P = 0.239) at postoperative month 6. EAS thickness decreased from 3.7 ± 0.6 mm preoperatively to 3.5 ± 0.3 mm (3.7 ± 0.6 mm vs 3.5 ± 0.3 mm, P = 0.510) at month 3 and then increased to 3.6 ± 0.4 mm (3.7 ± 0.6 mm vs 3.6 ± 0.4 mm, P = 0.123) at month 6 after operation. Most patients had frequent stools per day and relatively high Wexner scores in a short time period. While actual fecal incontinence was exceptional, episodes of soiling were reported by 3 pa- tients. With regard to the QoL, the physical and mental health status scores (SF-36) were 56.1 and 46.2 (50 in the general population), respectively.CONCLUSION: The anorectal function after repeated TEM is preserved. Multiple TEM procedures are useful for resection of multi-polyps in the remaining rectum.展开更多

The results show that macroscopic transverse fractures of the inner coal pillar are developed within 2–4 m of the roadway surface, which is located outside the coal pillar anchorage zone. There is a displacement of 530 mm at the monitoring point in the 6 m deep zone of the pillar. Transfer of the fracture zone is found in a small coal pillar and the fractures within 3–4 m of the coal-rock zone from the roadway surface undergo propagation and closure of cracks which means this fracture zone is transferred from 3–4 m outside the roadway to only 2–3 m from the roadway surface. In the monitoring zone, vertical and horizontal stresses increase with a feature that shows that acceleration in the deep zone of the pillar is greater than that in the shallow zone. Furthermore, the acceleration of vertical stress is also greater than that of horizontal stress with a peak value in the 4 m zone. The research findings provide a reference for the regulation of a reasonable width of coal pillar in coalmines and optimal control design of surrounding rock.展开更多

In this paper, the adsorption equilibrium of citric acid from supercritical CO2/ethanol on a cyano column was systematically investigated with the elution by characteristic point method. Equilibrium loading was obtained at 313.15 K and 321.15 K with supercritical CO2/ethanol densities varying from 0.7068 g·cm-3to 0.8019 g·cm-3. The experimental results showed that the adsorption capacity of citric acid decreased with increasing temperature and increasing density of the supercritical CO2/ethanol mobile phase. The adsorption equilibrium data were fitted well by the Quadratic Hill isotherm model and the isotherms showed anti-Langmuir behavior. The monolayer saturation adsorption capacity of citric acid is in the range of 44.54 mg·cm-3to 64.66 mg·cm-3with an average value of 56.86 mg·cm-3.展开更多

Effects of applied axial load ratio and volumetric stirrup ratio on ductility, energy dissipation capacity, strength degradation and rigidity degradation were discussed. It was found that all connection specimens failed in bending in a ductile manner with a beam plastic hinge. The ductility and energy dissipation capacity increased with the decrease of applied axial load ratio or increase of volumetric stirrup ratio. The displacement ductility coefficient and equivalent damping coefficient lay between those of steel reinforced ordinary concrete connection and those of reinforced concrete connection. The applied axial load ratio and volumetric stirrup ratio had less influence on the strength degradation and more influence on the stiffness degradation. The stiffness degraded sharply with the decrease of volumetric stirrup ratio or increase of applied axial load ratio. The experimental results indicate that SRUHSC column and RC beam connection exhibited better seismic performance and can provide reference for engineering application.展开更多
