In this thesis,construction industries face with the major challenges are cost overruns and time delays, which have existed in most of projects, especially in developing countries. Construction projects and the environment are increasingly complex, thus it has greater demands on project managers and cost managers that deliver processes on time. However the process of construction is limited to unforeseeable and variable factors, resulting from many sources. The aim of the report is to analyze determining factors about causing budget overrun and time delays by reviewing and identifying past cases. Furthermore, the construction process is made up of three critical phases, i.e. conception, design, construction. Generally, the majority of time delays and cost overrun happen in the period of construction, where many factors are always unforeseeable, and time delays usually associate with cost overruns. Using this product, we define a hyperoperation ⊙ on the group Syme (G) , the stabilizer of the identity e ∈ G in the group Sym (G) . We prove that ( Syme (G) , ⊙) is a hypergroup and characterize the subhypergroups of this hypergroup.Finally, we show that the set of all subhypergroups of Syme ( G ) constitute a lattice under ordinary join and meet and that the minimal elements of order two of this lattice is a subgroup of Aut (G) . 展开更多

Numerical Investigation of Particle Temperature Change in Supersonic Flows

Gas-particle two-phase flow is a very important consideration in designing various machines. Although a great deal of theoretical, experimental, and numerical research has been carried out, particle motion in a supersonic flow has not been sufficiently clarified. Hence, in order to clarify the interactions between flow and particles, the authors consider the characteristics of particle motion, especially at high temperatures. In the present study, the flow of a gas with a diluted particle load is to be simulated in a conventional converging-diverging supersonic nozzle. The turbulent gas flow in the nozzle is computed with the finite difference and RANS (raynolds averaged navier-stokes simulation) methods. The particle motion is simulated in a Lagrangian manner. In addition, taking into account the light particle loading, a weak coupling method is used. Through this investigation, it is shown that the particle velocity increases monotonically from the nozzle throat to the outlet. And it is shown that particles can be accelerated to higher velocities in helium than in nitrogen, and smaller particles tend to attain higher speed and lower static temperature. 展开更多

Stimulated emission depletion(STED) microscope is one of the most prominent super-resolution bio-imaging instruments, which holds great promise for ultrahigh-resolution imaging of cells. To construct a STED microscope, it is challenging to realize temporal synchronization between the excitation pulses and the depletion pulses. In this study, we present a simple and low-cost method to achieve pulse synchronization by using a condensed fluorescent dye as a depletion indicator. By using this method, almost all the confocal microscopes can be upgraded to a STED system without losing its original functions. After the pulse synchronization,our STED system achieved sub-100-nm resolution for fluorescent nanospheres and single-cell imaging. 展开更多
