The method integrates the multiple model (MM) filter with an unscented particle filter (UPF) by an interaction step at the beginning. The framework (interaction/mixing, filtering, and combination) is similar to that in a standard IMM filter, but an UPF is adopted in each model. Therefore, the filtering performance and degeneracy phenomenon of particles are improved. The filtering method addresses nonlinear and/or non-Gaussian tracking problems. Simulation results show that the method has better tracking performance compared with the standard IMM-type filter and IMM particle filter.展开更多
Objective To investigate the feasibility of acquiring the similar homogeneous enhancement using bolus-tracking techniques with shortened respiratory time in prospectively electrocardiogram-gated high-pitch spiral acqu...Objective To investigate the feasibility of acquiring the similar homogeneous enhancement using bolus-tracking techniques with shortened respiratory time in prospectively electrocardiogram-gated high-pitch spiral acquisition mode (Flash mode) coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) compared with test bolus technique. Methods One hundred and eighty-four consecutive patients with mean heart rate ≤65 beats per minute undergoing CCTA were prospectively included in this study. The patients were randomly divided into two groups. Patients in the group A (n=92) instructed to shorten respiratory time received CCTA using bolus-tracking technique with high-pitch spiral acquisition mode (Flash mode), while those in the group B (n=92) underwent CCTA with test bolus technique. The attenuation in the ascending aorta, image noise, contrast-to-noise ratio and radiation doses of the two groups were assessed. Results There were no significant differences in the mean attenuation values in the ascending aorta (483.18±59.07 HU vs. 498.7±83.51 HU, P=0.183), image noise (21.4±4.5 HU vs. 20.9±4.3 HU, P=0.414), contrast-to-noise ratio (12.1±4.2 vs. 13.8±5.1, P=0.31) between the groups A and B. There were no significant differences in the radiation dose of dynamic monitoring scans (0.056±0.026 mSv vs. 0.062±0.018 mSv, P=0.068) and radiation dose of angiography (0.94±0.07 mSv vs. 0.96±0.15 mSv,P=0.926) between the two groups, while 15 mL less contrast material volume was administered in the group A than the group B. Conclusion Bolus-tracking technique with shortened time of respiratory in Flash mode of dual-source CT yields the similar homogeneous enhancement with less contrast material in comparison to the test bolus technique.展开更多

This model comprises two submodels: a plume dynamics model and an advection-diffusion model. The former is used to simulate the stages dominated by the initial jet momentum and plume buoyancy of the spilled oil,while the latter is used to simulate the stage dominated by the ambient current and turbulence. The model validity was verified through comparisons of the model predictions with experimental data from several laboratory flume experiments and a field experiment. To demonstrate the capability of the model further,it was applied to the simulation of a hypothetical oil spill occurring at the seabed of a deepwater oil/gas field in the South China Sea. The results of the simulation would be useful for contingency planning with regard to the emergency response to an underwater oil spill.展开更多
A simple and sensitive kinetic spectrophotometric method for the determination of trace amounts of titanium(IV),based upon the catalytic effect of Ti(IV) on the oxidation of acid chrome blue K (ACBK) by hydrogen perox...A simple and sensitive kinetic spectrophotometric method for the determination of trace amounts of titanium(IV),based upon the catalytic effect of Ti(IV) on the oxidation of acid chrome blue K (ACBK) by hydrogen peroxide in 0.002 mol/L sulfuric acid,is described. The reaction rate is monitored spectrophotometrically by measuring the decrease in absorbance of ACBK at 524 nm. The detection limit of the method is 1.01×10?9 g/mL,and the linear range is 0-0.048 mg/L. The influence of acidity,concentration of reactants,reaction time,reaction temperature and for-eign ions is also discussed. The optimum reaction conditions were established and some kinetic parameters determined. The apparent activation energy of the catalytic reaction is 5.32 kJ/mol. The relative standard deviation for the determi-nation of titanium(IV) at the concentration of 0.048 mg/L is calculated to be 1.31% (n = 11). In combination with sol-vent extraction separation,the method has been successfully applied to the determination of trace titanium(IV) in human hair,plant matter,tea and rock samples. The results are in good agreement with the certified values with the relative standard deviations (RSD) of 1.4%-3.5%.展开更多

The main purpose of the proposed algorithm is the segment of the lungs images from the computer tomography(CT) images. The original image is binarized using the bit-plane slicing technique and among the different images the best binarized image is chosen. After binarization, the labeling is done and the area of each label is calculated from which the next level of binarized image is obtained. Then, the boundary tracing algorithm is applied to get another level of binarized image. The proposed method is able to extract lung region from the original images. An accurate model for D-STATCOM is derived to use in load flow calculations. The rating of this device as well as the direction of required reactive power injection for voltage compensation in the desired value (1 p.u.) is de- rived and discussed analytically and mathematically by the phasor diagram method. Furthermore, an efficient method for node and line identification used in load flow calculations is presented. The validity of the proposed model is examined by using two standard distribution systems consisting of 33 and 69 nodes, respectively. The best location of D-STATCOM for under voltage problem mitigation approach in the distribution networks is determined. The results validate the proposed model for D- STATCOM in large distribution systems.展开更多

The values and changing roles of the indices are the foundations of coal and gas outbursts prediction. But now, only the data of ere key monitoring station is used in the coal and gas outbursts prediction practice, and the other data are ignored. In order to overcome the human factor and make full use of the monitoring information, the technique of multi-sensor target tracking is proposed to deal with the microseismic informatiion. With the results of microseismic events, the activities of geological structure, fracure-depth of roof and floor, and the location of gas channel are obtained. These studies indicate that it is considerably possible to predict the coal and gas outbursts using microseismic monitoring with its inherent ability to remotely monitor the progressive failure caused by mining.展开更多
Indoor multi-tracking is more challenging compared with outdoor tasks due to frequent occlusion, view-truncation, severe scale change and pose variation, which may bring considerable unreliability and ambiguity to tar...Indoor multi-tracking is more challenging compared with outdoor tasks due to frequent occlusion, view-truncation, severe scale change and pose variation, which may bring considerable unreliability and ambiguity to target representation and data association. So discriminative and reliable target representation is vital for accurate data association in multi-tracking. Pervious works always combine bunch of features to increase the discriminative power, but this is prone to error accumulation and unnecessary computational cost, which may increase ambiguity on the contrary. Moreover, reliability of a same feature in different scenes may vary a lot, especially for currently widespread network cameras, which are settled in various and complex indoor scenes, previous fixed feature selection schemes cannot meet general requirements. To properly handle these problems, first, we propose a scene-adaptive hierarchical data association scheme, which adaptively selects features with higher reliability on target representation in the applied scene, and gradually combines features to the minimum requirement of discriminating ambiguous targets; second, a novel depth-invariant part-based appearance model using RGB-D data is proposed which makes the appearance model robust to scale change, partial occlusion and view-truncation. The introduce of RGB-D data increases the diversity of features, which provides more types of features for feature selection in data association and enhances the final multi-tracking performance. We validate our method from several aspects including scene-adaptive feature selection scheme, hierarchical data association scheme and RGB-D based appearance modeling scheme in various indoor scenes, which demonstrates its effectiveness and efficiency on improving multi-tracking performances in various indoor scenes.展开更多

Since flat belts are commonly used for conveying and transmission purposes, tracking systems have been well developed, but the ultimate tracking behaviour of the belt can be greatly enhanced by taking special care in the creation of an adequate tracking mechanism. To obtain long-life operation and full value from the equipment, the correct tracking technique plays an important role. This paper deals with two tracking techniques: The skewed and the angled pulley axis. Numerical simulation results are compared with both measurements and an analytical approach. The advantages of numerical simulation compared to experimental tests are ease, convenience and the absence of any safety risk. Compared to analytical approaches the simulation is used for systems for which simple closed form analytic solutions are not possible.展开更多

This paper outlines how digital processes intersect with aesthetic and conceptual forms. Relevant frameworks, such as materiality, embodiment, hybridity, interactivity, and narrativity, form the origins of the genre. Digital artworks, like digital media, are interactive, participatory, dynamic, and customizable, incorporating shifting data flows and real-time user inputs (Paul 2003, 67). To track the rapidly changing temperature profiles of thermal cycling of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) accurately, an innovative feedforward variable structural proportional-integral-derivative (FVSPID) controll...To track the rapidly changing temperature profiles of thermal cycling of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) accurately, an innovative feedforward variable structural proportional-integral-derivative (FVSPID) controller was developed. Based on the step response test data of the heat block, a reduced first order model was estabfished at different operating points. Based on the reduced model, the FVSPID controller combined a feedforward path with the variable structural proportional-integral-derivative (PID) control. The modified feedforward action provided directly the optimal predictive power for the desired setpoint to speed up the dynamic response. To cooperate with the feedforward action, a variable structural PID was applied, where the P mode was used in the case of the largest errors to speed up response, whereas the PD mode was used in the case of larger errors to suppress overshoot, and finally the PID mode was applied for small error conditions to eliminate the steady state offset. Experimental results illustrated that compared to the conventional PID controller, the FVSPID controller can not only reduce the time taken to complete a standard PCR protocol, but also improve the accuracy of gene amplification.展开更多

A large amount of the current studies put forward different models and algorithms about most influential people. However, there is little work to shed light on how to rank communities while considering their levels that are determined by the quality of their published contents. In this paper, we propose solution for measuring the influence of communities and ranking them by considering joint weight composed of internal and external influence of communities. To address this issue, we design a novel algorithm called Com Rank: a modification of Page Rank, which considers the joint weight in order to identify impact of each community and ranking them. We use real-world data trace in citation network and perform extensive experiments to evaluate our proposed algorithm. The comparative results depict significant improvements by our algorithm in community ranking due to the inclusion of proposed weighting feature.展开更多

Digital artworks, like digital media, are interactive, participatory, dynamic, and customizable, incorporating shifting data flows and real-time user inputs (Paul 2003, 67). The customization of content and technology, as well as the recontextualization of information, characterize projects of digital art.

文摘To track the rapidly changing temperature profiles of thermal cycling of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) accurately, an innovative feedforward variable structural proportional-integral-derivative (FVSPID) controller was developed. Based on the step response test data of the heat block, a reduced first order model was estabfished at different operating points. Based on the reduced model, the FVSPID controller combined a feedforward path with the variable structural proportional-integral-derivative (PID) control. The modified feedforward action provided directly the optimal predictive power for the desired setpoint to speed up the dynamic response. To cooperate with the feedforward action, a variable structural PID was applied, where the P mode was used in the case of the largest errors to speed up response, whereas the PD mode was used in the case of larger errors to suppress overshoot, and finally the PID mode was applied for small error conditions to eliminate the steady state offset. Experimental results illustrated that compared to the conventional PID controller, the FVSPID controller can not only reduce the time taken to complete a standard PCR protocol, but also improve the accuracy of gene amplification.

文摘Recently, the community analysis has seen enormous research advancements in the field of social networks. A large amount of the current studies put forward different models and algorithms about most influential people. However, there is little work to shed light on how to rank communities while considering their levels that are determined by the quality of their published contents. In this paper, we propose solution for measuring the influence of communities and ranking them by considering joint weight composed of internal and external influence of communities. To address this issue, we design a novel algorithm called Com Rank: a modification of Page Rank, which considers the joint weight in order to identify impact of each community and ranking them. We use real-world data trace in citation network and perform extensive experiments to evaluate our proposed algorithm. The comparative results depict significant improvements by our algorithm in community ranking due to the inclusion of proposed weighting feature.
