Existing stud- ies ...The fifth generation (5G) wireless communication is currently a hot research topic and wireless communication systems on high speed railways (HSR) are important applications of 5G technologies. Existing stud- ies about 5G wireless systems on high speed railways (HSR) often utilize ideal channel parameters and are usually based on simple scenarios. In this paper, we evaluate the down- link throughput of 5G HSR communication systems on three typical scenarios including urban, cutting and viaduct with three different channel estimators. The channel parameters of each scenario are generated with tapped delay line (TDL) models through ray-tracing sim- ulations, which can be considered as a good match to practical situations. The channel estimators including least square (LS), linear minimum mean square error (LMMSE), and our proposed historical information based ba- sis expansion model (HiBEM). We analyze the performance of the HiBEM estimator in terms of mean square error (MSE) and evaluate the system throughputs with different channel estimates over each scenario. Simulation results are then provided to corroborate our proposed studies. It is shown that our HiBEM estimator outperforms other estimators and that the sys-tem throughput can reach the highest point in the viaduct scenario.展开更多

This not only promotes the change of teaching concept and the reform of teaching method...Recent years have witnessed the growth of the popularity of open online learning platforms in China’s colleges and universities. This not only promotes the change of teaching concept and the reform of teaching methodology, but also provides a broad new opportunity for the teaching resource integration between universities in China and the prestigious universities in the world. However, with MOOC’s booming and spreading, educators and teachers have also found its limitations during the course of teaching and learning. This paper focuses on the design and the application of the integration of blended learning model and MOOC in Business English Course by selective use of the Open Course Ware of MIT Management School. With the advanced e-portfolio assessment as the standard for students’ achievement, it aims to reveal that the proposed model can trigger students’ study interest and cultivate their autonomous study, corporate learning as well as creative thinking ability.展开更多
Four different PV (photovoltaic) systems deployed around Tucson Arizona on geomembranes are used to test the feasibility of converting mine tailings and landfills into solar energy generating sites. Differences betw...Four different PV (photovoltaic) systems deployed around Tucson Arizona on geomembranes are used to test the feasibility of converting mine tailings and landfills into solar energy generating sites. Differences between these deployed systems include: two types of geomembrane materials, two different module anatomies and two different locations. Module mounting techniques unique to mine tailing sites are described. Several system failures observed during the first two years of operation are explained here in detail. Validated predictions for the operating temperature of these systems and their associated electrical performance are presented. It was determined that PV modules mounted on light-colored thermoplastic with shielded wiring operate at lower temperatures, are structurally stable, and experience fewer wiring failures.展开更多
Cultural tourism routes can reveal and protect cultural tourism heritage by means of cultural tourism in the'time category'and the'space category'.The construction of an evaluation system for cultural ...Cultural tourism routes can reveal and protect cultural tourism heritage by means of cultural tourism in the'time category'and the'space category'.The construction of an evaluation system for cultural tourism routes and the evaluation,scoring and grading of existing and potential cultural tourism routes are the key to the protection of heritage,history and culture along these routes,and the key to encouraging the standardization,branding and sustainable development of various formats on the routes.Yunnan cultural tourism routes are diverse and rich in resources,and their developmental foundation is good.However,the tourism development and cultural development activities occur along separate lines and there is a lack of unified management.Therefore,it is necessary to conduct research on information collection,information analysis,problem diagnosis and improvement of status in the local practices of Yunnan cultural tourism routes,and to guide the sustainable development of Yunnan cultural tourism routes.Based on the advanced experience of COE(Council of Europe),UNESCO WHC(United Nations Educational,Scientific and Cultural Organization,World Heritage Committee)and ICOMOS(International Council on Monuments and Sites),this paper comprehensively analyzes the decisive criteria for line evaluation by interpreting and summarizing the connotations of cultural tourism routes,and determines that the evaluation of cultural tourism routes should include lines.Five aspects―the theme,the participating subject,the object itself,related activities and multi-party value―are used to construct a five-component model.At the same time,based on the consumer utility function,a complete route evaluation and hierarchical system is constructed.Then,taking the Ancient Tea-horse Road cultural tourism route as an example and using the expert scoring method and the analytic hierarchy process,the actual scores and grades of the Ancient Tea-horse Road cultural tourism route are determined,and countermeasures and suggestions for its sustainable development are proposed.The paper also verifies the applicability and practicability of the evaluation system,and promotes and improves the feedback evaluation system.The aim is to at promote and widely apply the evaluation system of cultural tourism routes,realizing the transformation from individual cases to joint cases,and promoting the standardization and sustainable development of cultural tourism routes.展开更多
