Both f...Using CSMA/CD for EPON can eliminate the augmentations, such as multi-point control protocol and point-to-point emulation, added to the existing 802.3 architecture due to the incompatibility of PON to Ethernet. Both full-duplex EPON system and half-duplex EPON system using CSMA/CD were proposed. In the full-duplex EPON, CSMA/CD is used as the upstream MAC protocol. In the half-duplex EPON system, both upstream and downstream traffic contend for the optical channel through CSMA/CD protocol. The upstream lightwave redirection and collision detection techniques were given. By the analysis and simulation, the throughput performance of the half-duplex EPON system is proven to be as well as that of the existing high speed half-duplex Ethernet LAN.展开更多

Then the basic idea, the overall framework and the technical flow of the interpolation are put forward, at the samet:me synthetical weight function of the interpolation method is defined and described. The method and technical strategies of object selection are extended, and the key problems are solved, including the dejign of the objective quantitative and structural selections based on the weight values, the interpolation experiment strategies and technical flows, the result of the test shows that the object interpolation method not only inherits the objects at smaller scales, but also takes the attribute effect into account when deriving objects from larger scales according to the road importance, which is a guarantee to objective selection of the road objects at middle scales.展开更多

Based on this model and relevant Routing and Wavelength Assign- ment (RWA) strategy, a unicast RWA algorithm and a multicast RWA algorithm are presented. The wave- length-dependent equivalent arc expresses the schedule of local RWA and the equivalent network expresses the whole topology of WDM optical networks, so the two algorithms are of the flexibility in RWA and the optimi- zation of the whole problem. The theoretic analysis and simulation results show the two algorithms are of the stronger capability and the lower complexity than the other existing algorithms for RWA problem, and the complexity of the two algorithms are only related to the scale of the equivalent networks. Finally, we prove the two algorithms’ feasibility and the one-by-one corresponding relation between the equivalent multicast tree and original multicast tree, and point out the superiorities and drawbacks of the two algorithms respectively.展开更多

Surveyi...Performing surveys on a single section of a road is quite different from that on a road network. In the first case, the need for performance characteristics of the pavement may be of service to rehabilitation. Surveying a road network, instead, aims to establish service levels, identify deficiencies and priorities and define budgets for maintenance. This challenge needs a methodological approach in order to widen the action plan and optimize the cost-benefit analysis of each asset through the use of preventive maintenance policies. High-speed monitoring systems on the market were specialized towards the necessity of measuring specific performance of the pavement or mapping land (data inventory). The technological development of instrumentations such as inertial systems and synchronizers has enabled the integration of different devices and the achievement of the best correlation of data. This is the case of the LARAN (laser road analyzer), whose helpfulness will be presented within a case study in which geometrical data and surface characteristic information-cracks, texture, profiles-were obtained through a unique survey. The cross-analysis resulted efficient for safety purposes and also for the identification of “black points” corresponding to boundary operative conditions of the road with respect to technical standards and recommendations.展开更多

The color-sensitive graph power control schemes in OFDM-based multi-hop coloring (CSGC) model is viewed as an efficient solution to the spectrum assignment problem. The model is extended to combine with the power con- trol strategy to avoid interference among secondary users and adapt dynamic topology. The optimiza- tion problem is formulated encompassing the channel allocation and power control with the interfer- ence constrained below a tolerable limit. Meanwhile, the proposed resource allocation scheme takes the fairness of secondary users into account in obtaining the solution of optimization. Numerical re- suits show that the proposed strategy outperforms the existing spectrum assignment algorithms on the performance of both the network throughput and minimum route bandwidth of all routes, as well as the number of connected multi-hop routes which implies the fairness among secondary users.展开更多

A modified algorithm is presented and applied to the layout of IC design. For a given layout plane, first of all, this algorithm generates the corresponding grid group by barriers and nets' ports with the thought ofgridless net routing, establishes initialization fuzzy matrix, then utilizes the global optimization character to find out the best layout route only if it exits.
