Rare earth elements(REEs) are used in a wide range of modern applications. These applications are highly specific and substitutes are inferior or unknown. One possible source of the REE could be the poly-metallic nodule, at present explored in the tropical part of the Pacific Ocean. In developing miners of high performance, dynamic behaviour should be investigated under various traveling conditions. The mechanics of tracked vehicles is of continuing interest to organizations and agencies that specify design and operate tracked vehicles. Most works done are on the complete track vehicle system but in this work the research activity is aimed only at the track system with the basic aim of optimizing the track system design so that it can be manufactured by using the minimum resources. Equations and models are developed for the track system of a miner during steering motion. These equations and models could further be used for design optimization of the track system.展开更多

The results indicate that the contribution of ligand to spin-orbit coupling interaction should be considered for our studied systems. This paper is concerned with the UAV's trajectory planning problem for secrecy energy efficiency maximizatio...Wireless communication with unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs) has aroused great research interest recently. This paper is concerned with the UAV's trajectory planning problem for secrecy energy efficiency maximization(SEEM) in the UAV communication system. Specifically, we jointly consider the secrecy throughput and UAV's energy consumption in a three-node(fixed-wing UAV-aided source, destination, and eavesdropper) wiretap channel. By ignoring the energy consumption on radiation and signal processing, the system's secrecy energy efficiency is defined as the total secrecy rate normalized by the UAV's propulsion energy consumption within a given time horizon. Nonetheless, the SEEM problem is nonconvex and thus is intractable to solve. As a compromise, we propose an iterative algorithm based on sequential convex programming(SCP) and Dinkelbach's method to seek a suboptimal solution for SEEM. The algorithm only needs to solve convex problems, and thus is computationally efficient to implement. Additionally, we prove that the proposed algorithm has Karush-KuhnTucker(KKT) point convergence guarantee. Lastly, simulation results demonstrate the efficacy of our proposed algorithm in improving the secrecy energy efficiency for the UAV communication system.展开更多

Hence, a method for calculating the natural frequencies of track-bridge systems is proposed. The influence of the flexural stiffness of the track-bridge system, the vertical and longitudinal stiffness of the mortar layer,gap position and gap length on the natural frequencies of a track-bridge system is discussed. The results show that the natural frequencies of the track-bridge system are more sensitive to the change of the flexural stiffness of the bridge layer. The change of the longitudinal stiffness of the mortar layer and gap position has no obvious effect on the trackbridge system’s natural frequencies, while the interlayer vertical stiffness has a larger impact. The gap length has a more significant effect on the 4th-5th order natural frequencies of the track-bridge system. The range of the natural frequencies that are affected by the gap widens as the gap length increases.展开更多

The differential settlement will be created in bridge-embankment transition section under such dynamic action, and an adverse effect on the train operation safety can be caused. Meanwhile, differential settlement will produce additional dynamic effect when high-speed trains go through the transition between bridge-embankment. Such dynamic action will aggravate the differential settlement and subgrade damage. This paper applies the methods of field test and finite-element to systematically study the dynamic response characteristics of subgrade in bridge-embankment transition section of heavy haul railway under dynamic load for the first time. This research is focused on the analysis of influence of the different axle load, train speed, filled soil modulus, etc.. At last, the dynamic response rules are systematically summarized.展开更多

Then, aiming at the conditions that large initial estimation errors and non-Gaussian distribution of state or measurement errors may exist in orbit determination process of the two phases, UPF (unscented particle filter) is introduced into the navigation schemes. By tackling nonlinear and non-Gaussian problems, UPF overcomes the accuracy influence brought by the traditional EKF (extended Kalman filter), UKF (unscented Kalman filter), and PF (particle filter) schemes in approximate treatment to nonlinear and non-Gaussian state model and measurement model. The numerical simulations demonstrate the feasibility and higher accuracy of the UPF navigation scheme.展开更多

Under high-level earthquakes,bridge piers and bearings are prone to be damaged and the elastoplastic state of bridge structural components is easily accessible in the train-track-bridge interaction(TTBI)system.Conside...Under high-level earthquakes,bridge piers and bearings are prone to be damaged and the elastoplastic state of bridge structural components is easily accessible in the train-track-bridge interaction(TTBI)system.Considering the complexity and structural non-linearity of the TTBI system under earthquakes,a single software is not adequate for the coupling analysis.Therefore,in this paper,an interactive method for the TTBI system is proposed by combining the multi-body dynamics software Simpack and the seismic simulation software OpenSees based on the Client-Server architecture,which takes full advantages of the powerful wheel-track contact analysis capabilities of Simpack and the sophisticated nonlinear analysis capabilities of OpenSees.Based on the proposed Simpack and OpenSees co-simulating train-track-bridge(SOTTB)method,a single-span bridge analysis under the earthquake was conducted and the accuracy of co-simulation method was verified by comparing it with results of the finite element model.Finally,the TTBI model is built utilizing the SOTTB method to further discuss the running safety of HST on multi-span simply supported bridges under earthquakes.The results show that the SOTTB method has the advantages of usability,high versatility and accuracy which can be further used to study the running safety of HST under earthquakes with high intensities.展开更多

Two different sc...In this paper, we propose a new cellular automata model to simulate the railway traffic at station. Based on NaSch model, the proposed station model is composed of the main track and the siding track. Two different schemes for trains passing through station are considered. One is the scheme of "pass by the main track, start and stop by the siding track". The other is the scheme of "two tracks play the same role". We simulate the train movement using the proposed model and analyze the traffic flow at station. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed cellular automata model can be successfully used for the simulations of railway traffic. Some characteristic behaviors of railway traffic flow can be reproduced. Moreover, the simulation values of the minimum headway are close to the theoretical values. This result demonstrates the dependability and availability of the proposed model.展开更多

In order to explore the influence of soil resistivity on stray current in power supply system of urban rail transit,we establish an equivalent circuit model of the rail-to-ground structure based on resistance network ...In order to explore the influence of soil resistivity on stray current in power supply system of urban rail transit,we establish an equivalent circuit model of the rail-to-ground structure based on resistance network method first.After measuring the soil resistivity of a real subway system,a simulation model is established in Matlab to obtain the stray currents at different soil resistivities.Then the influence of soil resistivity on stray current is analyzed.Afterwards,to verify the rationality and reliability of the simulation model,we design a test circuit to measure the stray current and rail-to-ground voltage in a real subway system,and a comparison of the experimentally measured results and simulation results is presented.The results show that the stray current is the maximum when the soil resistivity is 211.57Ω·m;when the soil resistivity is 768.47Ω·m,the stray current is the minimum,that is,the smaller the soil resistivity,the greater the stray current.Therefore,the resistivity should be increased as much as possible when ramming the track foundation in urban rail transit system.展开更多

As an independent evaluation of the orbit solution, SLR data observed from January 1 to 16, 2002 are processed to compute the residuals after fixing the GFZ’s post science orbits solutions. The SLR residuals are computed as the differences of the SLR measurements minus the corresponding distances between the SLR station and the GPS-derived orbit positions. On the basis of the SLR residuals analysis, it is found that the accuracy of GFZ’s post science orbits is better than 10 cm and that there is no systematic error in GFZ’s post science orbits.展开更多
