The fluctuating components of the torque and speed caused by rotorwinding faults are studied. The models for calculating the fluctuating components are put forward.Simulation and computation results show that the rotor winding faults will cause electromagnetictorque and rotating speed to fluctuate; and fluctuating frequencies are the same and their magnitudewill increase with the rise of the severity of the faults. The load inertia affects the torque andspeed fluctuation, with the increase of inertia, the fluctuation of the torque will rise, while thecorresponding speed fluctuation will obviously decline.展开更多

By the use of ICA, invariable features embedded in multi-channel vibration measurements under different operating conditions (rotating speed and/or load) can be captured together. Thus, stable MLP classifiers insensitive to the variation of operation conditions are constructed. The successful results achieved by selected experiments indicate great potential of ICA in health condition monitoring of rotating machines.展开更多

Therefore, maintenance on condition is used. State-of-the-art is a trend analysis and a fault prediction made only based on sensor signals and stochastic methods. The identification possibilities of this technique are limited. A new concept for model-based monitoring has been developed for more detailed fault identification. The developed concept determines the condition of a machine after the occurrence of a fault. The concept is based on a simulation including various faults and an optimization tool. The development of a cost function and the optimization is one of the challenges of such a concept. Using an AMB rotor system with an auxiliary bearing, the new concept of model-based monitoring is investigated using experiments and the optimization is discussed in this paper.展开更多
