Much attention should be paid to the permeability of broken rocks in goafs for the sake of water preservation in mining and to prevent disasters. Using a special device together with the MTS815.02 Rock Mechanics Test System,we tested the permeability of broken mudstone during its compacting process,and obtained the relations between axial stress and differential seepage pressure and between the pressure gradient and the seepage velocity. The effect of axial stress,grain size,and seepage velocities on the permeability coefficient is analyzed. The results show that 1) permability varies abruptly when the load reaches the compressive strength of rock samples,2) for a constant seepage velocity,the differential seepage pressure and the axial stress can be expressed by an exponential function,3) for a constant axial stress,the pressure gradient and the seepage velocity can be also expressed by an exponential function and 4) the permeability coefficient of broken mudstone of different sizes is closely related to its compaction state and will decrease with the increase of axial stress,expressed as a logarithmic function. 展开更多

Both distillation performance and hydrodynamic study for backmixing by tracer technique were carried out in a high-pressure packed column with 0.15 m inner diameter over a wide range of operating conditions. Isobutane and n-pentane are employed as test mixture in the distillation experiment and air/water is used for the hydrodynamic study. The column is installed with Mellapak 350Y structured packing and the total packing height is 2.0 m. With the increasing operating pressure, the separation efficiency increases slightly while the F-factor corresponding to the maximum efficiency at each pressure is descending. It is noted that, at all operating pressures, with the increase of F-factor, the packing efficiency is slightly higher up to the flooding point. The application of SRP model to high-pressure distillation gives much lower values of HTUOG than those obtained experimentally. An additional term, the height of mixing unit, is introduced to correct the SRP model and improve its accuracy at high pressure. From the tracer experiments, the height of mixing unit for gas phase was found to be larger than that for the liquid phase. From this viewpoint, it is believed that the gas phase backmixing gives more unfavorable influence on the separation efficiency in comparison with liquid phase. 展开更多

Using an MTS816.03 test system and self-designed seepage apparatus, seepage tests of saturated broken rocks were conducted, and the influence of lithology, axial stress, grain size distribution and loading rate on seepage characteristics was analyzed. The results show that: (1) Under the same axial stress (12 MPa), the permeability of different lithologic samples increases in the order: gangue 〈 mudstone 〈 sandstone 〈 limestone. The permeability of gangue is 3 magnitudes lower than that of limestone. The absolute value of the non-Darcy coefficient β increases in the order: limestone 〈 sandstone 〈 mudstone 〈 gangue. The non-Darcy coefficient β of limestone, which is positive, is 5 magnitudes lower than that of gangue. (2) With increasing axial stress, the permeability of saturated broken sandstone decreases, and the absolute value of the non-Darcy coefficient β increases. After the axial stress exceeds 12 MPa, the curves of permeability and non-Darcy coefficient β all tend to be stable. (3) With increasing Talbol power exponent, the permeability increases, and the absolute value of the non-Darcy coefficient β decreases. (4) With increasing loading, the permeability increases, and the absolute value of the non-Darcy coefficient β decreases. When the loading rate is 0.5 kN/s, the non-Darcy coefficient β is positive. 展开更多
