The structure and operation principle commonality of normal TAFA FSM were investigated. Based on the structure and the commonality, the conditions of single-axis idea, high-frequency resonance and coupling were modeled gradually. Combining these models, a holonomic system model was established to reflect and predict the performance of TAFA FSM. A model-based design method was proposed based on the holonomic system model. The design flow and design concept of the method were described. In accordance with the method, a TAFA FSM was designed. Simulations and experiments of the FSM were done, and the results of them were compared. The compared results indicate that the holonomic system model can well reflect and predict the performance of TAFA FSM. The bandwidth of TAFA FSM is more than 250 Hz; adjust time is less than 15 ms;overshoot is less than 8%; position accuracy is better than 10 μrad; the FSM prototype can satisfy the requirements.展开更多

Both the types of shape deviations and their values need to be taken into account in the designing process and play an important role during machine operation. They have a crucial effect on the value and scatter of maximum reduced von Mises stresses and contact stresses. Axisymmetric joints were examined, in which shafts in selected shape variants and in variable angular positions were associated with a non-deformable hole. The aspects of contact zone problems are presented using the example of numerical simulation of contact between an elliptical saddle-shaped shaft placed in a rigid, non-deformable hole in different angular positions. Occurrence of both variable relative stresses and contact stresses as well as shaft's axial shift and rotary movement resistance were demonstrated.展开更多

As grease life is generally shorter than fatigue life of bearing, the service life of grease-lubricated rolling bearings is often dominated by grease life. When designing a bearing systemolecular weightith grease lubrication, it is necessary to define the operating conditions limits of the bearing, for which grease life becomes a determining factor. Prolongation of grease life becomes an especially important challenge when the bearing is to be operated trader high-speed, high-temperature, and other severe conditions. Selecting a number of commercially sold greases composed of varying base oils, the author evaluated their properties and analyzed how each property affected the grease life by performing a multiple regression analysis. The optimum grease composition to best exploit each property was also examined. The results revealed among others that one would need to first determine the base oil type and then maximize ultimate bleeding while minimizing the evaporation rate.展开更多
