The support can be elastic. Loads imposed can be polynomial distributed loads, uniformly distributed radial forces or moments along the edge respectively or their combinations. Convergent solutions can still be obtained by this method under the load whose value is in great excess of normal one. Under the action of the uniformly distributed loads, linear solutions of circular plates with linearly or quadratically variable thickness are compared with those obtained by the parameter method. Buckling of a circular plate with identical thickness beyond critical thrust is compared with those obtained by the power series method.展开更多

However, quaternion interpolation has the advantage of natural (specifically smooth) orientation interpolation without Gimbal Lock. This work presents the application of quatemion interpolation, specifically Spherical Linear IntERPolation (SLERP), to the orientation control of the 6-axis articulated robot (RS2) using LabVIEW and RecurDyn. For the comparison of SLERP with linear Euler interpolation in the view of smooth movement (profile) of joint angles (torques), the two methods are dynamically simulated on RS2 by using both LabVIEW and RecurDyn. Finally, our original work, specifically the implementation of SLERP and linear Euler interpolation on the actual robot, i.e. RS2, is done using LabVIEW motion control tool kit. The SLERP orientation control is shown to be effective in terms of smooth joint motion and torque when compared to a conventional (linear) Euler interpolation.展开更多

Then, the effects of temperature and strain rate on critical damage value were achieved. The results show that the critical damage value is not a constant but changes in a range of 0.021 8-0.378 0.It decreases significantly with the increase of strain rate at a certain temperature. While under a certain strain rate, the critical damage value has little change with the increase of temperature.展开更多

A linear regression method was proposed to establish the thermal error model. Furthermore, two compensation methods were implemented based on the SIEMENS 840D system by using the feed shaft of z direction and telescopic spindle respectively. Experimental results showed that the thermal error could be reduced by 73.79% when using the second compensation method, and the thermal error could be eliminated by using the two compensation methods effectively.展开更多

The axial dispersion coefficient in Ca(Ⅱ)-CS microspheres packed column was found to be almost proportional to the linear velocity and fit for prediction through single breakthrough test. Sensitivity analysis for breakthrough curve indicated the axial dispersion coefficient as well as Langmuir coefficient was sensitive variable for deep removal requirement. The retrieval of the adsorption isotherms of Ca(Ⅱ)-CS microspheres from breakthrough curve was fulfilled by modelling calibration. A strategy based on the correlation between adsorption isotherms and breakthrough performance was further proposed to simplify the column adsorption design using absorbents with small/uniform size and fast adsorption kinetics like Ca(Ⅱ)-CS microspheres to cut down the gap between lab and industry.展开更多

Corresponding calculations were done with using of the dynamic method and based on the climate data set of temperature and salinity for the surface and intermediate layers of the Black Sea. The important role of spring floods on the rivers of the northern-western Black Sea in the development of the water circulation features was shown because this river's water and main Black Sea current interact with the periphery of the western and eastern cyclonic circulation. This process is dominated at the western part sea surface cyclone: in spring and at eastern, in summer and autumn. The flow rate and nature of seasonal migration cyclonic centers were estimated. The results of research are based on a relatively large scale (40' latitude and 60' longitude) averaging and we have identified the main area of water divergence. Small, localized areas of convergence and divergence of flow that are presented in the Black Sea were not included into the scope of our research.展开更多

In this research, effects of airfoil lift and drag on blade power coefficients were investigated by using of wind turbine blade design software, PROPID. Firstly, a wind turbine blade of 2MW class was designed with DU-serics airfoils in the inner part and with aNACA series airfoil as a main airfoil in the outer part. Lift distribution was set to have near L/D maximum at each span station. Then, lift and drag curves were modified to observe effect of L/D variation. Drag and lift change with constant L/D on blade power coefficient was also studied for sensitivity investigation. Each case was optimized with Newtonian iteration incorporated in PROPID. High design lift coefficient results in less chord length and twist angle to maintain same aerodynamic load level. And, power coefficient wasn't improved much with high L/D. During the process, optimal inputs such as lift distribution, design lift and induction factors were suggested. As results, it was found that L/D maximization was important to obtain high efficiency. For the L/D maximization, lift maximization was important to minimize structural weight, but decreasing drag didn't affect the blade shape.展开更多

The plant model is the optimised finite element model of pipeline dynamics considering unsteady laminar friction. A steady-state Kalman filter is built based on the model of pipeline dynamics. Pressure signals at both ends of a target section of a pipe are input to the model of pipeline dynamics, and as an output of the model an estimated pressure signal at a mid-point of the pipe is obtained. Difference between measured and estimated pressure signals at the mid-point is fed back to the model of pipeline dynamics to modify state variables of the model. According to the Kalman filter principle, the state variables of the model are adjusted so that they converge to real values. It is demonstrated that real-time implementation of the Kalman filter is possible with the sampling time of 0.1 ms.展开更多
