It was proposed to recognize the ball carrier’s head pose by classifyi...A new vision-based approach was presented for predicting the behavior of the ball carrier—shooting, passing and dribbling in basketball matches. It was proposed to recognize the ball carrier’s head pose by classifying its yaw angle to determine his vision range and the court situation of the sportsman within his vision range can be further learned. In basketball match videos characterized by cluttered background, fast motion of the sportsmen and low resolution of their head images, and the covariance descriptor, were adopted to fuse multiple visual features of the head region, which can be seen as a point on the Riemannian manifold and then mapped to the tangent space. Then, the classification of head yaw angle was directly completed in this space through the trained multiclass LogitBoost. In order to describe the court situation of all sportsmen within the ball carrier’s vision range, artificial potential field (APF)-based information was introduced. Finally, the behavior of the ball carrier—shooting, passing and dribbling, was predicted using radial basis function (RBF) neural network as the classifier. Experimental results show that the average prediction accuracy of the proposed method can reach 80% on the video recorded in basketball matches, which validates its effectiveness.展开更多

The skirt pile sleeve of the...This paper proposes the finite element simplified fatigue analysis method for fatigue evaluation of the composite non-tubular joint structure of an offshore jacket subjected to wave loads. The skirt pile sleeve of the offshore jacket, which had been in service, was taken as an example of the non-tubular joint structure. SACS software was used for global analysis of multi-directional wave loads for the jacket platform, and ALGOR software was used to build a finite element model, perform finite element analysis, post-process stress results for acquiring the stress range, and perform fatigue evaluation. The analysis results indicate that the extreme stress range is within the allowable stress range and meets the requirements of DNV code. That means the simplified fatigue analysis method is effective and can be used in fatigue design for the non-tubular joint structure of an offshore jacket.展开更多

The major function oriented zoning plays a role in spatial coordination mainly' by spatial guidance and restriction, so. the proposal of major function oriented zoning gives a new train of thought to generate a coordination evaluation of economy-society and the resource-environment system, From the view of major function oriented zoning that considers resource environmental bearing capacity, existing development density and development potential, this paper constructs an index system and model of coordination evahtation with a case study on Pearl River Delta. The results have shown: (I) It can reveal the conflicts of economic-social development and resource-environment quality to ac- curately consider resource environmental bearing capacity, existing development densio~ and development po- tential; (2) The coordination degree between social-economy system and resource-environment system in Pearl River Delta continued to decline in the past 10 years. Electrical conductivity and dielectric properties of bismuth aluminate, Bi12.47Al0.53O19.5 (BAO), were investigated in the frequency range from 1 Hz to 1 MHz in the temperature range from 420 K to 5 K. In the temper...Electrical conductivity and dielectric properties of bismuth aluminate, Bi12.47Al0.53O19.5 (BAO), were investigated in the frequency range from 1 Hz to 1 MHz in the temperature range from 420 K to 5 K. In the temperature range from 360 K to 220 K the real part of the complex ac electrical conductivity and dielectric constant follow the universal dielectric response (UDR), being typical for hopping or tunneling of localized charge carriers. A detailed analysis of the temperature dependence of the UDR parameter s in terms of the theoretical model for tunneling of small polarons revealed that below 360 K this mechanism governs the charge transport in this material. The characteristic parameters for polarons, W∞, ιo, and ι0 were determined.展开更多
