In particular, in the case of laser assisted turning (LAT) process, it is more difficult to estimate the temperature after preheating because it has a shape of ellipse when a laser heat source is rotated. A prediction method and thermal analysis method for heat source shapes were proposed as a square shaped member was preheated. The temperature distribution was calculated according to the rotation of the member. Compared with the results of the former study, the maximum temperature of the calculation results, 1 407.1 ℃, is 8.5 ℃ higher than that of the square member, which is 1 398.6 ℃. In a LAT process for a square member, the maximum temperature is 1 850.8 ℃. It is recognized that a laser power control process is required because square members show a maximum temperature that exceeds a melting temperature at around a vertex of the member according to the rotation.展开更多

Methods: CBMDisc, CNKI, Pubmed databases were searched from January 1995 ...Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of adjuvant chemotherapy in patients with esophageal carcinoma undergoing radical surgery by meta-analysis. Methods: CBMDisc, CNKI, Pubmed databases were searched from January 1995 to June 2005. Randomized trials on comparison surgery plus adjuvant chemotherapy (S + C) and surgery alone for patients with local- ized carcinoma of esophagus were selected. RevMan 4.2 software was used for meta-analysis. Results: 7 studies were in- cluded in the meta-analysis. A total of 401 patients underwent radical surgery plus chemotherapy and 463 underwent surgery alone. Compared with surgery alone, the patients underwent S + C were significantly superior in the 3-year survival rate: the combined relative risk (RRs) of death was 0.83, 95% confidence interval (CI) was 0.71 to 0.95, P = 0.009. Conclusion: Based on the review, adjuvant chemotherapy has a benefit on the 3-year survival rate in the patients with esophageal carcinoma.展开更多

Results: The ECOG ≥ 3 of 103 cases, therapy interval 2-3 weeks, declined 1 score. 28 were performed with chemotherapeutics under nutritional therapy 2-4 periodical. 25 of 26 died were dead for cancer cachexia and multiple organ failure. Survival time was 2-7 months, No serious complications occurred in all patients, Conclusion: The symptom and quality of life of advanced stage of malignant tumor were obviously improve by nutritional therapy. The opportunity for therapy tumor was offered. It is a important method on combined therapy of malignant tumor.展开更多

This algorithm is carried out merely in the domain of code operation. Based on pure code algorithm, it is more efficiency because any figure searching is no longer necessary. The code-series (CS), which are organized from node association table, have the holo-information nature, so that both the content and the sign of each gain-term can be determined via the coded method. The principle of this method is obvious and it is suited for computer programming. Survival after curative surgery is dismal, as recurrences occur either locally or in the liver. Adjuvant treatment with either chemotherapy or chemoradiation (with or without maintenance chemotherapy) has been employed, to improve the poor prognosis. Justification for the use of chemoradiation, with follow on chemotherapy, is based on the results of an underpowered 1987 GITSG study, which closed prematurely and compared intervention to observation. There has been no survival advantage demonstrated in the one randomized controlled trial that examined chemoradiation compared to chemotherapy. There is a clear cut survival advantage however with chemotherapy compared to observation, based on the results from two large randomized controlled trials, and supported by an individual patient data meta-analysis. The standard of care for adjuvant therapy based on level I evidence (from the ESPAC-1 trial) is post operative chemotherapy using 5-Fluorouracil with folinic acid providing a best estimate of 29% five years survival.展开更多

METHODS: Betwe...AIM: To reduce postoperative complications and to make possible an optimal cytoreduction, neoadjuvant chemotherapy(NACT) followed by interval debulking surgery has been applied with encouraging results. METHODS: Between December 2009 and February 2012, patients with stage ⅢC-Ⅳ epithelial ovarian cancer(EOC) underwent diagnostic laparoscopy, to assess the feasibility of optimal debulking surgery. The modifi ed Fagotti score was applied to assess the feasibility of resection with zero residual tumor. Patients who were not candidate for upfront debulking surgery were submitted to NACT, then reassessed according to the RECIST 1.1 criteria and submitted to cytoreductive surgery(CRS) and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy(HIPEC) if they showed clinical response or stable disease. The remaining cycles of adjuvant systemic chemotherapy(ASCT) were administered postoperatively, to complete 6 cycles of systemic chemotherapy.RESULTS: Nine patients were included. Clinical response to NACT was complete in 3 patients and partial in 5 patients; one patient had stable disease. All patients underwent CRS resulting in CC0 disease prior to HIPEC. Average operative time was 510 min. Average intensive care unit stay was 2 d. Average postoperative hospital stay was 25 d. No postoperative mortality was observed. One patient experienced pelvic abscess. One patient refused ASCT. The remaining 8 patients started ASCT. Average time to chemotherapy was 36 d. All patients are alive, with an average follow up of 11 mo. Eight patients are disease-free at follow up.CONCLUSION: HIPEC after CRS for advanced EOC is feasible with acceptable morbidity and mortality. NACT may increase the chance for achieving complete cytoreduction. Phase 3 studies are needed to determine the effects of HIPEC on survival.展开更多

In newtype fiowshop layout, the common machines shared by several flowlines could be located together in functional sections. The approach combines traditional cell formation techniques with sequence alignment algorithms. Firstly, a sequence analysis based cell formation procedure is adopted; then the operation sequences for parts are aligned to maximize machines adjacency in hyperedge representations; finally a tree-shape planar flowline will be obtained for each part family. With the help of a sample of operation sequences obtained from industry, this algorithm is illustrated.展开更多
