A new Web based CAD system is introduced. The users can install the CAD system on the server to build three dimensional models of products through a Web browser in any operation systems. No system installation and system maintenance are required. A new architecture and the database of system are discussed. The UML models of the system are presented. On the premise that numerou...To estimate the geometric characteristics, especially wet areas and section areas, of three dimensional numerical conceptual aircraft models, a method based on surface elements is proposed. On the premise that numerous surface elements are generated to represent each component surface, a component wet area of the surface is estimated by adding up the areas of such elements that are not covered by any other component surfaces. The elements are also used to get the section polygons of such composite surfaces as the whole aircraft at a given body station, then a section area is approximated with the sum of trapezoidal areas between such sides of polygons that are not covered by any other component and a reference axis. Practical application to a computer aided aircraft conceptual design system shows that the methed is applicable to different kinds of conceptual aircraft models and its precision is satisfying to the conceptual design.展开更多
Simulations of photoresist etching,aerial image,exposure,and post-bake processes are integrated to obtain a photolithography process simulation for microelectromechanical system(MEMS) and integrated circuit(IC) fa...Simulations of photoresist etching,aerial image,exposure,and post-bake processes are integrated to obtain a photolithography process simulation for microelectromechanical system(MEMS) and integrated circuit(IC) fabrication based on three-dimensional (3D) cellular automata(CA). The simulation results agree well with available experimental results. This indicates that the 3D dynamic CA model for the photoresist etching simulation and the 3D CA model for the post-bake simulation could be useful for the monolithic simulation of various lithography processes. This is determined to be useful for the device-sized fabrication process simulation of IC and MEMS.展开更多

Some general design algorithms for developing feature based design system are also addressed.The proposed scheme provides a formal methodology elementary for feature based design system development and operation in a structural way.展开更多

Computer aided modeling techniques could provide requisite information for follow up designing segments such as structural analysis, design of technological process and manufacturing etc, and thereby lead to the reduction of product design period and the quality and reliability improvement of ICE components. So the developing situations of ICE components' 2 D drafting, 3 D modeling of ICE, overall CAD of ICE as well as component design expert system etc. are surveyed, which are the typical applications of computer aided modeling techniques in ICE component design process, and some existent problems and tasks are pointed out so as to make some references for the further research work.展开更多

A new method based on the design model is raised to detect the collision and pre-check the interference during NC milling machining. A special problem about the construction of a cutter′s swept volume, self-intersection is discussed. All the work on the construction, the subtraction and the display of solids is accomplished with the help of ACIS 3-D modeling.展开更多
A new partitioning methodology is presented to accelerate 130nm and beyond large scale alternating phase shift mask(Alt PSM) design flow.This method deals with granularity self adaptively.Phas...A new partitioning methodology is presented to accelerate 130nm and beyond large scale alternating phase shift mask(Alt PSM) design flow.This method deals with granularity self adaptively.Phase conflicts resolution approaches are described and strategies guaranteeing phase compatible during layout compaction are also discussed.An efficient CAD prototype for dark field Alt PSM based on these algorithms is implemented.The experimental results on several industry layouts show that the tool can successfully cope with the rapid growth of phase conflicts with good quality and satisfy lower resource consumption with different requirements of precision and speedup.展开更多

A new problem solving strategy and methodologies to implement cooperative design are proposed. Finally, a conceptual model of a blackboard system for accomplishing conceptual design automation is presented.
