Objective: A novel portable and intelligent fluid resuscitation infuser is proposed in this paper. It satisfies the demands of long time use in harsh environment, such as traffic accident, natural disaster, battlefield, evacuation, pre-hospital emergency and so on. Methods: Miniature linear motor and liquid blood cartridge compose the pump body. It's based on the biological impedance method to measure and control, which resolve the disadvantage of traditional infuser device: large power dissipation, big size, AC power supply only and can't be use in field. The whole device weights 250 gram and sizes as two mobile phone together Results: Model device experiment shows: six number 7 standard AAA size alkaline batteries will run the pump for approximately 8-10 h at 6 liters per hour; IV bag can be placed at any position of patient, even under the stretcher. Conclusion: It provides accurate and reliable intravenous infusion for fwst-aid treatment in field. 展开更多

We adopted an object-oriented approach, dealing with software engineering, information engineering, economic and organizational measures. To eliminate the load weight limit of carrier rockets and reduce the burden on support structures,in-orbit assembly is a key technology to make design of scattering a large diameter telescope into submirror modules,which requires smooth operation of assembly robots,and flexible force control technology is necessary. A ground demonstration system is presented for in-orbit assembly focusing on flexible force control. A six-dimensional force/torque sensor and its data acquisition system are used to compensate for gravity. For translation and rotation,an algorithm for flexible control is proposed. A ground transportation demonstration verifies accuracy and smoothness of flexible force control,and the transportation and assembly task is completed automatically. The proposed system is suitable for the development of in-orbit assembly robots. 展开更多

A new transportation technology known as personal rapid transit (PRT) is being developed by multiple different companies around the world, and one system is under commercial operations in the United Kingdom. Each design is different, but they all share a need to operate many automated transit vehicles at very close headways. Safe operation will require a level of control an order of magnitude above any current transit system. As a result, new techniques will be needed for the development and testing of the mechanical and control systems. In this paper an apparatus for developing and testing a PRT vehicle control scheme is demonstrated. This system is composed of independent modules that represent virtual vehicles, a central control system, a man-machine interface and a monitoring device. It can be used to implement and to evaluate the designed vehicle control algorithm. The vehicle control algorithm is designed and simulated in a combined simulation platform that consists of Matlab/Simulink and Labview Simulation Interface Toolkit. Simple operational scenarios are proposed for the testing of the proposed vehicle control apparatus. 展开更多

The failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA) is widely applied in manufacturing industries in various phases of the product life cycle to evaluate the system, its design and processes for failures that can occur. The FMEA team often demonstrates different opinions and these different types of opinions are very difficult to incorporate into the FMEA by the traditional risk priority number model. In this paper, for each of the Occurrence, Severity and Detectivity parameters a fuzzy set is defined and the opinion of each FMEA team members is considered. These opinions are considered simultaneously with weights that are given to each individual based on their skills and experience levels. In addition, the opinion of the costumer is considered for each of the FMEA parameters. Then, the Risk Priority Numbers (RPN) is calculated using a Multi Input Single Output (MISO) fuzzy expert system. The proposed model is applied for prioritizing the failures of Peugeot 206 Engine assembly line in IKCo (Iran Khodro Company). 展开更多

Power interconnections are becoming increasingly important in various parts of the world, as incentives for power exchange between countries are growing. A current example is that the Baltic Energy Market Interconnection Plan is launched by the European Council. For a variety of reasons, it is desirable to keep transmission corridors as slender as possible, i.e. keeping the number of lines as limited as possible, while still keeping adequate stability and power transmission capacity over the corridor. This is true, no matter whether it concerns a green-field project, or if it is a question of expanding an existing transmission corridor into higher power transmission capability. To achieve this, FACTS (flexible AC transmission systems), based on state of the art high power electronics, is a highly useful option, from technical, economical and environmental points of view, to increase the utilization and stability of a transmission system or intertie. The paper presents salient design features as well as benefits of recently installed FACTS devices, more specifically SVC (static var compensators) and series capacitors, for enabling or improving cross-border as well as interregional power transfer in a cost-effective and environmentally friendly way. 展开更多

This paper deals with power transfer capability enhancement using two common Flexible Alternating Current Transmission Systems (FACTS) devices, Thyristor Controlled Series Capacitor (TCSC) and Static Var Compensator (SVC). For this purpose, at first the optimal place of TCSC and SVC is investigated and the optimal size is determined. At the end, a comparison is made between the two FACTS devices. For calculating Available Transfer Capability (ATC), Repeated Power-Flow (RPF) rule used, and the network limitations such as voltage, stability, thermal capacity, and power generation limits are taken into consideration. The proposed algorithm is run on a sample network. Results show effectiveness of TCSC in situations where the thermal limit is the dominant limitation of the network. In such situations, SVC is almost useless. It was also seen that under conditions of voltage limitations, both elements are helpful for the enhancement of ATC. 展开更多

Based on specific host-guest interactions between amine-modified [3-cyclodextrin (CD-TAEA) and functional adamantane (AD) derivatives, a module-template strategy has been proposed for the construction of low-molecular-weight cationic assem- blies for gene transport. This strategy offers great flexibility in terms of the introduction of mono- or multi-functionality by the inclusion of one or more adamantane-based modules with the desired functionalities. As proof of concept, phenylboronic acid (PB) containing adamantane (PB-AD) was used as a model module in the hope of offering enhanced cytosolic delivery in con- sideration of the special affinity of PB groups with cell membranes. The physicochemical properties of the complexes formed with plasmid DNA, such as particle size, zeta potential and morphology were investigated. Confocal laser scanning microsco- py and flow cytometry experiments demonstrated the important contribution of the functional PB-AD module to the consider- ably enhanced intracellular internalization and uptake by cellular nuclei. Compared to the parent CD-TAEA, PB-AD/CD- TAEA assemblies mediated higher transfection rates, which were even comparable to that of PEI25K. In addition, PB-AD/CD- TAEA displayed much lower cytotoxicity than PEI25K in both 293T and HeLa cell lines. The encouraging results suggest that CD-TAEA can be developed as a powerful template capable of readily accommodating various AD-based modules giving versatile functionalities for improved transfection. 展开更多

This paper presents a novel approach to find optimum locations and capacity of flexible alternating current transmission system (FACTS) devices in a power system using a multi-objective optimization function. Thyristor controlled series compensators (TCSCs) and static var compensators (SVCs) are the utilized FACTS devices. Our objectives are active power loss reduction, newly introduced FACTS devices cost reduction, voltage deviation reduction, and increase on the robustness of the security margin against voltage collapse. The operational and controlling constraints, as well as load constraints, were considered in the optimum allocation. A goal attainment method based on the genetic algorithm (GA) was used to approach the global optimum. The estimated annual load profile was utilized in a sequential quadratic programming (SQP) optimization sub-problem to the optimum siting and sizing of FACTS devices. Fars Regional Electric Network was selected as a practical system to validate the performance and effectiveness of the proposed method. The entire investment of the FACTS devices was paid off and an additional 2.4% savings was made. The cost reduction of peak point power generation implies that power plant expansion can be postponed. 展开更多

Modeling of highly efficient drug delivery system induced by self-assembly of nanocarriers: A density functional study

Owing to the importance of drug delivery in cancer or other diseases' therapy, the targeted drug delivery (TDD) system has been attracting enormous interest. Herein, we model the TDD system and design a novel rod-like nanocarrier by using the coarse grained model-based density functional theory, which combines a modified fundamental measure theory for the excluded-volume effects, Wertheim's first-order thermodynamics perturbation theory for the chain connectivity and the mean field approximation for van der Waals attraction. For comparison, the monomer nanocarrier TDD system and the no nanocarrier one are also investigated. The results indicate that the drug delivery capacity of rod-like nanocarriers is about 62 times that of the no nanocarrier one, and about 6 times that of the monomer nanocarriers. The reason is that the rod-like nanocarriers would self-assemble into the smectic phase perpendicular to the membrane surface. It is the self-assembly of the rod-like nanocarriers that yields the driving force for the targeted delivery of drugs inside the cell membrane. By contrast, the conventional monomer nanocarrier drug delivery system lacks the driving force to deliver the drugs into the cell membrane. In short, the novel rod-like nanocarrier TDD system may improve the drug delivery efficiency. Although the model in this work is simple, it is expected that the system may provide a new perspective for cancer targeted therapy. 展开更多
