Locating the mineral processing plant near a mine is the most important parameter that affects the whole process.Many factors,and their preferences,should be considered in this stage.The factors include economical,geo...Locating the mineral processing plant near a mine is the most important parameter that affects the whole process.Many factors,and their preferences,should be considered in this stage.The factors include economical,geological,technical,environmental and tectonic parameters.A multi-criteria decision making method is necessary to rank the alternatives.In this paper we describe how plant location is selected by using the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP).This method,with eight criteria,was used to select a location for the mineral processing plant at the Sangan iron ore mine(phase 1).Three alternatives for the processing plant were evaluated.The main criteria were distance from the mine,access to heavy machinery transport,the amount of excavation required for grading,bed mixture capacity,belt conveyor length,distance from the tailing dam,distance from the waste dumps and surface water diversion requirements.Finally,the alternatives were ranked and the best location was proposed.展开更多
To show the distribution of a temperature field on a steel disk and to prolong the service life of a friction pair in a Hy-dro-Viscous Drive (HVD) device, a theoretical model of a transient temperature field was estab...To show the distribution of a temperature field on a steel disk and to prolong the service life of a friction pair in a Hy-dro-Viscous Drive (HVD) device, a theoretical model of a transient temperature field was established, based on the theory of heat conduction. This theoretical model was solved using a finite element method. The results show that the surface temperature of the steel disk does not increase consistently as a function of the radius; the highest temperature appears short of the maximum radius. The relationship between the surface temperature and the mixed friction time is exponential. With a friction time of 15 s, the tem-perature reached 465.9 °C. Simultaneously, the internal thermal stress is larger than the yield stress of the material, causing a warping deformation of the steel disk. The largest axial deformation is 0.32 mm. The results of the experiment suggest that the de-formation is the same as that obtained from numerical simulation. Therefore, deformation of the steel disk must be considered dur-ing the study of the characteristics of a HVD.展开更多

This paper analyzes and determines systemnatural frequencies based on a modeling method of receptances with the analysis of sub-systems model and of theprinciple of their addition and conveyor loop closure. It also puts forward to calculate the time interval for switching off electric resistances. The starting of one conveyor is simulated by lumped-mass-spring-model software tofurther illustrate the influence of time interval for switching off electric resistances on conveyor dynamic behavior. The magnetic field distribution in the working gap was analyzed and the current-speed relationship was investigated. A mathematical model for the time response was deduced. The results show that a linear relationship between current and magnetic field is seen when the magnetic materials are not saturated and the magnetic field is uniform in the working section. The rotation speed of the driven shaft changes linearly with increasing time. The response is rapid and can be as short as milliseconds. This meets the starting requirements of belt conveyors.展开更多

Therefore, Visual Basic 6.0 programming technology was used to develop a set of 'the design system of the band conveyer driven bylinear friction.' After being proved in the field, it can completely meet the demands of thedesign. The air cushion field is analyzed by means of theoretical derivation, numerical simulation and experimental research. An intelligent experiment platform is developed. Three dimensional pressure distribution of air film and the air film thickness distribution along the conveyor belt in the width direction are obtained. The experimental result is analyzed by comparing with theoretical calculation and numerical simulation. The numerical and theoretical results are in good agreement with those obtained from experiments. The air film formation behavior pattern of air cushion belt conveyor with stable load is presented. The optimized film thickness and pore distribution are obtained based on the comprehensive energy consumption. This study provides a basis for the optimization design of air cushion belt conveyor.展开更多
