The flotation behavior and adsorption mechanism of novel(1-hydroxy-2-methyl-2-octenyl) phosphonic acid(HEPA) to cassiterite were investigated by micro-flotation tests, zeta potential measurements, FTIR determination and density functional theory(DFT) calculation. The flotation results demonstrated that HEPA exhibited superior collecting performance compared with styrene phosphonic acid(SPA). The cassiterite recovery maintained above 90% over a wide pH range of 2-9 with 50 mg/L HEPA. The results of zeta potential measurement and FTIR detection indicated that the adsorption of HEPA onto cassiterite was mainly attributed to the chemisorption between HEPA monoanions and Sn species on mineral surfaces. The DFT calculation results demonstrated that HEPA monoanions owned higher HOMO energy and exhibited a better affinity to cassiterite than SPA, which provided very clear evidence for the stronger collecting power of HEPA presented in floatation test and zeta potential measurement. 展开更多

Zinc-modified Pt/SAPO-11 catalysts were prepared by incipient wetness impregnation and assessed in the hydroisomerization of n-octane.Their physicochemical properties were investigated using powder X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy,nitrogen adsorption-desorption,pyridine-adsorbed infrared spectroscopy,temperature-programmed desorption of NH3,temperature-programmed reduction of hydrogen,temperature-programmed desorption of hydrogen,transmission electron microscopy,and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy.The addition of zinc resulted in high dispersion of platinum.Zinc acted as a competitive adsorbent,changed the location of platinum.The catalyst with a zinc loading of 0.5%gave the highest selectivity to dimethylhexanes,but the conversion was lower than those achieved with the other catalysts.Dimethylhexanes have large molecular diameters,and therefore their diffusion may be difficult.This weakens the catalytic activity of the zinc-modified catalysts and lowers the n-octane conversion. 展开更多

Theadsorption mechanism of octanol and BHA on the surface of cassiterite was analyzed by adsorption experiments and infrared spectraanalysis. Micro-flotation results indicated that single octanol exhibited almost no collecting power to cassiterite over a wide pHrange. However, as an auxiliary collector, octanol could markedly decrease the consumption of collector BHA and keep the recoveryof cassiterite in high level. The results of adsorption experiments and infrared spectra demonstrated that single octanol was notadsorbed on the surface of cassiterite. It formed adsorption connected with BHA on the surface of cassiterite, and enhanced thehydrophobicity of cassiterite. Octanol promoted the adsorption amount of BHA on the cassiterite surface, and decreased theconsumption of BHA. 展开更多

Solubility data of carbon dioxide (CO2) (1) in methanol (2), 1-octyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoro- methylsulfonyl)imide ([omim]+[TfzN]-) (3), and their mixtures (w3 = 0.2, 0.5, and 0.8) at temperatures 313.2 and 333.2 K and pressures up to 7.0 MPa were measured by a high-pressure view-cell technique. The solubility of CO2 in methanol (w3 = 0), [omim]+[Tf2N]- (w3 = 1.0) and their mixtures follows the order of (w3 = 0)〈(w3 = 0.2)〈 (w3 = 0.5)〈(w3 = 0.8)〈(w3 = 1.0) at the same temperature and pressure, while the magnitude of Henry's constants follows the reverse order at a given temperature, which is consistent with the COSMO-RS (conductor-like screen- ing for real solvents) calculation. The solubility data of CO2 in methanol and [omim]~[Tf2N]- are correlated with the Peng-Robinson equation of state, and the solubility of CO2 in the mixtures of methanol and [omim]+[TfzN] can be well predicted based on the mole fraction average of methanol and [omim]+[Tf2N] over the solubility of CO2 in pure methanol and [omim]+[Tf2N] . The mixtures of methanol and [omim]+[Tf2N]- may be used as physical solvents for capturing CO2 with high partial pressures since they combine the advantages of organic solvents and ionic liquids. 展开更多

The solid-liquid equilibrium of benzoic acid derivatives in 1-octanol was first determined in this article. Using a laser monitoring observation technique, the solubility data of o-amino-benzoic acid, p-amino-benzoic acid,o-chloro-benzoic acid, and m-nitro-benzoic acid in 1-octanol were measured by the polythermal method in the temperature range of 20-50℃. The experimental data were regressed with the. Wilson equation and the λH equation. The experimental results showed that the solubility of the four chemicals in 1-octanol increased significantly with temperature. The results indicate that the molecular structure and interactions affect the solubility significantly.The solubility order of the benzoic acid derivatives is as follows: m-nitro-benzoic acid〉o-chloro-benzoic acid〉 o-amino-benzoic acid〉p-amino-benzoic acid. Both the Wilson equation and λH equation are in good agreement with the experimental data. 展开更多

Di-octyl phthalate(DOP) is widely used as a plasticizer in the plastics industry.As a result,DOP is often found in marine water ecosystems where many species are exposed to it.Our objective was to evaluate the effect of long-term(14 d) DOP exposure(2.6,7.8,or 31.2 mg/L) on the expression of immunerelated genes in Tegillarca granosa.The expression of small heat shock protein(sHSPs) and tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase(TIMP) were highest in clams exposed to 31.2 mg/L DOP on days 7 and 14.The relative expression of Tg-ferritin,superoxide dismutase(SOD),and metallothionein(MT) increased initially then decreased as the concentration of DOP increased.The hemoglobin of T.granosa(Tg-Hb I) exhibited two distinct expression patterns at two time points.Our results suggest that the immune response of T.granosa against DOP pollution varies depending on the dose.Additionally,we identified some immune-related genes that are promising candidates for biomarkers of DOP. 展开更多

To explore the feasibility of extracting aromatic acid products from oxidizing coal, two aromatic acids, trimellitic and [1,1′-biphenyl]-2,2′-dicarboxylic acid, were selected as the solutes, and the extraction equilibrium of the acids were studied with 1-octanol, 50% tributyl phosphate (TBP) in kerosene, and 10% trialkylphosphine oxide (TRPO) in kerosene. The results showed that the degree of extraction of [1,1′-biphenyl]-2,2′-dicarboxylic acid was larger than that of trimellitic acid for all of the solvent, and the extraction capacity with TRPO is more effective than the one with TBP. The extraction behavior of aromatic polyacid is different from that of carboxylic acid, and the reactive extraction function of aromatic acids with TBP and TRPO is not as effective as that of carboxylic acid. 1-octanol could be used to remove [1,1′-biphenyl]-2,2′-dicarboxylic acid from the mixture of trimellitic acid and [1,1′-biphenyl]-2,2′-dicarboxylic acid. Because the weak hydrogen bond association exists between -OH in 1-octanol and -COOH in aromatic acid, the extractive selectivity of [ 1, 1′-biphenyl]-2,2′-dicarboxylic to trimellitic acid depends on the stoichiometric ratio. 展开更多

Objective:In order that the adhesive character could be improved to modify the octyl-α-cyanoacrylate(OCA) medical adhesive.Methods:Suitable modifiers involving polycaprolactone(PCL),dibutyl phthalate (DBP),dioctyl phthalate(DOP) and poly octyl methacrylat(POMA) have been chosen to modify the OCA adhesive,then tensile shear strength and adhesive strength are tested to evaluate the bond character of adhesives.Results:The PCL group's tensile shear strength and adhesive strength in normal temperature are descended while the other groups'are all enhanced.Conclusion:The modification of properties of the other groups is effectively promoted in the aspect of the bond character,except the PCL group treated in normal temperature and the PCL modified group treated by rectification get a best improvement in the agglutinate intention, while the stability is expected to be improved. 展开更多

Coated wire sensor for potentiometric determination ofDAP (dapoxetine HCI) in pure form and in biological fluidsbased on DAP-TPB (dapoxetine-tetraphenyl borate) as the sensing element in the presence of DOP (dioctylphthalate) as the plasticizing solvent mediator was prepared. The best performance was obtained with a membrane composition of 10.0% (w/w) ion-pair, 45.0% DOP (w/w) and 45.0% PVC (w/w). The electrode showed a Nemstian response (with a slope of 58.70 mV decade-1) for the concentration range of 4.2 × 10-5-1.0 ×10-2 mol/L. It illustrates a relatively fast response time in the whole concentration range (-15 s) in a pH range of 3.0-7.5. The selectivity coefficients were determined in relation to several inorganic and organic species. DAP is determined successfully in pure solutions and in biological fuids using the standard additions and petentiometric titrations methods. 展开更多

Simvastatin,a 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A reductase inhibitor,is widely prescribed to patients with hypercholesteremia and its muscular toxicity has been widely reported.The metabolism of simvastatin depends on the enzymic activity of cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) and inhibitors of CYP3A4 can result in clinical events by interacting with simvastatin.Diltiazem is a moderate inhibitor of CYP3A4,which is known to increase the serum concentration of simvastatin.Here we report a patient with unrecognized hypothyroidism who had been stable for more than one year on low-dose simvastatin therapy of hypercholesteremia and rhabdomyolysis occurred with the addition of diltiazem.This is one of scanty reports of rhabdomyolysis induced by simvastatindiltiazem drug interaction,especially in hypothyroid patient.This case reminds the clinicians that although diltiazem as a moderate CYP3A4 inhibitor can be used cautiously with small doses of CYP3A4-dependent statius (eg,simvastatin),these two commonly used drugs should be avoided in hypothyroid patient. 展开更多

To investigate the effects of environmental factors on PAEs in soils, pollut... Phthalate esters (PAEs), which can disturb human endocrine system, have been widely detected in vegetable greenhouse agriculture in China. To investigate the effects of environmental factors on PAEs in soils, pollution sources were identified, and the cumulative risks of PAEs to humans through vegetables in the diet were evaluated in this study. Ninety-eight vegetable samples were collected from 10 markets along with 128 vegetable and 111 soil samples from agricultural greenhouses and open field. All soil and vegetable samples were contaminated with PAEs, and the total concentrations of the 5 PAEs, including dimethyl phthalate (DMP), diethyl phthalate (DEP), di-iso-butyl phthalate (DiBP), di-n-butyl phthalate (DnBP), and di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP), were in the ranges of 0.26-2.53 mg kg-1 for soils and 0.95-8.09 mg kg-1 for vegetables. Three components extracted from principle component analysis could explain 51.2%, 19.8%, and 15.3% of the total variance of the 5 PAEs in soils, which may represent three major sources of PAEs, i.e., wastewater irrigation, application of fertilizers and pesticides, and plastic film. Long-term greenhouse cultivation could accumulate DEHP in soils, and a higher soil FeOx content reduced the DnBP concentration. Based on a survey of vegetables in the diet, the hazard index of PAEs was 〈 0.15 for individuals in different cities. The exposure of PAEs through vegetable intake was higher than the total exposure from other food stuffS, inhalation, and dermal absorption.
