However, this assumption is not always satisfied in practice. We propose a novel method to determine the anisotropy of geophysical parameters. In the proposed method, the variograms are first normalized in all directions. Then, the normalized samples are fitted by the unit range variation increment(URVI) function to estimate the intensities of the variograms in each direction, from which the anisotropy can be finally determined. The performance of the proposed method is validated using InSAR atmospheric delay measurements over the Shanghai region. The results show that the deviation of the method is 6.4%, and that of the geometric anisotropy-based method is 21.2%. In addition, the computational efficiency of the new method is much higher. Subsequently, the URVI- and the geometric anisotropy-based methods are cross-validated in the cross-validation experiments by using Kriging interpolation. The results demonstrate that the structure functions generated with the proposed method are more accurate and can better refl ect the spatial characteristics of the random fi eld. Therefore, the proposed method, which is more accurate and effi cient to determine the anisotropy than the conventional geometry anisotropy-based method, provides a better foundation to estimate the geophysical parameters of interest.展开更多

Such event evolved into a highly mobile and sudden debris flow, damaging some hydraulic works and putting at high risk four villages located along the creek banks. A monitoring campaign was carried out by means of a ground based radar interferometer (GB-InSAR) to evaluate any residual displacement risk in the affected area and in the undisturbed neighbouring materials. Moreover, starting from the current slope condition, a landslide runout numerical modelling was performed by means of DAN-3D code to assess the impacted areas, flow velocity, and deposit distribution of the simulated events. The rheological parameters necessary for an accurate modelling were obtained through the back analysis of the 2010 debris flow event. Back analysis was calibrated with all of the available terrain data coming from field surveys and ancillary documents, such as topographic, geomorphological and geological maps, with pre- and post-event LiDAR derived DTMs, and with orthophotos. Finally, to identify new possible future debris flow source areas as input data for the new modelling, all the obtained terrain data were reanalysed and integrated with the GB-InSAR displacement maps; consequently, new simulations were made to forecast future events. The results show that the integration of the selected modelling technique with ancillary data and radar displacement maps can be a very useful tool for managing problems related to debris flow events in the examined area.展开更多

In this paper, external DEMs are used for InSAR DEM generation to reduce the errors in data processing. The DEMs generated from repeat-pass InSAR are compared. For steep slopes and severe changes in topography, phase unwrapping quality can be improved by subtracting the phase calculated from an external DEM. It is affirmative that the absolute height accuracy of the InSAR DEM is improved by using external DEM. The data processing was undertaken without the use of ground control points and other manual operation.展开更多

Immunohistochemistry method was used to evaluate the expression of IP-10 in the pancreas of NOD mice and BALB/c mice. Immunoelectron microscope was used to show the location of IP-10 in pancreatic islet β cells.RESULTS: Pancreatic islets were positively stained in all the NOD mice. Insulitis could be found in mice at the age of 4 wk. The weakly positive results were found in control group with no insulitis. Immunoelectron microscopy further demonstrated that IP-10 was produced by pancreatic β cells and stored in cytoplasm of the cells.CONCLUSION: IP-10 can be largely produced in pancreatic islets of NOD mice at the age of 2 wk when there is no significant insulitis, and may play an important part in the pathogenesis of type 1 diabetes by attracting immune cells to infiltrate the pancreatic islets.展开更多
