The method is based on the primary idea that pavement roughness is denoted as the sum of numerous sines or cosines with stochastic phases, and uses the discrete spectrum to approach the target stochastic process. It is a discrete numerical method used to simulate pavement roughness. According to a given pavement power spectral density (PSD) coefficient, under the condition that the character of displacement frequency based on the time domain model is in accordance with the given pavement surface spectrum, the pavement roughness is optimized to stochastic equivalent vibrations by computer simulation, and the curves that describe pavement roughness under each grade are obtained. The results show that the stochastic sinusoidal wave is suitable for simulation of measured pavement surface spectra based on the time domain model. The method of the stochastic sinusoidal wave is important to the research on vehicle ride comfort due to its rigorous mathematical derivation, extensive application range and intuitive simulation curve. Finally, a roughness index defined as the nominal roughness index (NRI) is introduced, and it has correlation with the PSD coefficient.展开更多

The combination of such components can give rise to signals, which have periodically time-varying ensemble statistical and are best considered as cyclostationary. When the early fault occurs, the background noise is very heavy, it is difficult to disclose the latent periodic components successfully using cyclostationary analysis alone. In this paper the degree of cyclostationarity is combined with wavelet filtering for detection of rolling element bearing early faults. Using the proposed entropy minimization rule. The parameters of the wavelet filter are optimized. This method is shown to be effective in detecting rolling element bearing early fault when cyclostationary analysis by itself fails.展开更多

Various approaches have been proposed, mainly due to the substantially increased trading activities of volatility-related derivatives in the past few years. In this note, the authors develop analytical method for pricing variance swaps under stochastic volatility with an Ornstein-Uhlenbeck(OU) process. By using Fourier transform algorithm, a closed-form solution for pricing variance swaps with stochastic volatility is obtained, and to give a comparison of fair strike value based on the discrete model, continuous model, and the Monte Carlo simulations.展开更多

Based on the presented model, the bonding mechanism is simulated and analyzed, different detonation modes are also comparatively studied to indicate the driving force spread in few microseconds. The results show that the three layer plates bond together after many times of impact between the flyers and the base driven by detonation wave, which is damping rapidly at each impact with wavelength decreasing. The pressure at the detonation point is minimal, which induces non-bonding of the plates here. Detonation wave propagates in concentric circle both under side-midpoint detonation mode and under center-point detonation mode, but the movement of the flyer is different, which makes non-bonding easily occur at the end of detonation under side-midpoint detonation and at the center of the plate under center-point detonation.展开更多

They are constructed by compound Poisson process and continuum percolation model separately. Combining the two models, the authors get a Levy process for the price fluctuation that can explain the fat-tail phenomenon in stock market. The fat-tails axe also presented in numerical simulations.展开更多
