We introduced some operational laws of unce...We studied multiple attribute decision-making problems with uncertain linguistic information, in which the preference values took the form of uncertain linguistic variables. We introduced some operational laws of uncertain linguistic variables and a formula for the comparison between two uncertain linguistic variables. We proposed two new aggregation operators called extended uncertain linguistic aggregation (EULA) operator and interval linguistic aggregation (ILA) operator, and then develop an EULA operator-based linguistic approach and an ILA operator-based linguistic approach, respectively, to multiple attribute decision making in uncertain linguistic setting. The approaches were straightforward and do not produce any loss of information. Finally, an illustrative example was given to verify the developed approaches and to demonstrate their practicality and effectiveness.展开更多

The relation of transient pulse shape to pulsed laser equivalent LET is tested,the sensitive areas of the SET effects are identified in voltage follower application mode of LM124J, and the mechanism is initially analyzed. The transient amplitude and duration of HCPL5231 at various equivalent LET are examined,and the SET cross-section is measured. The results of our test and heavy ion experimental data coincide closely,indicating that a pulsed laser test facility is a valid tool for single event effect evaluation.展开更多

Every two qubits are perform...We present a scheme for quantum privacy amplification (QPA) for a sequence of single qubits. The QPA procedure uses a unitary operation with two controlled-not gates and a Hadamard gate. Every two qubits are performed with the unitary gate operation, and a measurement is made on one photon and the other one is retained. The retained qubit carries the state information of the discarded one. In this way, the information leakage is reduced. The procedure can be performed repeatedly so that the information leakage is reduced to any arbitrarily low level. With this QPA scheme, the quantum secure direct communication with single qubits can be implemented with arbitrarily high security. We also exploit this scheme to do privacy amplification on the single qubits in quantum information sharing for long-distance communication with quantum repeaters.展开更多

Traditional compression method uses direct entropy coding for each subband. After studying the energy distribution in image subbands, we proposed a vector quantization (VQ) coding algorithm to image subband. In the algorithm, vector quantizers were adaptively designed for high-frequency bands in an image. In particular, the edges of the image were examined and fewer bits were assigned to high-energy regions. The experimental result showed that the algorithm had higher SNR and higher compression ratio than possible by traditional subband coding, JPEG and JPEG 2000.展开更多
This study aimed to identify and characterize the sperm subpopulations existing in water buffalo semen using a computer assisted sperm analyzer (CASA), as well as assess the effects of cryopreservation on the sperm ...This study aimed to identify and characterize the sperm subpopulations existing in water buffalo semen using a computer assisted sperm analyzer (CASA), as well as assess the effects of cryopreservation on the sperm subpopulation structure and evaluate bull variability. The semen of eight Bulgarian Murrah bulls was collected by four times in an interval of one week each. The semen was cryopreserved following a standard protocol and sperm kinematics was assessed. Clustering methods were applied to individual sperms, forming two significantly different (P 〈 0.05) subpopulations (P1 and P2). Subpopulation P1 represents those spermatozoa that moved most rapidly and progressively (46.29%), and subpopulation P2 includes spermatozoa with relatively low velocity or poorly motile but with high progressiveness (53.41%). There was a decline on the population of P1 sperms from fresh (52.52%), pre-freeze (45.73%) to post-thaw (35.17%) stages and significant difference on the sperm kinematics between P1 and P2. A significant decline in the values of distance, velocity and amplitude of lateral head (ALH) parameters were observed at post-thaw stage, while an increase was observed on trajectory and beat cross frequency (BCF) kinematics. Values of sperm kinematics were also significantly different (P 〈 0.05) among all bulls. The frequency distribution of spermatozoa on both subpopulations P1 and P2 was quite similar for all bulls in pre-freeze and post-thaw stages, but with significant (P 〈 0.05) variability on fresh stage. Bulls with the highest maintained frequency of P1 sperms are denoted as good freezer bulls. In sum, kinematic characterization of water buffalo sperm and clustering into subpopulation enable to identify bulls that are more resistant to cryopreservation and production of quality semen for genetic propagation.展开更多
Four-dimensional trajectory based operation(4D-TBO)is believed to enhance the planning and execution of efficient flights,reduce potential conflicts and resolve upcoming tremendous flight demand.Most of the 4D traject...Four-dimensional trajectory based operation(4D-TBO)is believed to enhance the planning and execution of efficient flights,reduce potential conflicts and resolve upcoming tremendous flight demand.Most of the 4D trajectory planning related studies have focused on manned aircraft instead of unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs).This paper focuses on planning conflict-free 4D trajectories for fixed-wing UAVs before the departure or during the flight planning.A 4D trajectory generation technique based on Tau theory is developed,which can incorporate the time constraints over the waypoint sequence in the flight plan.Then the 4D trajectory is optimized by the particle swarm optimization(PSO)algorithm.Further simulations are performed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method,which would offer a good chance for integrating UAV into civil airspace in the future.展开更多
