For its complexity, engineering construction schedule design is limited by various factors.Simulation-based engineering construction schedule takes critical path method (CPM) network as frame and calls complex cyclic operation network (CYCLONE) simulation model enclosed in advance for its simulation nodes. CYCLONE simulation model takes charge of simulating stochastic duration of activity and efficiency of resources, while CPM model performs project scheduling. This combination avoids the shortcomings of both models. Furthermore, geographic information system (GIS) technique is utilized to visualize the construction processes which are otherwise difficult to be understood by static results described. A novel iterative technique, the phase descent search detection was proposed. This technique constrained the solution (PDS) algorithm, for M-ary phase shift keying (M-PSK) symbols to have a unit magnitude and it was based on coordinate descent iterations where coordinates were the unknown symbol phases. The PDS algorithm, together with a descent local search (also implemented as a version of the PDS algorithm), was used multiple times with different initializations in a proposed multiple phase detector; the solution with the minimum cost was then chosen as the final solution. The simulation results show that for highly loaded multiuser scenarios, the proposed technique has a detection performance that is close to the single-user bound. The results also show that the multiple phase detector allows detection in highly overloaded scenarios and it exhibits near-far resistance. In particular, the detector has a performance that is significantly better, and complexity that is significantly lower, than that of the detector based on semi-definite relaxation. 展开更多

In mine ventilation networks, the reasonable airflow distribution is very important for the production safety and economy. Three basic problems of the natural, full-controlled and semi-controlled splitting were reviewed in the paper. Aiming at the high difficulty semi-controlled splitting problem, the general nonlinear multi-objectives optimization mathematical model with constraints was established based on the theory of mine ventilation networks. A new algorithm, which combined the improved differential evaluation and the critical path method (CPM) based on the multivariable separate solution strategy, was put forward to search for the global optimal solution more efficiently. In each step of evolution, the feasible solutions of air quantity distribution are firstly produced by the improved differential evolu- tion algorithm, and then the optimal solutions of regulator pressure drop are obtained by the CPM. Through finite steps iterations, the optimal solution can be given. In this new algorithm, the population of feasible solutions were sorted and grouped for enhancing the global search ability and the individuals in general group were randomly initialized for keeping diversity. Meanwhile, the individual neighbor- hood in the fine group which may be closely to the optimal solutions were searched locally and slightly for achieving a balance between global searching and local searching, thus improving the convergence rate. The computer program was developed based on this method. Finally, the two ventilation networks with single-fan and multi-fans were solved. The results show that this algorithm has advantages of high effectiveness, fast convergence, good robustness and flexibility. This computer program could be used to solve lar^e-scale ~eneralized ventilation networks o^timization problem in the future. 展开更多

Genomic clustering of non-homologous genes for the biosynthesis of plant defensive compounds is an emerging theme, but insights into their formation and physiological function remain limited. Here we report the identification of a newly discovered hydroxycinnamoyl tyramine(HT) gene cluster in rice.This cluster contains a pyridoxamine 50-phosphate oxidase(Os PDX3) producing the cofactor pyridoxal50-phosphate(PLP), a PLP-dependent tyrosine decarboxylase(Os Ty DC1), and two duplicated hydroxycinnamoyl transferases(Os THT1 and Os THT2). These members were combined to represent an enzymological innovation gene cluster. Natural variation analysis showed that the abundance of the toxic tyramine intermediate of the gene cluster among different rice accessions is mainly determined by the coordinated transcription of Os Ty DC1 and Os THT1. Further pathogen incubation assays demonstrated that the end products of the HT gene cluster displayed enhanced resistance to the bacterial pathogen Xanthomonas oryzae pv. Oryzae(Xoo) and fungal pathogen Magnaporthe oryzae(M. oryzae), and the enhanced resistance is associated with the boost of phytoalexins and the activation of defense response. The unique presence of the HT gene cluster in Oryza AA genome, together with the enrichment of transposon elements within this gene cluster region, provides an evolutionary background to accelerate cluster member combinations. Our study not only discovered a gene cluster involved in the phenylpropanoid metabolism but also addressed the key aspects of gene cluster formation. In addition, our results provide a new metabolic pool for plant defense against pathogens. 展开更多

Equalization can compensate channel distortion caused by channel multipath effects, and effectively improve convergent of modulation constellation diagram in optical wireless system. In this paper, the subspace blind equalization algorithm is used to preprocess M-ary phase shift keying(MPSK) subcarrier modulation signal in receiver. Mountain clustering is adopted to get the clustering centers of MPSK modulation constellation diagram, and the modulation order is automatically identified through the k-nearest neighbor(KNN) classifier. The experiment has been done under four different weather conditions. Experimental results show that the convergent of constellation diagram is improved effectively after using the subspace blind equalization algorithm, which means that the accuracy of modulation recognition is increased. The correct recognition rate of 16 PSK can be up to 85% in any kind of weather condition which is mentioned in paper. Meanwhile, the correct recognition rate is the highest in cloudy and the lowest in heavy rain condition. 展开更多

A class of one-way isothermal mass transfer processes with Fick’s diffusive mass transfer law[g ∝Δ(c)]is investigated in this paper.Based on the definition of the mass entransy,the entransy dissipation function which reflects the irreversibility of mass transfer ability loss is derived.The optimal concentration allocations of the key components corresponding to the highand low-concentration sides for the minimum entransy dissipation of the mass transfer process are obtained by applying opti- mal control theory and compared with the strategies of the minimum entropy generation,constant mass transfer flux(constant concentration difference),and constant concentration ratio(constant chemical potential difference).The results are as follows. For the optimal mass transfer strategy of the minimum entransy dissipation,the product of the square of the key component concentration difference between the high-and the low-concentration sides and the inert component concentration at the low-concentration side is a constant,while for that of the minimum entropy generation,the ratio of the square of the key com-ponent concentration difference between the high-and the low-concentration sides to the key component concentration at the low-concentration side is a constant;when the mass transfer process is not involved in energy conversion process,the optimi-zation principle should be the minimum entransy dissipation;the mass transfer strategy of constant concentration difference is superior to that of constant concentration ratio.The results obtained in this paper can provide some theoretical guidelines for optimal designs and operations of practical mass transfer processes. 展开更多

A novel method to generate binary frequency shift-keying(BFSK) radio frequency(RF) signals in optical domain is proposed.In the proposed system,an optical short pulse train is converted into super-Gaussian RF pulses with high frequency based on optical pulse shaping by two Mach-Zehnder fiber interferometers(MZIs).And the generated RF signals are coded using a fast electro-optic switch.By properly designing the MZIs,BFSK RF signals with desired code pattern and modulation index can be generated.A theoretical model for describing the system is developed,and the generation of BFSK RF signals in millimeter-wave regime is demonstrated via simulations. 展开更多
