[Method] The model of hyperglycemia mice were obtained by injecting streptozotocin intraperitoneally to study the effect of F. suspensa leaves on lowering blood sugar of hyperglycemia mice and normal ani- mals. [Result] F. suspensa leaves could antagonize the streptozotocin-reducing mice hyperglycemia and significantly reduce the fasting blood glucose level of diabetic mice. [Coaclusion] F. suspensa leaves exhibits a good therapeutic effect on diabetic mice and has a good development prospect.展开更多

Methods: LCR detection of the urine for Neisseriagonorrhoeae and bacteria culture of discharge was per-formed simultaneously to 276 patients with urethritisor cervicitis seeking treatment in sex transmitted dis-eases (STDs) outpatient clinic. For specimens withdiscordant results, polymerase chain reaction wasconducted. The purpose was to detect the respectivesensitivity and specificity of bacteria culture and LCR. Results: 24 of 276(8.7%) patients had positive LCRresults and 21 of 276(7.6%) were positive for culture.5 specimens had discordant results from LCR andbacteria culture. The sensitivity and specificity of LCRin the diagnosis of gonorrhoeae were 92.3% and100% respectively. Conclusion: This study showed that LCR had ahigher sensitivity and specificity for the diagnosis ofgonorrhoeae from urine.展开更多

Methods: Type 2 diabetes mellitus rats were induced by an injection of 35 mg/kg streptozotocin (STZ) and a high-carbohydrate/high-fat diet for 16 weeks. Diabetic rats were given low-, middle-, high-dose berberine (75, 150, 300 mg/kg), fenofibrate (100 mg/kg) and rosiglitazone (4 mg/kg) for another 16 weeks, respectively. The myocardium structure was observed with hematoxylin & eosin (H&E) staining and Cdk9 and cyclin T1 protein expressions were detected by immunohistochemistry. Results: Middle-dose, high-dose berberine improved myocardial hypertrophy and interstitial fibrosis of diabetic rats. Cdk9 and cyclin T1 protein were significantly lower in diabetic myocardium than in control one (P〈0.01), and middle-dose, high-dose berberine and fenofibrate obviously increased both Cdk9 and cyclin T1 expression to near control level (P〈0.01). Conclusion: Berberine modulates Cdk9 and cyclin T1 protein expression in diabetic myocardium which may contribute to ameliorate myocardium damage.展开更多

Methods: The function of gap junctional intercellular communication in the cultured bladder detrusor cells was detected by fluorescence redistribution after photobleaching. Results: At the fourth minute after bleaching, the mean fluorescences recovery rates of DI group bladder detrusor cells were (35 791±0 836)%, that of control group (8 645±0 673)%. The mean fluorescence recovery rates of DI group were significantly higher than those of control group ( P <0 01). Conclusion: It shows that the increase of intercellular excitatory communication is one of the important reasons of pathogenesis of DI.展开更多
