The result indicates that specificity, which is brought into play through the inner biological mechanism, can be found in meridian acupoint efficacy. However, problems still remain since studies at present are still not systematic, comprehensive and scientific. In the future, relative studies should be carried out on extensive diseases and disease models with modern scientific technologies and equipments, strict as well as scientific experimental designation and evaluation methods.展开更多

The effective experimental me- thod was first proposed by Jackson and Hunt in 1965. The transparent model materials for solidification researches are a kind of non-faceted crystals known as "plastic crystals" or "globular molecules", which have very low entropy of melting as that of metals. According to Jackson's theory proposed in 1958, entropy of phase transformation will determine whether the phase interface morphology is smooth or rough in atomic scale, which will lead to faceted or nonfacted phase interface in mi- croscopic and macroscopic scales. Succinonitrile (SCN) and its alloys with water, ethanol, acetone, and NH4C1-H:O solution are most commonly used as transparent model materials for solidification researches of dendritic growth, anisotropy of solid-liquid interfacial energy, crystal nucleation, crystal grain formation, directional solidification, eutectic and peritectic so- lidification, solidification defects formation such as bubble, hot tearing, etc. Among these researches, the most impressive work was the critical test of dendritic growth theories with high purity succinonitrile by Glicksman et al., which gave positive answer to the Ivantsov's analysis and negative answer to the ad hoc condition of the maximum velocity hypothesis. The future researches with transparent model materials could be suggested in three aspects: 1) accurate measurement of material proper- ties and alloy phase diagrams in more plastic crystals, especially to find more transparent eutectic and peritectic alloys; 2) accurate measurement of the grain boundary groove shape to obtain precise data of the anisotropy parameters of the interfacial free energy in transparent model materials; 3) to get clear pictures of solidification processes with morphology details in a rela- tively large area, with continuous movement of liquid and particles, in order to give experimental support to numerical simula- tions aimming at accurate description of microstructure formation during solidification of multicomponent alloys under complex conditions of real casting and welding processes.展开更多

Methods:Participants saw a series of pictures with either blue or red background, and were then given a pretest for item and source memories. Then males and females respectively were randomly assigned either to a wake or a sleep condition. In the wake condition, participants remained awake until the posttest;in the sleep condition, participants slept for 1 h until awakened and asked to remain awake until the posttest. Results:Daytime sleep contributed to retention of source memory rather than item memory in females, whereas males undergoing daytime sleep had a trend towards increased familiarity. For females, however, neither recollection nor familiarity appeared to be influenced by daytime sleep. Conclusion:The mechanism underlying gender difference may be linked with different memory traces resulting from different encoding strategies,as well as with different electrophysiological changes during daytime sleep.展开更多

After constraining the model parameter according to the Witten–Bodmer hypothesis and observational mass–radius probability distribution of pulsars, we investigate the properties of this kind of objects. It is found that the energy per baryon decreases monotonically with increasing baryon number and reaches its minimum at the maximum baryon number, corresponding to the most massive strange star. Due to the quark depletion,an electric potential well is formed on the surface of the quarkpart. For a rotational bare strange star, a magnetic field with the typical strength in pulsars is generated.展开更多

The first part gives a physically complete description of the frozen field topology derived from magnetic flux conservation as the fundamental property, treating four conceptually related topics: Eulerian and La- grangian descriptions of three dimensional (3D) MHD, Chandrasekhar-Kendall and Euler-potential field representations, magnetic helicity, and inviscid vortex dynamics as a fluid system in physical contrast to ideal MHD. A corollary of these developments clar- ifies the challenge of achieving a high degree of the frozen-in condition in numerical MHD. The second part treats field-topology breakage centered around the Parker Magnetostatic Theorem on a general incompatibility of a continuous magnetic field with the dual demand of force-free equilibrium and an arbitrarily prescribed, 3D field topology. Preserving field topology as a global con- straint readily results in formation of tangential magnetic discontinuities, or, equivalently, electric current-sheets of zero thickness. A similar incompatibility is present in the steady force-thermal balance of a heated radiating fluid subject to an anisotropic thermal flux conducted strictly along its frozen-in magnetic field in the low-fl limit. In a weakly resistive fluid the thinning of current sheets by these general incompatibilities inevitably results field notwithstanding the small resistivity. Strong Faraday in sheet dissipation, resistive heating and topological changes in the induction drives but also macroscopically limits this mode of energy dissipation, trapping or storing free energy in self-organized ideal-MHD structures. This property of MHD turbulence captured by the Taylor hypothesis is reviewed in relation to the Sun's corona, calling for a basic quantitative description of the breakdown of flux conservation in the low-resistivity limit. A cylindrical initial-boundary value problem provides specificity in the general MHD ideas presented.展开更多
