Constrained least squares algorithm for channel vector estimation in 2-D RAKE receiver

Based on the fact that the variation of tile direction of arrival (DOA) isslower than that of the channel fading, the steering vector of the desired signal is estimatedfirstly using a subspace decomposition method and then a constrained condition is configured.Traffic signals are further employed to estimate the channel vector based on the constrained leastsquares criterion. We use the iterative least squares with projection (ILSP) algorithm initializedby the pilot to get the estimation. The accuracy of channel estimation and symbol detection can beprogressively increased through the iteration procedure of the ILSP algorithm. Simulation resultsdemonstrate that the proposed algorithm improves the system performance effectively compared withthe conventional 2-D RAKE receiver.

Quantum Secure Direct Communication Using W State

A theoretical scheme of quantum secure direct communication using teleportation is proposed. In the scheme, the sender needs to prepare a class of three-particle W states to use as quantum channel. The two communicators may communicate after they test the security of the quantum channel. The security of the protocol is ensured by quantum entanglement and quantum no-cloning theorem. The receiver can obtain the secret message determinately if the quantum channel is secure.

Enhanced Multiparty Controlled QSDC Using GHZ State

Recently, Gao et al. [Opt. Commun. 283 （2010） 192] pointed out that Wang et al,＇s multiparty controlled quantum secure direct communication （CQSDC） protocol [Opt. Commun. 266 （2006） 732] has the information leakage problem and proposed an improved protocol. However, in the improved protocol, due to the introduction of an additional random sampling to avoid the weakness, the qubit efficiency is decreased. By introducing the base changing technique to the random sampling in Wang et al. ＇s protocol, this study overcomes the information leakage problem and provides a better qubit efficiency.

An Enhanced and Extensible Data Structure for Flow Export Engine

Flow-based measurement is a popular method for various network monitoring usages.However, many flow exporting softwares have still low performance to collect all flows.In this paper, we propose a IPFIX-based flow export engine with an enhanced and extensible data structure, called XFix, on the basis of a GPL tool,-nProbe.In the engine, we use an extensible two-dimensional hash table for flow aggregation, which is able to improve the performance of the metering process as well as support bidirectional flow.Experimental results have shown its efficiency in multi-thread processing activity.

A Network Pharmacology Approach to Uncover the Molecular Targets and Associated Potential Pathways of Lycii Fructus for the Treatment of Retinitis Pigmentosa

Objective To explore the molecular targets and associated potential pathways of Lycii Fructus(LF,Gou Qi Zi,枸杞子)in the treatment of retinitis pigmentosa(RP)by the approaches of network pharmacology and bioinformatics.Methods The potential blood-entry active ingredients and targets of LF were retrieved by Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology Database and Analysis Platform(TCMSP).RP-related gene targets were retrieved through disease comprehensive databases.Protein-protein interaction(PPI)network of LF component-targets and RP disease-targets was constructed by STRING,and the intersection of the 2 networks was extracted.Gene Ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG)pathway analysis of theintersection network were conducted by Database for Annotation,Visualization and Integrated Discovery(DAVID).CytoHubba was used to screen the key targets.Results A total of 188 chemical constituents related to LF was retrieved from TCMSP database.45 active ingredients were screened according to pharmacokinetic parameters oral bioavailability(OB)and drug similarity(DL).36 active ingredients were further screened and 201 targets related to these constituents were obtained.206 target genes directly related to RP were obtained from the disease comprehensive databases,and 89 genes were obtained from the intersection of componenttarget and disease-target PPI network.These genes were mainly involved in intracellular signal transduction,GTPase activity regulation,cell morphology regulation,and other biological processes.Molecular functions were mainly related to Rho guanine nucleotide exchange factor activity,GTPase activator activity,receptor signal protein serine/threonine kinase activity and so on.They were enriched in the cytoplasm,cell membrane,Golgi apparatus,and other regions.The mechanism was related to cell cycle pathways,neurotrophin signaling pathways,Ras signaling pathways,and so on.10 key gene targets of LF in the treatment of RP were screened.Conclusions The material basis for LF to exert its pharmacodynamic effect is 36 active ingredients such as cycloartenol,mandenol,and so on.The key targets of LF in the treatment of RP include 10 genes,such as Rho,PAK,and so on.The main mechanism is related to the regulation of the Ras signaling pathway,neurotrophin signaling pathway,cell cycle related pathway,and other signaling networks.

The Performance Analysis of the THMLD-based Mobile Multicast Method

Mobile multicast is important for the emerging applications such as mobile video or audio conference and mobile IPTV.Some mobile multicast schemes have been proposed in the past few years, but most of them study the reconstruc-tion of multicast delivery tree, and few consider the group membership management for mobile sub-scribers.In this paper, we propose a new mobile multicast method based on the Two-Hop Multicast Listener Discovery(THMLD) protocol which pro-vides the mobile multicast membership manage-ment function by forwarding the traditional MLD messages to its neighboring subnets.To evaluate its performance, we analyze the THMLD and set up the simulation platform to compare it with the several traditional mobile multicast methods.The results show that THMLD can reduce the multicast join time, and the THMLD-based mobile multicast method can reduce the multicast join delay at a cost of increasing additional multicast maintenance cost.

Precise Transformation of Feistel to SP Fuse into LFSR

For the published block cipher algorithm, two kinds of round functions have been researched.Block ciphers in network environments are taking more risks than ever before because of their initialization key's distribution in the internet.The security of block cipher algorithm is affected by linear bias and nonlinear bias which are restricted by confusion layer and diffusion layer.This article takes an approach on how block cipher's two round structures are initially transformed when they fuse into LFSR.The SP structure can be considered two F functions in one Feistel round function which combines both right and left of origin data transformation.Furthermore, the round number linear function and nonlinear function of Feistel and SP structure are compared.The merit of SP structure is that it can fuse in LFSR as a nonlinear filter without memory.

A Kind of Multi-party Non-repudiation Protocol with Consistent Evidence

With development of electronic com- merce, non-repudiation protocol as the basal component of non-repudiation service has done more and more important functions. Comparing with lots of work on two-party non-repudiation, there are less work on multi-party non-repudiation protocol. Multi-party protocol is more complex and facing more challenge of collusion attack. In this paper we give a kind of multi-party non-repudiation protocol based on off-line TTP with consistent evidence. Consistent evidence is a property that can not only simplify the process of disputation resolving, but also make the service more friendly to users, which means that whether or not TTP involves, evidences participants obtained are consistent. In the meanwhile we analyze the collusion attack that multi-party protocol facing, our protocol can prevent collusion attack.

Sharp Lower Bound of the Least Eigenvalue of Graphs with Given Diameter

The eigenvalues of graphs play an important role in the fields of quantum chemistry, physics, computer science, communication network, and information science. Particularly, they can be interpreted in some situations as the energy levels of an electron in a molecule or as the possible frequencies of the tone of a vibrating membrane. The diameter of a graph, the maximum distance between any two vertices of a graph, has great impact on the service quality of communication networks. So we were motivated to investigate the sharp lower bound of the least eigenvalue of graphs with given diameter. Let gn. d be the set of graphs on n vertices with diameter d. For any graph G ∈ gn, d, by considering the least eigenvalue of its connected spanning bipartite subgraph, we obtained the sharp lower bound of the least eigenvalue of graph G. Furthermore, an upper bound of Laplacian spectral radius of graph G was given.

Interkingdom signaling in plant-microbe interactions

The widespread communications between prokaryotes and eukaryotes via signaling molecules are believed to affect gene expression in both partners.During the communication process,the contacted organisms produce and release small molecules that establish communication channels between two kingdoms—this procedure is known as interkingdom signaling.Interkingdom communications are widespread between pathogenic or beneficial bacteria and their host plants,with diversified outcomes depending on the specific chemical-triggered signaling pathways.Deciphering the signals or language of this interkingdom communication and uncovering the underlying mechanisms are major current challenges in this field.It is evident that diverse signaling molecules can be produced or derived from bacteria and plants,and researchers have sought to identify these signals and explore the mechanisms of the signaling pathways.The results of such studies will lead to the development of strategies to improve plant disease resistance through controlling interkingdom signals,rather than directly killing the pathogenic bacteria.Also,the identification of signals produced by beneficial bacteria will be useful for agricultural applications.In this review,we summarize the recent progress of cross-kingdom interactions between plant and bacteria,and how LuxR-family transcription factors in plant associated bacterial quorum sensing system are involved in the interkingdom signaling.

Controlled Deterministic Secure Quantum Communication Protocol Based on Three-Particle GHZ States in X-Basis

A controlled deterministic secure quantum communication(CDSQC) protocol is proposed based on threeparticle GHZ state in X-basis.Only X-basis and Z_1Z_2X_3-basis(composed of Z-basis and X-basis) measurement are required,which makes the scheme more convenient than others in practical applications.By distributing a random key between both sides of the communication and performing classical XOR operation,we realize a one-time-pad scheme,therefore our protocol achieves unconditional secure.Because only user with legitimate identity string can decrypt the secret,our protocol can resist man-in-the middle attack.The three-particle GHZ state in X-basis is used as decoy photons to detect eavesdropping.The detection rate reaches 75% per qubit.

IGF-1R/β-catenin signaling axis is involved in type 2 diabetic osteoporosis

Insulin-like growth factor-1 receptor(IGF-1 R)is involved in both glucose and bone metabolism.IGF-1 R signaling regulates the canonical Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway.In this study,we investigated whether the IGF-1 R/β-catenin signaling axis plays a role in the pathogenesis of diabetic osteoporosis(DOP).Serum from patients with or without DOP was collected to measure the IGF-1 R level using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Rats were given streptozotocin following a four-week high-fat diet induction(DOP group),or received vehicle after the same period of a normal diet(control group).Dual energy X-ray absorption,a biomechanics test,and hematoxylin-eosin(HE)staining were performed to evaluate bone mass,bone strength,and histomorphology,respectively,in vertebrae.Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR)and western blotting were performed to measure the total and phosphorylation levels of IGF-1 R,glycogen synthase kinase-3β(GSK-3β),andβ-catenin.The serum IGF-1 R level was much higher in patients with DOP than in controls.DOP rats exhibited strikingly reduced bone mass and attenuated compression strength of the vertebrae compared with the control group.HE staining showed that the histomorphology of DOP vertebrae was seriously impaired,which manifested as decreased and thinned trabeculae and increased lipid droplets within trabeculae.PCR analysis demonstrated that IGF-1 R mRNA expression was significantly up-regulated,and western blotting detection showed that phosphorylation levels of IGF-1 R,GSK-3β,andβ-catenin were enhanced in DOP rat vertebrae.Our results suggest that the IGF-1 R/β-catenin signaling axis plays a role in the pathogenesis of DOP.This may contribute to development of the underlying therapeutic target for DOP.

Quantum Correlations Evolution Asymmetry in Quantum Channels

It was demonstrated that the entanglement evolution of a specially designed quantum state in the bistochastic channel is asymmetric. In this work, we generalize the study of the quantum correlations, including entanglement and quantum discord, evolution asymmetry to various quantum channels. We found that the asymmetry of entanglement and quantum discord only occurs in some special quantum channels, and the behavior of the entanglement evolution may be quite different from the behavior of the quantum discord evolution. To quantum entanglement, in some channels it decreases monotonously with the increase of the quantum channel intensity. In some other channels, when we increase the intensity of the quantum channel, it decreases at first, then keeps zero for some time, and then rises up. To quantum discord, the evolution becomes more complex and you may find that it evolutes unsmoothly at some points. These results illustrate the strong dependence of the quantum correlations evolution on the property of the quantum channels.
