A class of Quasi-Systematic Block-Circulant Low-Density Parity-Check(QSBC-LDPC) codes is proposed.Block-circulant LDPC codes have been studied a lot recently,because the simple structures of their parity-check matrices are very helpful to reduce the implementation complexities.QSBC-LDPC codes are special block-circulant LDPC codes with quasi-systematic parity-check ma-trices.The memories for encoders of QSBC-LDPC codes are limited,and the encoding process can be carried out in a simple recursive way with low complexities.Researches show that the QSBC-LDPC codes can provide remarkable performances with low encoding complexities. 展开更多

In this paper, A Belief Propagation concatenated Orderd-Statistic Decoder (BP-OSD) based on accumulated Log-Likelihood Ratio (LLR) is proposed for medium and short lengths Low Density Parity-Check (LDPC) codes coded Bit-Interleaved Coded Modulation (BICM) systems. The accumulated soft output values delivered by every BP iteration are used as reliability values of Soft-Input Soft-Output OSD (SISO-OSD) decoder and the soft output of SISO-OSD is used as a priori probabilities of the demodulator for the next iteration. Simulation results show that this improved algorithm achieves noticeable performance gain with only modest increase in computation complexity. 展开更多

Those two elements are essential values to be handled by promotional communication through its several channels, means, and products. The aim of the study is to discuss the importance of corporate identity and image in the promotional communication of an organization. Bibliographical research and a case study were both used as methodologies. For one class of Low-Density Parity-Check(LDPC)codes with low row weight in theirparity check matrix,a new Syndrome Decoding(SD)based on the heuristic Beam Search(BS),labeledas SD-BS,is put forward to improve the error performance.First,two observations are made andverified by simulation results.One is that in the SNR region of interest,the hard-decision on thecorrupted sequence yields only a handful of erroneous bits.The other is that the true error pattern forthe nonzero syndrome has a high probability to survive the competition in the BS,provided sufficientbeam width.Bearing these two points in mind,the decoding of LDPC codes is transformed into seekingan error pattern with the known decoding syndrome.Secondly,the effectiveness of SD-BS dependsclosely on how to evaluate the bit reliability.Enlightened by a bit-flipping definition in the existingliterature,a new metric is employed in the proposed SD-BS.The strength of SD-BS is demonstrated viaapplying it on the corrupted sequences directly and the decoding failures of the Belief Propagation(BP),respectively. 展开更多

This paper studies the nonsystematic Low-Density Parity-Check(LDPC)codes based onSymmetric Balanced Incomplete Block Design(SBIBD).First,it is concluded that the performancedegradation of nonsystematic linear block codes is bounded by the average row weight of generalizedinverses of their generator matrices and code rate.Then a class of nonsystematic LDPC codes con-structed based on SBIBD is presented.Their characteristics include:both generator matrices andparity-check matrices are sparse and cyclic,which are simple to encode and decode;and almost arbi-trary rate codes can be easily constructed,so they are rate-compatible codes.Because there aresparse generalized inverses of generator matrices,the performance of the proposed codes is only0.15dB away from that of the traditional systematic LDPC codes. 展开更多

In order to guarantee reliable data transmission, powerful channel coding techniques are usually required in noncoherent ultra-wideband(UWB) communication systems. Accordingly, several forward error correction(FEC) codes, such as Reed-Solomon and convolutional codes have been used in noncoherent UWB systems to improve the bit error rate(BER) performance. In this paper, low-density parity-check(LDPC) codes are further studied as more powerful FEC candidates for noncoherent UWB systems. Two LDPC codes and the corresponding decoding procedures are presented for noncoherent UWB systems. Moreover, performance comparison between the LDPC codes and other FEC codes are provided for three major noncoherent UWB communication systems, namely, noncoherent pulse position modulation(NC-PPM), transmitted reference(TR) and transmitted reference pulse cluster(TRPC). Both theoretical analysis and simulation results show that the two investigated LDPC codes outperform other existing FEC codes with limited penalty in terms of complexity and therefore they are promising FEC candidates for noncoherent UWB systems with low-cost and low-power consumption. 展开更多

Due to the ubiquitous open air links and complex electromagnetic environment in the satellite communications,how to ensure the security and reliability of the information through the satellite communications is an urgent problem.This paper combines the AES(Advanced Encryption Standard) with LDPC(Low Density Parity Check Code) to design a secure and reliable error correction method — SEEC(Satellite Encryption and Error Correction).This method selects the LDPC codes,which is suitable for satellite communications,and uses the AES round key to control the encoding process,at the same time,proposes a new algorithm of round key generation.Based on a fairly good property in error correction in satellite communications,the method improves the security of the system,achieves a shorter key size,and then makes the key management easier.Eventually,the method shows a great error correction capability and encryption effect by the MATLAB simulation. 展开更多

The novel Low Density Parity Check(LDPC) coded 4×4 and 4×8 DAPPM Free-Space Optical communication(FSO) system is constructed. The Monte Carlo simulation results show approximately 2d B transmit power reduction against classical LDPC-DAPPM at the identical Bit-Error-Rate in strong turbulent channel. A novel construction method of QC-LDPC codes based on CRT for optical communications

A novel construction method of quasi-cyclic low-density parity-check(QC-LDPC) codes is proposed based on Chinese remainder theory(CRT). The method can not only increase the code length without reducing the girth, but also greatly enhance the code rate, so it is easy to construct a high-rate code. The simulation results show that at the bit error rate(BER) of 10^(-7), the net coding gain(NCG) of the regular QC-LDPC(4 851, 4 546) code is respectively 2.06 dB, 1.36 dB, 0.53 dB and 0.31 dB more than those of the classic RS(255, 239) code in ITU-T G.975, the LDPC(32 640, 30 592) code in ITU-T G.975.1, the QC-LDPC(3 664, 3 436) code constructed by the improved combining construction method based on CRT and the irregular QC-LDPC(3 843, 3 603) code constructed by the construction method based on the Galois field(GF(q)) multiplicative group. Furthermore, all these five codes have the same code rate of 0.937. Therefore, the regular QC-LDPC(4 851, 4 546) code constructed by the proposed construction method has excellent error-correction performance, and can be more suitable for optical transmission systems. 展开更多

Fracture analysis of a plane crack problem under chemo-mechanical loading is presented based on a linear chemo-elasticity model.The flux conductivity is introduced to characterize the influence of the crack defect on the diffusion process.Using Fourier transform and the dislocation density functions,the crack problem is reduced to a set of singular integral equations,which are solved numerically by the Lobatto-Chebyshev method.Parametric studies are conducted to reveal the effects of flux conductivity,geometric configuration,chemical and mechanical loads on the crack tip field.The numerical results show that the stress singularity at the crack tip is usually a mixture of mode Ⅰ and mode Ⅱ types. 展开更多
