Carbonate parameters were calculated. The concentrations of DIC are from 1.896-2.229 mmolL-1 in the NYS and from 1.939-2.032 mmolL-1 off the QC. In the southwest of the NYS, DIC in the upper layers decreases from the north of the SP (Shandong Peninsula) shelf to the center of the NYS; whereas in the lower layers DIC increases from the north of the SP shelf to the center of the NYS and South Yellow Sea. In the northeast of the NYS, DIC in all layers in- creases from the YR (Yalu River) estuary to the centre of the NYS. The distribution of DIC in NYS can be used as an indicator of Yellow Sea Cold Water Mass (YSCWM). Air-sea CO2 fluxes were calculated using three models and the results suggest that both the NYS and the QC waters are potential sources of atmospheric CO2 in October.展开更多

And, developed curriculums introduced media awareness in schools. Continuously, the Grtinwald Declaration (1982) was the first to state the necessity of media education to promote ability of critical understanding. After dissemination of Internet, information and communication technologies were introduced into media education. And, media literacy and information literacy were intertwined as a MIL (Media and Information Literacy) in the Alexandria Proclamation (2005). Besides, the proclamation defined that information literacy and lifelong learning were the precondition of the information society. Featured importance of applied skill was explained by a disaster case that a girl saved 100 people when the Tsunami hit the coast in Phuket, 2004. Thus, the definition of MIL was frequently up-dated. On March 11 2011, we had a giant earthquake with the Tsunami: Tohoku region pacific coast earthquake. We observed severe damage even under our well prepared disaster prevention drill, earthquake-resistant construction, and communication networks. Through investigation, authors could select records of successful and unsuccessful cases concerning MIL. Then, this study aims to propose expecting what additional competency needs to be introduced in MIL. As a result, the authors could extract "Curation Literacy" that involved decision making process by a user.展开更多

Airplane flights make up between 60% and 70% of all forms of tourism transport. Since airplane travel is the main way for tourists to access islands, airplane travel receives considerable attention in the study of the relationship between island tourism transportation, environment and economy. However, the pa- rameters adopted to estimate ECCE in the literature are usually either out-of-date or taken from papers not written in China. To improve the accuracy of estimates, all the parameters used in this paper are current and were obtained locally. Based on these parameters and a bottom-up approach, a more accurate estimation of ECCE for the off-shore island city of Haikou was obtained in 2012. The results indicate that 24.30% of the city's energy con- sumption, 33.89 P J, was due to tourism transportation, while CO2 emissions were 2.54 Mt. It is incorrect to assume that tourism is "an industry with no pollution". In Haikou, for example, tourism turns out to be the major form of en- ergy consumption in the city. This paper makes several suggestions intended to minimize the negative environ- mental impact from tourism transportation. These include recommending longer stays, a decrease in the number of flights, taxation of airplane emissions, and the setting up an environmental recovery fund.展开更多
